The real struggle with Paco is that he started the whole gang. Heavily influenced them, especially Miklo to be for the gang. He was angry at himself the whole movie. For living with the guilt. Cruzito finally helps Paco accept it and move on. The ending is really deep once you understand the whole story.

“Blood out”means you die the only way to get out of the gang. Paco and Cruzito was only with VL which is just a street gang, La onda was a movement and much deeper. Also Cruzito forgiveness took a while but his mom gave him a chance since she didn’t want to lose a second son. The last speech that Cruzito gives at end was all about how life can turn out different for everyone, even with Pacos hatred towards Miklo what could’ve been for Paco if he would of gone to jail, shit he was a leader for the VL then eventually became a cop, Miklo was a joke and always treated like that since he had blue eyes and white skin, eventually became the leader. Cruzito being the one with a craft and the one who could possibly be someone, became a drug addict and was the reason his little brother died. Life’s a risk.

Blood in blood out doesn't refer to beatings at all. It actually refers to killing a man to get in and the only way out is you shedding blood (dying). Aka there is no leaving the gang. This refers more to Miklo getting into La Onda in prison.
@shadowdraqon2479
@shadowdraqon2479 4 месяца назад
Honestly tho, they(la onda) dont even need the whole “there is no leaving the gang” becuz if a person does actually quit the prison gang, they dont have protection anymore from their former members. So they would by default probably die from the other prison gangs anyways.

At the end Paco realizes he started the whole thing. He lit the fuse that started everything if it wasnt for Paco, cruz would have never been injured and miklo would never have gone to prison.
@delbomb3131
@delbomb3131 2 года назад
It's hard to be to hard on cruz for being a drug addict. Dude brutally had his back broken, was fed heavy narcotics to "solve the problem", then when the dr cut him off he's already addicted so he's gotta get his fix somehow. I know how the situation played out is horrendous and it's easy to be upset with him, but at the same time you know it's literally killing him inside because he knows it's his fault and there's nothing he could do about it. We don't have good methods to really help addiction now, go back 30/40 years it's brutal. His body was literally broken and to help him recover they broke his mind. It's not as easy as just quitting.

i don't hate on him for being an addict. I hate more so that it took a child dying for him to change his ways
@tylerchambers6246
@tylerchambers6246 2 года назад
@@MozyReacts It was an accident. He's partially responsible, but not entirely. People have gotten into car accidents that killed their child, people have lost their child to a gun in the home they owned that one day, for whatever reason, they forgot to secure properly, people have lost their kid after leaving their liquor cabinet unlocked by accident and they get into it, drive, crash, and die, etc. It's rare but it's a kind of accident that happens. What about a completely straight edge person, not an addict or drug user, that went to the doctor, got prescribed a bottle of oxy for an injury, for a broken leg or something, and then one day when they aren't around their kid gets into the medicine cabinet, takes a bunch of them and OD's and dies: because that's happened before too. Why was the kid so attached to Cruz in the first place, it's because nobody else was giving him the attention Cruz did, maybe if he had some more active people in his life he wouldn't have been so determined to emulate Cruz. There's nothing society or any of us can do or say to a person like Cruz that even comes close to the pain that he puts himself in with guilt, and, being an addict, that guilt and pain, combined with everyone he knows disowning him over what happened, just pushes him EVEN DEEPER into the dope. Maybe if our culture did not demonize, criminalize, and shun drug users and opiates specifically, Cruz's doctor would not have cut off his pill prescription and Cruz would have never had to resort to using street heroin to treat his physical pain, because nobody resorts to using heroin until their doctors stop giving them pills, and the only reason doctors come down so hard on the prescriptions is because our culture is forcing them to do so because our culture decided to blame opiates for all its problems: then the kid wouldn't have died after finding the heroin. There's plenty of 'maybes' to throw around in a circumstance like this. There's people in this world that have legitimate medical issues that cause them to live in physical pain- permanently. I'm one of them. Trigeminal neuralgia. They wake up in pain, they live in pain, they sleep in pain. That isn't life. It sucks the life and the energy out of your bones and turns you into a shell, an empty vessel just transporting a zombie consciousness around from point A to point B all day, and they are supposed to go on like that? To go on like that forever? What, are they supposed to do some guided meditation to overcome it? Some people actually do need opiates, on a daily basis, their life isn't worth it without them, and our culture, instead of demonizing them and their drug, needs to figure out how to fit them into things instead of pushing them away into the underground and into prison. For every loser fiend rotting on the side of the street with a needle in his arm that you can show me, I can show you a productive member of society who uses opiates medicinally, who would be lost without them, but no news or media is going to show you that guy, not one. Can you imagine a news channel running a story: "How opiates made my life worth living again"? Not going to happen.

During the heist Miccanos had the drop on Paco. He had him dead to rights 5 ft away with a gun pointing directly at the side of his. He didn't pull the trigger because he realized that it was his cousin. So to repay him for not taking the shot he decides to not let him go but instead shoot his from being who just refused to shoot him. He should have just looked the other way and pretended he never saw him, he owed him at least that much. It's crazy that you can't see that. Not to mention Paco is the one who led him down the path of gang violence. Throughout Miccanos teenage years he worshiped Paco and everything he did was to try to impress him. So hypothetically you lead your cousin down a path of violence, they do 9 years getting caught up in some shit that you started, then while they're in jail you become a cop. You then run into them in the streets and they have a chance to blow your head off, they don't take the shot and you repay them by taking the shot yourself causing them to lose a leg and spend the rest of their life in prison. Yet you see nothing wrong with any of that? Where's the loyalty at my G?

Cruz and Paco were stepbrothers. Juanito the kid that ODed was their half brother. Mexican families that come from these communities it is common to look up and admire criminals and mafia figures. There are family members that are addicts and you still love them. You got to realize that these kids go through so much before they are 18 that their bond is something stronger than regular families. And that's why forgiveness is common when most other families would just cut off ties.

The fulcrum point was that moment when 3P was tagging their alley, and Paco bullied Miklo into confronting them. “show me the color inside you.” He knew that was Miklo’s biggest insecurity. And the entire time Cruz was trying to stop it from happening. Cruz ends up being attacked and in chronic pain, which caused his addiction to opiates, and it’s all downhill from there. Paco tries to kill Spider and Miklo stops him but ends up getting shot and thrown in prison. All of Paco’s bad choices in the beginning drove the narrative of their lives. He did turn his life around but that was not the case for the other 2.

Miclo went to prison for being the shooter/killer. Paco was pardoned since he only broke minor laws and was a registered recruit for the marines. Had he opted out than he too would have been locked up for a shorter time. It was great to see that cruz father was the one to shun him from the family and the stepmom was the first to forgive him. Also Paco and Miclo are actual blood related cousins while cruz and miklo are not. Juanito was the symbol that made them a family being related to all of them. If you rewatch the beginning of the movie, Miklo looks up to Paco, while Paco pushed Miklo into that style of life, he made him feel bad for not "having it in him", Paco taunted him to do that incident of breaking the Tres Puntos' car window, which led them to break the back of Cruz in revenge, a vicious circle. They were only supposed to beat up Spider, but Paco not only was the one marking Spider, he also brought the gun. Paco was a bad influence and he pushed others into that life, but he decided to change his path, so Paco is not free of sins. It was Miklo's decision at the end, but People influences the lives of others or even if they don't do it consciously, they can manipulate them, too, even the little kid that could realize if they act nicely they may get something from their parents. Cruz because of the pain on his back, he also started to use heroin, which that led to his younger half-brother to pass away. Movie is called Blood in Blood out, not because initiations, it's because like said before, it's what happened to the main actors, the eye for eye, paybacks happened. With gangs and mobs that tends to happen.

Good reaction, but i couldn't help to feel the judgement on addicts. You have to understand, drugs dominate ever single aspect of these people. But the fact is addiction can't be controlled unless the person truly seeks help. And judging them on accidents isn't smart either.

@26:00 To help you better understand about the "confusing" situation... if you watch the interaction that the prison pimp / booty-bandit, Popeye, has at 23:40 with other booty-bandit, Big Al... it's apparent that Popeye has incurred a debt and Big Al is quickly getting impatient. Popeye tries to get slick by trying to settle the debt by "trading" one of his 'girls'... and Big Al is having none of it and will only accept cash and give a veiled threat to "hire" the AVers if Popeye doesnt pay up fast... but... Big Al soon changes his mind when he tells Popeye that he can "pay his debt with that" (ie, Miklo)... and if you look closely at Popeye's expression... you can tell the wheels are turning and he's trying to put his plan to turn Miklo out into motion.

You Mad over Micklo having Montana the Main leader killed well remember this that when you said (WHAT HAPPENED TO BEING FAMILIA/FAMILY, MIKLO).…WELL ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS THAT NOONE IS BIGGER THAN THE CAUSE. AND MÓNTALA WAS BECOMING WEAKER CAUSE HE JUST WANTED TO MAKE PEACE ALWAYS BUT SOMETIMES EELL ALL THE TIME YOU HAVE TO KEEP THE RESPECT AND FEAR WHICH FEAR AND RESPECT. COMES IS HAND IN HAND AND (ONDA) WAS LOOSING SOME IF NOT ALOT OF IT BY STAYIN BACK ALOT WHEN IT WAS TIME TO JUMP AND GAIN YOUR RESPRCT AND POWER WITH INTEREST. SO MONTANA HAD TO FALL DOWN FROM LEADERSHIP. REMEMBER BLOOD IN BLOOD OUT.

oh i totally get why Micklo had Montana killed. Its just so ironic that Micklo was preaching to Paco about La familia and blah blah blah and then when things started to look bad he turned on his family (Montana) but when Paco was facing prison and things were looking bad so he choose the cop life. (turning his back on the gang) Micklo finds it so messed up.

It’s a “B” movie so they had to tone down the guns and if you look in the Sunday fight seen there’s bullet holes in front of car but they cut the scene. This movie scene is supposed to be in the 70s and movie was made in 91 and both decades in real life had more shootings but when this came out in the early 90s Hispanics were grateful for this movie bc it was rare back then

Blood in is to beat or kill someone to join. Blood out is to be killed or severely beaten out a gang. Blood out was everyone that was hit by there own gang. Montoya especially. Back in our day guns were a last resort. This movie is based on a true story. This is exactly how gang warfare used to be on the east coast 70s n 80s too. The 90s was a mixed bag of 70s style and the way gangs are today.

If you have 2 parents of certain ethnicity, it doesn't mean all their ancestors were, too. The half this and half that it isn't, some genes are recessive, others genes or traits will pass yes or yes to the next generation, like a parted chin. Some stay dormant. Migrations happened always and after independence in Latin America countries, some migrants from all over the world arrived, some immigration were promoted too, it's not only Spanish and the different indigenous people, that without counting the ones that were brought by force from African regions, but also migrated later by their own. In Mexico they like to discriminate their citizens of African ancestry, but they have existed since colonial times. Japanese and Korean had an influence in Brazil, Middle Eastern immigrants had their influence in Chile, there are German descendants in probably all the Latin American countries, especially in South American region. Then in the US, you see couples of different ethnic groups, some famous people that's not Latino are considered as such, just because they have a Latino parent, not even culturally they're Latinos, but US standards consider them one. The actor Damian Chapa, Miklo, he has a Mexican father, but he lives the culture, so he's a Latino. The real life person that inspired his character, he was also a Latino, he had 2 Slavic parents, born in the US, he was raised in a Latin American neighbor and he also lived the culture, unlike let's say Jessica Alba, who only had a Mexican parent with some Mayan origin, Alba is Mayan, not Spanish, but Jessica Alba never had the Latin culture and she herself said she was considered a Latina in the US for having 1 parent from the region. Her mom was of West/Northern EU ancestry and she lived with her most of her life. Selena Gomez, Mexican father, Italian-American mother, the Romans expanded the original Latin culture, that came from an Italic tribe, the Latins, that was brought to the American continent, it mixed with the different indigenous and African cultures and Catholic traditions and that's the Latin American culture nowadays. Selena Gomez lived with her mom most of her life, raised as catholic, but decided to embrace the Latin American culture when she was an adult, so a Latina. I had a great-grandfather of Spanish origin who was blonde with green eyes from my father side, her wife my great grandmother was brown and Quechua, after that, most of my family is Spanish, Portuguese, Quechua, my mom used to have golden blonde hair when she was young, it darkened with the age. While me, my tone of skin is similar to the actor of Magic with dark brown hair, brown eyes.

Bruh I feel you on 1:24:33 yeah it was Cruz's fault that juanito died but it had been more than 10 years since his whole family left him alone in his suffering. There has to be a time you have to forgive that family member you've hold a lot grudge on for a long time.
@tonysoto8949
@tonysoto8949 Год назад
My dudes back then Juanito gravitated to Cruz cuz Cruz payed him attention and really loved his little brother who es his full brother from the same mother and father, it was the cop who was the step son from a prior relationship. Cruz snaps at his homie telling him he shouldn’t be shooting up in front of his brother then he sends his little brother upstairs to the house. Since Paco who was the cop never spent time with Juanito and was in the marines Juanito winds up going back down and doing something stupid and overdoses. Now of course Cruz should have put the shit away but alot if foos with broken backs or severe back or body pains used heroine to numb the pain much like Kirk Kobain who we all know killed himself while on heroine. It was a fucked up accident but aside from Cruz who else was watching this kid? It’s a family tragedy that even the parents should look in the mirror and say why wasn’t I there to watch my son. Cruz bore all the blame because he was a heroine addict and knew he had alot of blame for the tragedy and loss of his little brother who he honestly loved to death.
