I was actually genuinely surprised with how they did Hades. I was also thinking he was just going to be evil but I’m glad they gave him sympathetic motivations.

But still hes a bad guy non the less, he was selfish and didn't care if his actions would bring about the end of the world, no different to hera in my books, not to talk about how he manipulated seraphim into working him, when seraphim clearly didn't want to

@ryomahoshi4529 Месяц назад
@@jacobalexander4167 well I wouldn't say he wouldn't care per say. It's moreso that he had enough of a rigged system that will alwaus screw him in particular,what's different from Hera is that while yes Zeus cheated god knows how many times,she still had everything,she was the most respected woman of Olympus,even dare I say most feared woman in Olympus,she had power,she had freedom and she threw everything out of the window to be petty. Zeus obviously was in the wrong,there is no denying that,she went pretty far. Also we gotta take into account that while both manipulated Seraphim,Hades had the guts to offer him something he truly wanted deep in his soul,and came through at the end ,giving him the potion,while Hera just manipulated him and lied. Both have flaws,both were wrong,but to say they are the same isn't quite true.

I appreciate that, even though Hades is an antagonist, they still drive home how his motivation is understandable, even sympathetic, and that compared to the other Olympians the dude is a *saint* Hell, even when he manipulates and kills people , you can tell its not what he wants. He feels *bad* about it, but he won't stop because he's in a situation where he doesn't see another way out.

I was so happy that they showed Hades and Persephone’s love story. The fact that she willingly eats the pomegranate seeds. I like the take that it was Demeter who falsely spread the event as a kidnapping. Also ecstatic that they showed ARES x APHRODITE TOGETHER like omg yay!!! I can’t have enough of Hermes. Every scene he’s in, my eyes are drawn to him. He’s utilized exceptionally 🏃🪽🪽 I also like how we got to see the siblings Athena, Artemis, Apollo, Hermes plus Hestia working together getting their deserved screen time. Seraphim is such an interesting character. Amazing writing for his development. I hope that him and Heron bond as true brothers. I already like the gradual growth they had in this season.

It takes creative liberty behind the mythology of this animated series. Its a unique take and its mostly entertaining. While season 1 did focus on the action, season 2 was smart to slow things down and put some pieces in place as well as making time for character building.

I think it was implied to be Hera the one who cut Heron's threads, I like how Seraphin got developed and how he trusted and worked for Hades because their motivations were the same, how Hades gave him the bottle as a meaning that he kept his word and his part of the deal is done, how they made Hades an antagonist but not a villain and you can understand where his decision to stab Heron came from (how he was going to explain to his children that mister chosen one having the power to change things basically said "Fuck you, keep suffering in order to keep the balance of the world") also I want to see how Hades reacts to his first trully selfish choice ends dooming everyone he loves.
@aina____

Hera didn't cut the threads. During the time that Heron's thread got cut the gods are at war with the giants, meaning that during this time, Hera's too busy on the battlefield to be the one that cut that thread.

It was MUCH better than season 1. We still get a lot of "Speed Racer" esque animation, but nowhere near as much. plus we actually get some PLOT as opposed to things just happening for no reason (and we get some actual explanations and REASONS for those things that just randomly happened in season 1). Seems like they used that four years to, you know, actually work on the show.

The problem with Heron is that he is so rash most of the time, but his heart is in the right place he is a good person unlike his father.

I love the animation STYLE, I just wished they could have polished it a bit more. It honestly looked like it was skipping frames at some points. Also, I would totally believe Demeter made up Persephone's kidnapping to get sympathy. She was such a Karen. If Hades actually used his words, Heron might have forced Demeter to stop with the wintertime tantrums, accept that Persephone is happy with Hades, and move on with life so that they can be together year-round. I bet the audience would love to see Demeter suck it, to say nothing of the other Olympians--I know I would. I really hate when conflicts could have been resolved if people could just sit down and talk and instead they choose to escalate it. There's a reason we have two ears and one mouth: talk less, listen more. I would not have minded the "No-Naming" of Typhon so much if they treated the other gods with the same respect, since the gods knew when someone spoke of them by name. Voldemort didn't trademark the name taboo, after all. They might as well have not even bothered keeping his name a secret, and it feels more like they stole the idea from J. K. Rowling, which makes it feel cheap and ripped off. Can we also acknowledge that Demeter just pulled a DC's Poison Ivy with her bioweapon? Just saying. In your inaccuracy video, I would love it if you touched on the bald eagle that's torturing Prometheus--bald eagles are North American birds, not Greek/Mediterranean. Bugs me they did that in the Clash of the Titans remake. I also can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Eleusinian Stone--I'm sure you're aware of the Eleusinian Mysteries and their association with Demeter and Persephone. All I've learned about them is that Persephone's name Kore was all that was ever revealed, they were so closely guarded by the cult that no one knows what they are to this day, and that you had to learn them in order to traverse the Underworld (Heracles had to, anyway). Can't wait for that video!

Season 2 for me is 10/10. It's animation style never bothered me at all. But i get why it wouldn't work for many. I loved how character driven it was this time around. Witch in turn made me care for the many that did not receive enough themselves last season. I love all the characters. Heron and Seraphim are both my top favorites, next to Zeus, Poseidon, Hades and Hera so far. For the record, Helios is my favorite Greek God. I hope he appears in the next season. If i have to name a top favorite, it's Heron. Mainly of how much of his Heroes Journey reminds much of Luke Skywalker. Well, before Disney went and ruined that great character. While Seraphim is everyones most favorite. I've always been a fan the more classic heroes types. Now, the animation was awesome this time around for me and the those 4 years were worth the wait for this one. My biggest compliment is Paul Edward-Francis' incredible music score for the show and he nailed it this season and Charles and Vlas Parlapanides direction was once again grand for me. The Brothers did a great job this season.

Just like Season 1, I’d rate Blood of Zeus Season 2 a 7/10. There were parts I liked and parts I disliked. What I liked: -We got to see more of gods that were barely shown in season 1, such as Hades, Athena, and Demeter. We even got new gods like Gaea, Persephone, and Hestia, the third one is virtually unseen. There were also minor characters such as the Keres present, which I enjoyed seeing. -While Heron still isn’t my favorite character (probably never will) he did develop. Last season Heron was just your average anime protagonist, he still kinda is but does develop more so I’ll give him that. Seraphim developed a lot as well and we saw more of his past with his lover. -More world building which makes the story more interesting. My favorite part had to be the whole Typhon thing. What I disliked: -Most of Hades’ cause falls into the typical Hollywood Hades. He was cheated by Zeus, he hates ruling the Underworld, now he wants to rule Olympus. He feels a lot like the Hades we’ve seen in Disney’s Hercules, Clash of the Titans 2010, Percy Jackson movies, and countless others. -A lot of the characters feel like they’re just there. Such as Poseidon, Ares, Evios, and Kofi. Evios is silent until when he randomly decides to bail on the team, never to be seen again. He’s a wasted character. -This is something I noticed back in season 1. They tend to do the unpredictable too early imo. At the end of season 1, Zeus dies. At the end of season 2, Heron dies. Assuming the series is 5 seasons long (as the Parlapanides Brothers wanted it to be) they killed off 2 main characters at the beginning. Removes the shock value and makes it more predictable as the story goes on.
@filiptang113
@filiptang113 Месяц назад
Calling their Hades a typical Hollywood Hades is a little too far. He doesn't dislike the underworld simply because he wants to rule the rest, he dislike it because it's torture for him physically and mentally, and he is bound there so he is forced to return. Also, he's after the stone because he's again and again been taken advantage of, because they all know they can do whatever they want and he wouldn't raise a finger against them, because he always tried to be fair and patient. And what has it meant for him and his family. A lottery that was rigged in a way that guaranteed he got the worst outcome and situation where he can only be with his wife half a year. Not to mention that he is forced to see his children grief every times their mother has to go back to Demeter.
@Creterampage
@Creterampage Месяц назад
@@filiptang113I understand the Persephone thing, but I’ve seen in media where Hades hates ruling the Underworld bc it affects him. Clash of the Titans 2010, Zeus cheated Hades leaving him in the Underworld in pain, to be hated by humans while he was loved by them. I don’t know if the same can be said for Disney’s Hades but I mean, he does seem to be overwhelmed with his job around the dead while the gods screw around on Olympus, and he is clearly the black sheep. I’ll admit it isn’t exactly the typical Hollywood Hades but in ways it does seem a bit like that.

Maybe someone can answer this, but why don’t we see Hades trying to sway Demeter to resolve his conflict? The show shows that Persephone being in the underworld doesn’t stop Demeter from visiting. The custody battle between her mother and her husband is a bit awkward at times. The changes kinda just make Demeter a toxic asshole which would of been a bit more effective if we saw her in a nicer light in season 1. I’d figured she want to see her grandkids too.

Well I guess that it takes a lot of the edge of the show if the gods cannot die. Like we wouldn't care for the tension in some scenes if they were unable to be killed. At least that's how I see it

I find it funny that they reuse the name Gorgo (Medusas real Greek name, yes it’s Gorgo - Medusa just like Heracles - Hercules) and she’s still a priestess, although for Artemis not Athena. While I’ve been writing my book I’ve loved learning how we have been taught the wrong names and stories for so long.

i loved this season honestly and cant wait for third one to come out, only thing that I hated was the whole ares Persephone thing. of all people you picked him when almost anyone else would have been more accurate. its even worse when, as you said, they did their research. so I'll probably just pretend that didn't happen or some shapeshifting monster did that for how much it pisses me off

Hades doesnt explain or talk about his situation because he has never been dealt a fair hand or been treated honestly. Heck in zeus trail we learn posiden knew hera and zeus were going to cheat and thus give hades his cursed existence. Hades has a serious and understandable lack of trust or ability to believe anyone will be straight, honest or give him a fair un biased chance in life.

In Germany a specific kind of owl almost went extinct because people thought it was an omen of death. The owls make a sound that sounds like "komm mit" (come with) so people assumed they were lurking others into their death.

They didn’t make Hades a true villain. Thank goodness because people make ruler of the underworld as synonymous with evil.

I am on hades side, I just think he didn’t trust him. He also probably didn’t want ppl to know what his goal was or they could use his motivation how he used Seraphim. I mean he tried to convince seraphim with anything else bevor telling him the story. Considering how the other gods behave he just doesn’t trust them or Heron, that’s probably why he doesn’t tell him.

I don't really see the whole Gaia summoning Typhon thing made-up since several versions mention that she had personally created him. Its the versions that say Set is Typhon and the Greek Gods fled into the forms of animals witch confuses me cause not only dose it flop time-line wise, you can't just say they all became animals cause a good quarter plus of the Gods of Egypt look human anyway! (I can't help but wonder what this animation studio is doing with Sekhmet ala their Castelvania sequel. Will they summon Set cause Chaos repels Chaos allegedly?) Coming off that book nobody should ever read 'Game of Gods' I have to say this version of Hades is an Absolute Saint compared to that overly controlletive and abusive husband that Scarlet St. Clair had fantasized about. Honest to Gods thank you Blood of Zeus thank you for making the romance between Hades and Persephone normal again. That and the de-vilification of Gaia that Rick Riordan had planted cause the Greeks had Oracles dedicated for Gaia therefore unlike what Heroes of Olympus says you won't be flung into Tartarus for worshiping/following her. She's like the Earth itself. Gentle one moment. Furious the Next! I did like Hestia too. (I'm shocked that in 15+books Rick Riordan only used her Once.) It was nice to see a Goddess whom was thought to be an harmless 'stand-by and watch' Goddess getting in there and kicking some ass. I was just bothered by Demeter. Maybe that's cause Scarlet St. Clair had utterly vilified her or something, but the plague against humanity didn't really seem... so much her thing as it would've been Apollo. Also it was really weird that Zeus didn't answer for what he did to Prometheus when they showed his torture. Like what? How!? I liked the season and I'm hoping this doesn't get cancelled, but there better be a scene in S3 were Zeus is laying strung up right beside Prometheus! I'd say 8.5 rating by my POV.
