Wild you're the only reaction on youtube to this masterpiece. Video game music is criminally underrated. With that said, Nice reaction! Invested from the get go.
There's nothing like hearing any song from. Bloodborne live, this game has the best ost I have heard this game made me appreciate orchestra and classical music like no other media had done before
Yes, yes and yes. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing throughout the whole game. And the gameplay itself is stellar, it smashes you till you're black and blue during the first run and you just keep coming back because there's nothing like it. I love all fromsofts arpgs but fuck me does bloodborne take the cake. Just unbelievable video game through and through, if this is not highest form of art then i don't know what the fuck can go under that category.
The game itself is about a never-ending nightmare, a curse upon a city in which tainted blood turned the residents into abominations. You are stuck in this nightmare, bound to endlessly hunt the beasts, and the deeper you dive into this nightmare, more and more beastly you, yourself become. The soundtrack depicts this in a nice way, and the rendition by the Swedish Symphony is really good. Literal "Stuff of nightmares" with all the red and the sweet voice.
That was my recommendation! Woohoo! This was incredible. If you want to continue your Bloodborne journey I would recommend Ludwig, The Accursed & Holy Blade!
HEY! Been hoping that you would do another one of these! The SRSO also did a suite of Mega Man tunes and Mario tunes as well. I'm not currently on your Patreon (money's a bit tight this month), but I'm planning to hop on board once payday rolls around in a couple days. For some important context, both this and the Zelda suite were part of a larger, fairly regular, concert put on by the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra from around 2015 into 2017. Footage from a couple of the performances in early 2016 was stitched together and broadcast on the Swedish public TV station, SVT, at the time. You can find a recording of the entire hour-and-a-half-long performance if you search for "Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra score". I was lucky enough to be at one of their last performances of Score for a while, in October 2017. Fortunately, it looks like they're finally bringing it back, and I'm looking forward to picking up tickets for their upcoming performance in February 2023. As someone who has worked in game development since 2005, started out in the US before moving to Sweden in 2013, and spent all of his school years playing the trombone from 4th grade up through my university years, it's been absolutely mind-blowing seeing the level of respect that this world-class orchestra brings to the table when performing these video game arrangements, both old and new.
