"I *am* him" "I'm *literally* him" "I'm probably not him though..." These are truly the emotions and struggles that Bloodborne brings to an individual. 😂
BB is one of those games I wish I could erase from my memory so I could play it again like it's my first time. In 2015, I spent like 7 months playing just BB. To this day, it's the only game I've got the Plat trophy on. So cool to see new players going to it... you're making an old man proud.
I sorta did this. Played for a few months back in 2016, decent progression, Chalice farming. Moved and gave my PS4 to my buddy. Bought a used PS4 back in March when it was clear they were never gonna port it to PC and played non-stop for like 6 months. Finally switched to No Man's Sky.
Fun fact about the music, it’s the only fromsoft game that used a real orchestra instead of computer generated midi music. Explains why it’s noticeably better than most other games.
Y’all are just wrong. Dark Souls 1 & 2 were all digitally created music. Bloodborne was full live orchestra. Dark Souls 3 may have had some live orchestral tracks but was mostly digitally created, and Elden Ring is the same. Bloodborne is the only fromsoft game with a fully live orchestrated soundtrack.
@@tharius9758 so it's not the only one. And there is no differences in quality , it's not because you record real instruments that it's better than virtual instruments. You dont even know that vi uses giant library of high quality samples , and it's very hard to notice if it's real or a vi.
As soon as i beat Blood Starved Beast i fell in love with From Soft. When i fought the same bosses in NG+ it was amazing to see how far i've come from the first time fighting them.
I'm salty he not only beat it first try but did so without fire paper. First time I experienced BSB I died constantly (this was my first fromsoft btw! Love this game).
Btw, to do a repost, large classed bosses (like Cleric beast) will take damage to their limbs, once enough damage is dealt they'll stagger. Like Elden Ring, the part where you need to be positioned to initiate the repost is generally by the head. Small classed bosses (Gascoigne & Blood-Starved beast) are susceptible to parrys and backstabs. A backstab is initiated by doing a fully charged R2 in the rear (success indicated by an audio que), afterwards can be reposted from the back. I apologize if being told about a gameplay mechanic is unwanted, but seeing you have the right idea with staggers after preforming a fully charged R2 to the back I couldn't help myself.
@@morphalta2074 "And the boss when they are bigger, for example the Cleric Beast, they have parts of their body to break and damage for a riposte." I have no idea what happened on their end.
genuinely bloodborne is the best fromsoft title. its so easy to get into it, the combat just FEELS good, and you're never short of healing items or bullets if you're willing to just fight aggressively. it rewards being hyper aggressive while most other souls titles urge you to play slow and defensive.
They were making a port, but they had problems because of covid and another launch from the company that was making it was unsuccessful so they cancelled it
Great to see you again my guy! I genuinely appreciate all the support! This game is way above my expectation and I’m loving it! Hope you will enjoy this ride as well!
Still considered the best souls game in my opinion. 300% better than the recent Lords of Fallen Here's some tips. Charge strong attack from behind an enemy will stagger most enemies, You can do stagger attack from behind an enemies to deal MASSIVE damage, scale according to your level not weapon. Try using switch weapon mode combo attack to do a longer combo. Be aggressive, it get your lost HP back, see your HP meter bar, every time you are hurt you are given a few second to hit enemies to get that HP back. Most enemies in the early game is beast type, use fire! Fire paper and Fire Bomb.
I am currently in the Forbidden Woods. I was struggling a bit, not with those small snake balls because the small snake balls you can kill by spamming R1, but the guys with the snakeheads. If you get hit once you get hit three times because of stagger, and their poison is pretty serious. It became easier for me when I realized if I transform my weapon, (I am currently using the Saw Spear) to give it longer reach, stay back, be patient, and poke (R2) them to death they become a lot more managable. (Of course, kill all the small snake balls in the area first or they will jump into the fight at the worst possible moment.) The reason I like this is that even mobs that kill you at first can be killed; not by leveling up, but by changing your strategy.
Axe in transformed mode not just staggers but straight up throws enemies back on the ground. I finished my playthrough two months ago. Took me a week or so to get through the whole game and the only time I thought about changing weapons was ROM. I tried to use these maracas looking weapons but quickly changed back to axe.
Aahhhhhh I’m so jealous right now, I’ve always wanted to play bloodborne, but always it not being on PC meant I couldn’t play it without spending A lot, hopefully you enjoy this!
I get the people like to fight Gaiscogne using the gravestones as cover, but I always fight him at the top of the stairs. Easier to parry IMHO, and no obstacles to movement. When he shoots at you, you can use height differential on the stairs or slight bend in the fencing to avoid altogether. Plus, if you get in trouble, you can run to the roof you drop onto to get red ribbon and down to give yourself some space.
I am an idiot. I led him into a corner, though an upside is that there were no gravestones. He is dead now, so it wasn’t that dumb, and I did have enough room to fight him. Yes. You have found the guy who doesn’t parry. I am here to take all of your L’s so you don’t have to.
I just came back to Yharnam for every year anniversary of Bloodborne release run with community and i truly enjoy watching new people appreciate this masterpiece. Miyazaki just shared in an interview that Bloodborne holds a special place in hearts of everyone in the studio and if they want to make a remake, or sequel, there must be a significant enough hardware jump so the new game is exceptional enough to fit its precedessors legacy. I trust Miyazaki and his creation process like no other video game director / company as a whole. When i say Miyazaki i mean all of magnificant people who worke in and with From Software ❤
Read the title and immediately started watching I love anybody's first time playthroughs of bloodborne it was actually my first dark souls game and I still go back to it at least once a year l❤ definitely look forward to more 😁😁😁
19:40 btw, you can create Blood bullets to conserve your ammo (trade a bit of health for 5 temporary Bullets which will be used first). Additionally, next to the two “giant” enemies in the house to the right you can obtain 3 to 4 (?) bullets by killing the elderly man in the wheelchair (guaranteed drop if I remember right) but as you said at least for bullets it’s easy to obtain a sufficient supply already early on
Funny thing is cleric beast is optional since nothing opens up from his boss area. Tutorial boss is Gascoigne. Sets the tone for the rest of the bosses. Fast and deadly sometimes a hunter that has succumbed to madness/ realization that hunters are the beasts they hunt.
I don't know if you want them, but here are some tips. Hope they help friend. 1. Vigor while good is not as important as strength, skill, and bloodtinge because of rally (when you get hit you can attack an enemy to recover lost health, but be mindful different weapons have different amounts of rally health recovery per hit) 2. Beast pellets will help with boss damage (the higher your beast meter the more damage done) 3. Strength weapons are more common than skill weapons, and typically do more damage. 4. Using the chalice from the Blood-starved Beast you can enter the cummmfpk dungeon it can net you around 80k Blood Echoes, I use it for shop items (mostly Blood Vials & Quicksilver Bullets though keep in mind they get more expensive as you progress through the world) but you can use it for items and leveling if you want. To effectively use it bring bold hunter marks (they send you to the last lamp you used resetting the area without you losing your Blood Echoes), and when you enter the dungeon leave the room you're in and hug the wall on your immediate left and watch a boss die through it. Once you gain the Blood Echoes use a bold hunters mark to reset the area and repeat. 5. If you press and hold circle (hold O) to sprint and then press circle quickly after releasing you will perform a jump (Hold O, O) it's why you were jumping in Blood-starved Beast. 6. When you can use them, and if you find the Moon Runes they are useful as each one increases the amount of Blood Echoes gained from killed enemies multiplicatively (cummmfpk dungeon goes from around 80k to around 140k with all three for example). 7. My final tip "Fashionborne." Your armour doesn't really matter to much so wear what you want, perhaps even cosplay as everyone's favourite evil character. Like I said hope these help.
Beastblood pelletsalso make u take more DMG so he careful. And transform attacks on most weapons fills the meter more quickly Oh and to save u many frustrations. Fight larger bosses unlocked. It sounds counterintuitive but u will thank me later
I don't know Bloodtinge affecting rally. I thought weapon type (and a rune from the DLC) affected that mechanic. bloodtinge only affects firearms, 2 rare weapons, and a single Magic item. most builds do fine ignoring it IMO
I Literally laughed so hard when I watched you take on the 1st creature bear handed as Brace Yourself....... I went through almost the entire 1st stage with nothing but my hands😂 raging out sometimes, walking away, considering uninstalling it,wondering when I was gonna eventually get a weapon cause it doesn't tell u very well but when I figured out I could get a weapon that whole time I flew through the 1st stage!
You talk way to much while playing, how do you process talking that much and playing at the same time? lol Anyways, its always great to see someone playing Bloodborne for the first time, more considering the souls games you played before this one.
So a couple of fun tricks in this is you can find a music box that when played staggers Gascoigne. The small beastmen fear torch light & will back away from you in fear. Which is why some wear the sheets to blind themselves. While the Bloodstarved beast can be distracted by throwing a consumable that's made with blood.
The charged attacks in the back is how you do a backstab in Bloodborne. The game is super fast, so it's a high risk high reward action. Other enemies like Cleric Beast may react more to headshots, but the average gamer doesn't try moving their target focus. I do recommend try hitting different body parts to see what happens. Usually it's the more human sized enemies that can get pistol parried, so Bloodstarved Beast is actually prone to them.
"What hurts you my guy ?". You clearly have no idea what has transpired. The beast was not actually a beast. If you haven't watched the bloodborne explanation i don't want to spoil the surprise. I'm myself just started playing this game for the first time about a month ago. I would say bloodborne is the closest to perfect game i have ever played. Above elden ring
The biggest hurdle for people coming to Bloodborne from other Fromsoft games is that you have to be aggressive in this game. If you try poke combat like Dark Souls or get stuck in a dodge-heal loop like Elden Ring, you get decimated.
Best part of the first enemy is you actually got a stagger, but you decided to go for the face. Little did you know that you should try finger, but hole.
I really wish I was in your shoes right now. I remember my first BB playthrough as the best gaming experience I'd ever had up to that point. And it s still up there in my list. Have fun bro, and enjoy the stunning artwork and atmosphere. Fear the old blood.
very good job on the blood-starved beast. I went almost insane on that boss. It took me a few days to beat it. There were only 2 more difficult bosses in the entire game (for me)
Jeez, he got through the Cleric Beast in 2 tries, Gascoigne in just as many, and beat the Blood-Starved Beast first try? Damn, people don’t usually adapt this quickly, even those who’ve beaten other FromSoftware games before.
Just adding a comment to say to for new hunters of bloodborne; Welcome to the Hunt. May the good blood guide your way. Also, long full playthrough videos are accepted.
2 things yo asked about: 1. you jump by spriting and then rolling at the same time 2. you can stagger enemy's by ussing the gun or fully charged hevy attack behind them. and when they are staggerd you can do a attack called visceral. you can do this attack from infront (like most other games) but also from behind so dont wast time trying to get infront of them. Hope this helps. keep it up your doing great
You are literally the only one RU-vidr who recognized this essential fact in the first episode of Bloodborne gameplay: you can just walk around any beasts, and there is nothing they can do to you.
in my mind, when you do the "translation - You're great" at cleric boss, for some reason, it makes me feel like you are a younger Egg Shen, but instead of a 6 demon bag to battle the demons with... you simply haven't "gotten gud" yet and only have a 1 demon bag, well, actually you just have the bag. But you'll grow up to be in one of the GREATEST "chineseploitation" movies ever (not counting any of the shaw bro's straight from mainland dubbed masterpieces of the 60's and 70's) ,,, but rather the BIG one, the best, Big Trouble in little China. "When a goat butts its head against the bush, its horns become entangled!" - Egg Shen
Idk why this was recommended to me 8 months after the fact but I ADORE Bloodborne. Despite all the love I have for all the Soulsborne games, there is a reason a lot of people call the genre "soulsBORNE". Bloodborne genuinely has such a wonderful setting, amazing ideas, perfect aesthetics (for me at least). Fear the old blood, find Paleblood, good luck with your hunt, Good Hunter (even though these sentiments probably come late and you already finished it lol)
I know that you are way ahead of this now but you should definitely do a second playthrough because you mentioned bold hunters marks but you could have gotten some already by talking to a very important npc really just exploring so that you can find all the npcs and unravel the whole story
Just finished Bloodborne didn’t realise you could fight ghernam, honestly fantastic game, elden ring was my first followed by ds3, tried demon souls and it was too slow, ds remastered felt the same, ds2 I got bored after a bit then played bloodborne, hated it at first then grew to love it and beat it at 27 hours
I have one word of advice: PLAY AGGRESSIVELY. You get additional healing sources just by attacking as long as you have orange in your health bar, and the visceral attack fully restores the entirety of the orange part back into HP. Yes, even the damage taken by making blood bullets can be restored by immediately attacking enemies. There are later enhancements that further improve visceral attacks in other ways, but when you start getting hunter tools (the game's equivalent of spells), the one called the Auger of Ebrietas is probably the only one that you'll use since (after one of the updates) it has the ability to backstab AND parry attacks for the price of one bullet while the other tools tend to get expensive (so do some of the guns, but that's beside the point).
If I've platinumed and max new gamed it all the way through and what an amazingly incredible title. I can COMPLETELY understand everyone shouting for a sequel (same), but it looks like this will get the Legacy of Kain treatment. Oh well... Welcome to the hunt Bloodbro and I hope everyone picking up this title enjoys it as much as I did! 🔥Great video!🔥
Hey, I'm new to the channel. I gotta say: to this day I still base the value of Bloodborne weapons to me based on the Rally mechanic. That's the official name for the health you recover if you attack right after being attacked. I cannot, for the life of me, play this game properly and without trading hits with just about everything.
The saw cleaver has serration damage which is good against beast which is why your damage is pretty it’s also why the saw cleaver is a favorite for most
That moment when you first meet the cleric beast...Ah, it is just so perfect...Like "oh a nice open area, perfect now i ca- what the fuck is that?...Whats that music. Damn its really go-JESUSIOZDGHdg *dead*
