This game is amazing. Officially declared Bloodborne as my favorite out of all the Soulsborne games (YOU HEARD IT HERE). Lookin' at Dark Souls 3 to top that. -- Watch live at / lobosjr
Up until my elusive wife is wed to me, ludwig's OST will be the single most important thing, and it mau remain so even past the marriage and possible children
This DLC alone, much like the old Shivering Isle DLC for Oblivion and few precious others, it's sold for a honest price and outclasses almos all AAA releases for it's sheer quality.
@@lucapiemonti3584 shiveri- pff this is Tribunal quality, best of the best, then you take the best of that best, then you do it again and then you do it again and then you do it again and then

All of the DLC's boss music is fucking amazing. This DLC elevated Bloodborne to the top of the Souls games for me. Solved the only problem with Bloodborne for me, which was a lack of armor and equipment.
I'll continue to say this but Bloodborne has the greatest ost in the entire series so far. The amount of bosses with an amazing soundtrack is so high. Dark Souls 3 seems like it will continue this judging from the main menu theme.
2:22:37 this is a great moment. Usually when you see an enemy doing an AoE you just stay out range and wait idly until the shockwave dissipates or the enemy goes back in normal stance. That's what Lobos did, except then he was like "wait, he isn't done... Holy shit he's not done!". Essentially, by just waiting it out of range, lobos got played like a damn fiddle lol.
+Francis Lafontaine. É. Is it weird that when I first saw that attack, I somehow knew/assumed he was gonna shoot a forward blast and wondered why Lobos was hanging around in front of him? I mean, he does have several projectiles, and two close range AoEs, so it just made sense to me that he'd combine them for a ranged AoE. To be honest, I'm not really interested in BloodBorne that much. I'm more into Dark Souls, in which I have over 250 hours of gametime in on Steam. Still, I've been watching a lot of Lobos' Dark Souls game play, and even DS2 even though it's bleh, so I figured I might as well watch his BloodBorne stuff too.
Crear scene. He is kicking ludwig ass, ludgiw try to repell him with aoe but gets knocked down, rises again and here the Music goes on, does again the stance while libia retreat, calls for the moonlight and booom. Awesome
@@omarct there may not be a whole lot that comes to mind but I don't think this track is the best in every video game in existence, but imo this is my favorite track in this game
I come back to this video every so often just to watch lobos' first reaction to second phase and music, and also his reaction to the super slam. Good stuff Lobos, never change.
I just finished everything there is to do in the DLC. Amazing, simply amazing. I couldn't ask for anything else (well, maybe another boss) Everything I expected and more
It seems like Ludwig is Bloodborne's Artorias. Epic boss, was once this heroic knight or leader that eventually succumbed to great misfortune. Getting all that special cutscene like treatment.
Dark Souls set the basis for Artorias like bosses, Dark Souls 2 had Sir Allone/Raime, depends really, this game has Ludwig, Dark Souls 3 better have one, all of them are fast as fuck aggressive jerks too.
they're both left handed and inspired a group of people to follow in his footsteps and eventually fell to the same misfortune as their leader (for Artorias it's the abyss watchers who fell into the abyss, and for Ludwig it's the healing church hunters who became drunk from blood)
Souldymono Well, we got Champion Gundyr and The Nameless King. Epic bosses in their own rights, but a bit easier than their predecessors, if only because we as players are now veterans.
HiddenWen Fuck Gundyr he kicked my ass too many times for s boss everyone else found easy. Nameless King can only really compare to the past bosses though, Gundyr has the aggressiveness but not really the difficulty after a while, all the past bosses were still hard as fuck after multiple playthroughs
@@blade8800 5 or 4 years too late, but if you search up "Texas man fisting a dead horse for 48 minutes", Lobos' NG+7 fists only fight comes up first :^)
Every year or so I come back to this video, and every time Lobos sees Ludwig phase 2 for the first time, I'm reminded of why this is my favourite game of all time.
+Alex Solis I really hope it isn't he last one but from the amount of content I doubt there will be anymore either. It's a shame though, my hopes for a cainhurst DLC is fading.
That is saddening but I'm glad they are quitting while they are ahead you know? I don't want it to turn into a stale formula and from to be known as a one trick pony cause they have a ton of talent and great ideas. Hopefully they spawn a new franchise which is bigger and better. Part of me feels that even though Miyazaki said it\ll be the last and even from agrees with him I bet they will make another one sometime in the future, especially if funders push them hard enough.
+Andrew Glenn Hold on a sec guys its not over just yet. Yes miyazaki said dark souls3 and bloodborne is the last one BUT he did say he is making something Like BLOODBORNE so yes it is not over yet
The only thing about this dlc that makes me sad is the fact that it ends >:( Seriously though, if you don't have the dlc, buy it. If you don't have bloodborne, buy it. If you don't have a ps4, sell your pc / xbone / wii u / spouse and buy it.
Fair enough! Personally, I didn't mind it too much. The second one is my least favourite, reminds me of celestial emissary too much. I think the clock tower boss is my favourite.
I love his reaction to the first time he experiences the Ludwig transition into his second stage--I'm playing through the game again for the 15th or so time myself, this being October and all. One of the best bosses in Soulsborne, period. I think most players got their asses kicked after that for the simple fact they were so shocked at seeing the Moonlight Greatsword. I think Ludwig is the first boss to wield the weapon in any of the games, unless I'm mistaken. If you've been playing them since Demon's Souls like me, it's a big moment. Sorry, I'm getting all excited three years after the fact, lol. My favorite game of all time
" I think most players got their asses kicked after that for the simple fact they were so shocked at seeing the Moonlight Greatsword. " Or because his attacks on second phase are BS, too much tracking, spamming (in NG+ and higher), sword swing animations are misleading, and finally his fucking AoE blast... Great boss though xD
no boss has ever had the moonlight greatsword before Ludwig, though you get it through boss souls in the dark souls games. Also, hi from two years after your message was posted. also also, yeah, its a huge moment for those of us who've been playing since Demon's Souls - just as big a moment as the remake of Demon's Soul - the moonlight greatsword is also the weapon i used in my first time beating Demon's Souls, and it is my favourite weapon in the game
@@ryanp5221 Hey two years later! Yeah my favorite Demon’s Souls build is faith using Sword of Moonlight. Cuts thru shields and all around badass. Haven’t played the remake yet-can’t afford a PS5. But maybe in a few months I’ll be able to get one.
Okay, I've just beaten Ludwig and I must say he encapsulates everything I love about the Souls series. I couldn't even summarise it all in one comment- there's just so much to love!
1:35:00 Ludwig's first phase 2:12:32 Lobos's reaction to Ludwig the Holy Blade 2:22:30 Lobos's reaction to Ludwig's biggest attack 3:23:16 Lobos finally killing Ludwig
Rewatching this four years later (god damn, where did the time go?) and it is just as much fun as it was the first time. Especially some of the reactions, like the MLG reveal or Ludwig's huge attack. Literally grinning here watching it. Thanks again for all this.
3 years late, but same. I'm not against people using summons if they wanna but I love seeing the 1v1, you get to see them learn the move sets and improve. I'd rather watch someone die 30 times but improve with each fight as they learn the tells, than watch someone only die once but win just by mobbing them with two other summons and never really learning the AI. I always find it annoying to learn and counter moves with summons because the boss keeps changing where their aggro is going, so you end up with them running around unpredictably, doing long range attacks when you're close, or close range when you're far away etc.
@@Spamhard same here. I was watching a ds1 playthrough and the guy summoned for o&s. And he defends that fact with all of his life. saying it's not cheese or lame because it's intended and in the game... stopped watching there. The guys rage was funny but turned insufferable at times. Lobos is so much better
@@genesisosuna Yeah, some get defensive about it. Again, I'm fine if people wanna play with summons, but for me, these sorta vids are great because you get to see someone experience everything in their own time.
@@Spamhard yeah I sworn to not summon in these games, the only time I summoned was for frigid outskirts because I was sick and tired of that area. But I dont understand defending summoning... it very clearly is cheese, and what a worse is that he compared using summons to using estus... like no. Not at all.
@@genesisosuna Frigid outskirts along with the optional areas in the other DLCSs designed for Co-op so I don't see a problem summoning there. I agree that summons are usually cheese. I mean there isn't a single enemy in the games designed to fight more than 1 player at once. Some bosses and enemies just become stunlock to death because of multiplayer like Soul of Cinder which robs players of an epic dual they would have had otherwise.
I think this is my favourite Lobos content so far. The DLC was great, and Lobos was already really into the base game. It all just worked out perfectly. I don’t have a PS4, this is how I experienced this part of the game.
Watching Lobos fight phase 2 Ludwig for the first time just puts a smile on the face. We all reacted that way to the ost. Just watched some Zeus so thought I'd come see this again.
Ludwig second base is just so goddamn beautiful :3 Dat music while he just relentlessly smashes you with that gigantic sword. Its so beautiful i think i have to cry for a bit now. I also remember trying to roll from his long jump :) and its actually so much more easy to evade
Personally, I think the best part of this entire DLC... Is that someone had to do voice acting for Ludwig's insane whinnies when you talk to him after you kill him.
I'm just got the dlc yesterday and I'm seriously getting destroyed. I haven't played in awhile and I'm on NG+4 so a lot of the hunters almost kill me with one hit...But it is amazing so far!!!!! So much to explore.
the way fan service is incorporated into bloodborne is so much more fitting than in dks2. that mlgs intro is so fucking epic that you don't need to be familiar with it to appreciate it. vs some random npc just sitting doing nothing waiting for you to move a statue.
This is insane, how many times am I gonna watch Ludwig. I'm gonnab eat him the first time just because I've watched this so much. The idea of fighting this many times is gonna terrify me and I'll go ham and win just to avoid it, so thanks Lobo ^_^
After 5+ days of gameplay including beating the DLC and only now I'm noticing that you actually inject the blood into your right leg when using a blood vial! Makes sense that the old hunters used to think that beast hood creeps up the right leg.
I see a lot of people saying that, and I'm not attacking you or anybody else personally, but I don't see that at all Would you mind telling me what you like about the alonne theme so much?
+Jared Lucus I'm not very fond of Dark Souls 2, I especially disliked the ost for the most part. I think most people enjoyed just how good it is compared to most of the other soundtracks in the game. The beginning starts with a chorus that sounds majestic and it continues to intensify as the fight goes on. It's what so good about Bloodborne's ost which is currently the best From has produced yet.
+Jared Lucus Part of what Ruben says above, it does outclass all the other OSTs, but what I really like about his theme, and his fight, is that it gives the image of dancing around each other, striking and evading, giving and taking.
+Ruben Don't have anything to say about Bloodborne's music for the most part (though I did like what little I heard, Father Gascoigne's theme for instance, it's by the guy who scored Elysium and Blackhat if I'm not mistaken?), but I will say I liked 2's soundtrack more than 1's for the most part. Too much overblown Lord of the Rings bombast in 1's music. 2 went for creepier themes for many songs which I liked better (i.e. Flexile Sentry, Lost Sinner, The Rotten, Royal Rat Authority, Demon of Song). Nothing "catchy" but catchiness I don't consider an automatic mark of quality. And when it did go for "grandiosity" it didn't feel either overly maudlin or like a bunch of choral singers screaming in my face trying to sound as "epic" as possible (Alonne's theme is indeed great, Sinh the Slumbering Dragon was successful too). 1 did have some OSTs that I'm fond of (Artorias, Nito, Four Kings, Ash Lake, Moonlight Butterfly/Gwyndolin, and Gwyn is interesting for a final boss theme even if comes close to bordering on "too maudlin" at points), but I thought the soundtrack was a step down from Demon's Souls music, which is really underrated in my mind (bring back the screechy strings, bassoons, funeral marching drums, harpsichords and church organs pls). Personally I'm sick of hearing Sif's and O&S's themes already (the Space Jam remix of O&S saved it).
For me all of ds2 and to and extent bloodborne ost felt way too bombastic, as if every song was trying it copy the OnS theme but Lady Marias and Lufwigs theme trample over ds2 OST
1:28:15 - the thing he's referring to here in case someone is unaware, someone asked about a certain boss by name; the -correct- way to ask, in my opinion, is simply "hey, what's the last boss you fought?" This allows the person who has already played through the game to gauge where the new player is without the new player being spoiled. I know it may seem like a 'meh' thing, but seriously...When you're invested in something, it kinda sucks to have that taken away from you
One thing I found with the charge, of you dash at JUST the right moment INTO the charge, he'll carry you with him and you can attack him while he is charging
Also love that you purposefully don't make the boss fights too easy on first playthroughs so you can enjoy what you see. :3 Coulda beast pelleted and potentially shrecked, but instead you took your time to learn and see all he had to offer.
