that must not hurt that much if that is the case. My puppy avoided hen with little chicks eversince he got attack because he got curious. Just a sound from small chicks makes him run to me for cover, even when he got big, nope still afraid of hen with chicks in tow. He is cool with chicken, but when he saw there are little chicks in tow, he run away so fast it makes me feel bad.

some dog will retreat after got a few needle on their face but these 2 dog is a Hunter dog race, it's natural for them to keep attacking the Porcupine, and hardly to let it go. if it's a Samoyed, Boston Terrier, Corgi or Dalmatian, it wouldn't be same case.

It may be “instinctually dumb” by this Doctors standards but these dogs can actually perform a duty, task and or job. No hunting dog will back down from an animal. I’ve had shorthair pointers skunked twice in their lives. At the end of the day, I’ll take my “dumb” dog over a pointless dog that serves no purpose. It’s instinct kicking in. There is no inner dialogue when a hunting dog is out in the field.

This clip makes me tear up. Not because I feel upset for the dogs (I do though) but because this was my Pappy and I’s favorite show to watch together. He passed away when I was 9 in 2015. My whole world broke that day, but I haven’t been ready to love the shows that we loved to watch together the same until now. We should’ve had at least 20 more years together, but I’m glad he left before Covid hit, it would’ve definitely killed him. He was 66 when he passed and most of it had to do with agent Orange from the Vietnam war. I miss him so much and it’s hard to think that he won’t see me graduate high school and get married or have a baby. He’s here in spirit, I know he is, i feel him a lot. But it’s just not the same as him being here physically. This December 11th will be 7 years without him. My childhood wasn’t how I wanted it to be, but I’m happy I had him at all. Miss you pappy, fly high with Elvis :)

( this is true BTW ) So my mom has a routine where she let's my dogs outside before going to bed, one night my big dog stayed out for a while while my small dog came in. The big dog ended up coming in full of cactus thorns all in her mouth and ears and she likes to chase lizards and you know... Kill them. So she came in crying and my mom was in her bed. Her light was off and she thought my dog had a few goat heads in her paws so she called me to look at it in the living room, so i did and i started petting her and i felt a poke. I looked at her and saw hundereds of cacuts throns all in her paws and mouth, in her nose in ears. So i told my mom and she looked at her and screamed. Litery screamed. My sister ran out of her room and saw my mom crying. My mom told us that she might have to be seduced ( I think) To get the thorns out but my sister said no and she took her that whole night pulling them out . it took 4 days. Now she's been staying far away from our cactus if your still reading this thanks for your time!

María Mercedes I feel like since he has worked for so many years as a vet he thinks he has the right to deal with the animals in his own way without a bit more of consideration for the owner and for the pets 🙄 I stopped watching his vids sometime back but this popped up and I got interested on how you would remove those spikes.. anyways I hate the way he sometimes sarcastically jokes about the animals situations and makes fun of it like it’s the animals fault😪

Whenever we have had any problems with porcupine quills, we cut the tips off first which breaks the suction and they pull out much easier. We don’t often have problems with porcupines of which I am very thankful.

I had a Dr. Poe in Long Beach Ca. He looks exactly like Dr. Poe. He left the clinic. He is a super veterinarian. He saved one of my dogs from parvovirus. 👍
