I've never seen a porcupine before in my life. But you have to admit, just getting your hand skewered and jabbed by the quills of that porcupine is the most absolute painful experience to date. And I honestly doubt anyone would want to sign up for acupuncture treatments by a porcupine.

Porcupines are literally the perfect defense, it doesn't matter who attacks it, ANY PREDATOR who tries to touch it will instantly get quilled and regret their decision while the porcupine literally just stands there doing it's thing

Correction: 3:42 It is simply a misconception that cutting embedded porcupine quills will “deflate” them, making it easier to remove them. Cutting the shaft makes the quill splinter more easily which ultimately makes it harder to remove. It may also allow for segments of quills to become lodged in the tissues.

Saw this when it first came out, years later after learning more stuff I have returned to warn people. DO NOT CUT OFF THE TIPS OF THE QUILLS. This does not release pressure and make it easier to pull out, it is a huge myth that many people believe. Cutting the tips may cause the quill to splinter or if you cut too much it can make it harder to pull out.

Well if you’re doing it yourself there isn’t really any special thing you can do to make it easier, getting medical help would be best but if you’re on your own, then just gotta deal with the minor pain, if it’s not very deep then just pulling them would be fine.

I've been quilled before. He took it like a champ. While the quills hurt (I'd compare them to a bee sting), what hurts the absolute most is taking them out. That is absolute hell.

@Margaret Brenner also the 4th time I forgot I wasn't supposed to stand behind my friend's cow and I got kicked in the left eye. But surprisingly since the cow was a bull it kicked pretty hard, and I don't know how I didn't have a black eye. But the 1st time I felt a very bad pain was when I was skipping stones with my friend Patrick by the creek near my old house and he had to get my mama because he'd accidentally hit me on the top of my head in the middle and I fainted for about 10 seconds and woke up with blood on my face and it was getting in my eyes.
