Hey man I've been watching your videos of lure molding so much, its because I'm trying to design a lure that has a mesh around the outside soft plastic to keep the bait intact when a fish with teeth bites the bait, how would you go about doing this? Or do you think there is a better solution instead of mesh. I'm 17 and I'm really dedicated to designing this and making a company to sell them. I just wanted to know if you have any suggestions for you expertise. Thank you.
I'd like to have a mold that you can shoot the top half above the lateral line one color and the bottom half below lateral line another color. Would you happen to know of any molds available that you can do that with???
I have the BL mold. What is your secret for getting the BL to adhere properly to the bait. I use a warm mold and injector, plastic 350-370 Thanks also love the vids
This is awesome! Can you recommend something similar in a larger size. I'm looking to replace my bigger Keitech and Gambler swimbaits (around 7"-8") The hook slots are a must! A shallow slot on the top for weedless rigging would be great but that might be asking too much. Thanks
for a mondo size swimbait look at the stankx baits hand pour molds. Also, this exact bloodline mold does come in a 6" version now. But the 7-8 inch molds I use come from stankx.
Cool mold! Great video! Keep it up! How deep do the blood line and eye sockets go into the mold? 1/16”? Just in case you didn’t want to use the bloodline or eyes with the mold to just make a solid color and have the bait still look good. Thank you.
allow at least 24 hours to cure..the best way to cure is to remove from the molds and drop them in a bowl of water for a few minutes..then hang to cure on a rack..I just lay them out flat myself..but the best way to cure is to take the steps I mentioned.
Very cool to see how these are made! First of your video's ive seen, will be going back and watching more. Do you have a video on how these molds work since there is no air escape? Just boggles my mind. lol there has to be some science behind it that i'm not getting. The injectors are dual chambered? One side pulls air while the other side pushes the plastic?
Injection bait molds have tiny air vents cut inside the bait cavity to let air escape. The plastic essentially pushes out the air through these vents. Thank you for watching the videos.
@@WorldsWorstFishing Ahh, that makes sense. Just couldnt see the air vents. Thanks for the reply! Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see what you do with @marlinbaits Frog mold
Super video! A.I. should pay you a commission. Will these be for sale in your baitshop? Bet a all silver with a black or red bloodline would work great.
haha thank you. Anything on my channel I can sell for sure..this mold is like brand new and I am trying it out..so its not on my website or anything..but anyone can contact me and buy some.
Just getting started with shooting my own paints and have watched a number of your videos. Do you put scents in your baits? If you do what you recommend as the best process? If you don’t’ why not? Thanks
Man I seen another company do these and they're pretty cool. Those ones you did look awesome.e if those don't get bit idk what would. That's a really nice mold though nice with hook slot too even. Sweet video as always man!
I spoke too soon. Most of the shots I've done on their core shot mold haven't actually been core shots. They've just been regular stick baits. I have a core shot sitting on my desk and yesterday I noticed a small dimple in it so I went out into the garage to see if it would happen again. The mold shoots perfectly as a stick bait but I can't get it to shoot properly once I put the rods in. Even the sprue has dimples every time. To be clear, this only happens when shooting a shell for a core shot. The actual core shots are easy peasy but I'll be damned if I can get the shells to shoot properly. The instructions Josh sent with the mold say to shoot the shell at 310-325. I've done that, and 300 and 330 and 340 and 350 and 360, heck I've done 310, 315, 320, and 325. All with the same results. Some shots will have more dimples than others but the best shot I've done so far only had 3/5 good baits. Usually it was only 1 or 2. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but if you have any ideas I'm all ears.
Probably 6 hours of testing but I finally figured it out and now even the shells are shooting properly. :) It was how long to hold pressure once you've shot the mold. The instructions said to hold for 20 seconds but I live in Denver (Mile High City and atmospheric pressure is lower?) and 20 seconds isn't nearly long enough. At forty seconds there was still one minor dimple in one of the baits and at 50 all the dimples were gone. I've duplicated it several times so now it's good to go on all cylinders. :) Good thing I noticed that dimple before I started bagging/selling baits!
Ok this video has put more fuel on the fire. I want this mold and I now want to make a bait more then any bait I've seen. Have you ever done a how to get started and where to buy video?
Awesome video as always Chris. Has my mind going crazy with ideas for the blood lines and swirl patterns. About to order mine today, :(.. I'm gonna be broke with this addiction LMBO
World's Worst Fishing: So all the European Fishermen can only admire your work, start drooling about those shad and just sit here with our hands tied behind our back??
Sweet, bro. I actually hate the color I'm about to tell you but no one can say that it doesn't work.. Just plain Jane white. I think those red eyes would look sick on white.
