Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon - Easy Allies Review 

It's a castlevania clone. And I mean that in the best way possible. I highly recommend it.

I'm really happy this game saw the dark of night. To me, the most crucial part about this game isn't the gameplay, the Castlevania likeness or the bosses. The best part of this minigame is that it sets up the story for the main game, while also gaining our attachment to the characters. Playing Miriam in Ritual of the Night whenever it releases will feel slightly more familiar than it would without this game's existence. I'm looking forward to the next! - Another thing, this franchise isn't as stuck as Castlevania was. Castlevania was almost entirely based on defeating Dracula over & over again. Question is, what is more worth for franchises, a strong arch enemy? (Dracula, Bowser, Dr Wily) Or more of a theme(this being gothic) connected to the franchise that game after game creates unique final bosses? Hm.

Played it through last weekend and loved it. Even on Nightmare mode it's too easy if you're used to Castlevania, but it's still a lot of fun for such a low price.

This games "Ultimate Mode" is a speedrunners treat, letting you begin the games with all of Zangetsu's special moves, including a running dash and a double jump that keeps the momentum from the dash, loads of fun!

Great review as always, though it's worth mentioning (though you kinda did) that there's 5 distinct endings.

Definitely recommend this game. It really encourages you to take your time just like Castlevania and Dark Souls. Nightmare Mode has easily one of the most satisfying final bosses to date. Plus it's only ten dollars. I give it a 10/10 because there is literally nothing wrong with it. While it is rather short it is a full package and has a price tag to match.

Dude the end of the review with the coins...was really annoying and grating. Other than that, a fantastic review as always. Thank you for helping me decide to get this game. At first I was very suspicious of this title. I had no idea we had another Castlevania title so close to the re-release of Symphony and Rondo. Furthermore, this release is not named Castlevania nor can you find it on the PSN or XBLA by typing Castlevania.

Free on Xbox next month! Can't wait

I kind of wish this was done in a art style similar to Rondo or Bloodlines. It's just that 8-bit nostalgia throwbacks are so overdone that even when a great one comes around, I'm just numb to it. I want 32-bit style throwbacks to Saturn style 2D.

My only problem with the game is that most bosses aren't interesting to fight once you beat them once. There's little room for player expression, it's mostly about waiting for your opportunity to attack.

It's perfect! 8.0 I kid. On a 1-5 scale this would be an easy 4/5. This is a shockingly well-realized tribute to old-school 'vania.
