Thanks so much for these videos, they've made me one of the best limited players at my LGS. My first sealed with OTJ and came in 4/16, then I did an OTK draft and was 1/6, then for MH3 sealed I came in 1/16, and then for MH3 draft I came in 2/8. Learning I love sealed more than commander, just wish it was more affordable. Thanks for all your hard work!!! #BloomDrafter

I appreciate how early you start getting content out for new sets. I'm surprised how low you ranked white as I expect white aggro (esp RW) to be the best strategy, at least early in the format. I'll be very happy if I'm wrong though, as I enjoy more mid-speed sets.

One of the things I try to emphasize with color rankings is that colors are usually pretty close together. The way it is displayed visually in my video does not convey this point as effectively as I'd like, but I always mention it is more of a tiebreaker than anything. For example, even in a set where Red is better than Blue, if I first pick a Blue card I'm still going to be happier taking a Blue card second than a similarly powerful Red card (despite the color ranking). Another factor in ranking can be if the cards only fit in one strategy, as that makes them less flexible. Imagine a world where Red White is the best, but the White cards only really fit into that strategy. In that scenario, if I first pick a White card and Red isn't open, the odds of me playing that White card are much lower because the White card doesn't fit as well in the other color combos. That lack of flexibility would then lower White in a color ranking because in the aggregate it would perform worse than its potential "best deck." I'm glad you enjoyed the video and hopefully this clarifies things a bit.

I would like to add some observations after some drafts I played. 1) Selesnya and Simic decks are really strong, they have great combos. 2) Gossip's talent is a good card, despite how mentioned in the video. I lost a match because my oppo had it. Having an imblocable creature just for 4 mana is great. 3) there are no double lands, so it is not a good practise to go for 3 colors decks, better to stay on 2 (maybe it was obvious but a mention was mandatory).

Interesting. It doesn't seem like it does anything crazy to me other than being a Changeling and therefore a Dwarf for Magda. I'm probably missing something.

I see the logic behind your reasoning, but Long River's Pull is a hard counter for any creature spell, just like Essence Scatter. In such a set I wouldn't call it a trap. The gift option is just an option that I wouldn't choose if I didn't have to.

Costing UU instead of 1U makes it significantly worse than Essence Scatter and the Gift option does not redeem that weakening of the card. If it was just 1U with the Gift text tacked on the card would be good.

Flexibility means that you don't commit to your colors too quickly and are willing to read signals to find what's open. Being willing to abandon your first pick is a classic example of being flexible.

I think you misread Hazardroot Herbalist, it doesn't trigger for each creature attacking but only 1 time per attack, so if you have the 3 rabbit tokens and attack with all only 1 of them is turning into a 2/1 deathtouch

I didn’t misread it. I fully understand what the card does. It’s a good card because in a board stall sending a random 1/1 in every turn as a 2/1 with Deathtouch (if it’s a token) lets you chip away in scenarios where you’d normally be stuck.

Side note, most Expend cards are triggered when you expend 4, but there’s a couple that care about 6 and 8

I think there’s only 1 Rare in the set that cares about Expend 8 (everything else is Expend 4), but there could be others in one of the Commander decks or something. Luckily the mechanic is pretty self explanatory for if there is a card that isn’t Expend 4.

Expend 4 is all that we see on Commons and Uncommons. You are totally right that there is a Rare with Expend 8 in the Draft format. Good call!

I've actually never played Two Headed Giant (something I will have to rectify at some point because I've heard it's a lot of fun). From what I understand though, keep an eye out for cards that say, "each opponent," because those are amplified in the format because you have two opponents.

I'm a little confused about the hazardroot herbalist and the hop to it combo. Does hazrdroot trigger for each attacking token/creature? or does it trigger one time when you attack? If it's for each attacking creature that seems kind of busted. I'm asking because you said "Imagine turning each of those 1/1 rabbit tokens into 2/1 deathtouchers"

It triggers one time with each attack. I was referring to sending in the tokens one by one over the course of multiple turns and opponents having to deal with them.

Blue feels like the worst one, but draft is self correcting, so any color that's open enough is usually worth playing.

13:39 if you have three 1/1 token and a herbalist in field, if you Attack With your three tokens the ability will trigger just once, right? So you will attack with just one 2/1 creature and not three 2/1 creatures, right?

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Reptilian Recruiter can give himself Haste because he just says, "choose target creature," which can include himself. With regards to Giant Growth, it is a card in the Starter Kit, not something you will find in Play Boosters. The Card Image Gallery has a bunch of filter options and you have to be careful of which cards are in booster packs that you will draft with versus being included in Commander decks or things like that.

I just started playing magic and will be going to a bloomburrow sealed tournament this week, any reccomendation on which combo i should try to go for if I have any chance to win, if i am lucky to get the cards that is.

Sealed is really a case of building the best deck with the cards you have available. It's not like Draft where you have a bit more agency to steer towards a particular deck. I would recommend building a solid two color deck rather than trying to do anything too fancy. If you're new, building a deck can be overwhelming, so try to make the process as straightforward for yourself as possible.

Counterspells tend to get a little better in Sealed because the format is slower. One of the reasons I think it's a Trap is because I think players will take it too highly in the Draft portion, so if you have one in Sealed and a deck that can support the double Blue cost I think it is alright to play.

I'm undefeated in my LGS as far as pre release drafts go because I literally draft fliers and any counters I can fit into a 40 card deck. Yeah the strategy aspect is great and all but being slapped by 2/2 fliers every turn as their numbers increase is always the game winning strategy. ***Update lost 1 round out of 3 matches total. Drafted bats with sinister monolith and lunar convocation, drained opponents while keeping them at bay with bats that had life link vigilance GG easy***
