This movie really runs you through the emotional gamut. I still always chuckle at the opening POV "film within a film" where steadicam inventor Garrett Brown is reduced to shooting an early '80s dormitory slasher. 😆
Yet another review that justifies my opinion that you're the best reviewer on RU-vid!! Always look forward to your stuff. I'm also a big DePalma fan and agree that this is one of his best along with 'Carlito's Way' and 'Casualties of War'. Seeing as you're a fan, I recommend you watch the documentary 'DePalma'. It's a great career retrospective as told by the man himself! Keep up the awesome work, good sir! An Andrew Cavanaugh fan from Canada.
Saw it at a premier in Miami when it opened. I was 16. It was ignored and even panned by some critics. Never understood the disregard for this well made film. I think they were just dumping on Travolta mostly because critics just wanted him to remain a "lightweight" actor. It's actually very good in every way.
Watched the 4K of Heat and first time seeing the film the release I found pleasing but I was watching on a Sony 85" 4K LED LCD I was in a pitch black room and had Bias lighting behind the screen. I would recommend playing with a Bias Lighting source behind your tv as a strip of Warm White lighting is pretty cheap and helps with eye strain, perceived colour, Contrast and brightness as your eyes are able to relax.
