Those cabin air filters are really expensive to replace at most shops and especially at the dealer. You have saved a lot of people a good chunk of dough for a real easy fix. Cheers! :)
Nice job!! Have a Toyota RAV4 so I figured try to take out the box and just see if my vehicle is similar.. found the filters right away and it was completely filthy. This is the very first time I’ve been able to diagnose a problem “on my own” and fix it and all from info I gathered from your video!! So thx for this video!!
You are my wife's hero tonight! We are entering a heat wave. 2015 Honda Fit EX. She went through a car wash today with the air conditioning on. After, she could hear something running beneath the dashboard - but no air conditioning or heat. I was getting ready to replace the blower motor resistor but it looked too good and I am not the best at electrical troubleshooting. I decided to do a few last searches after experiencing the blower motor loudly running after I removed the glove box and lower glove box cover. She was really happy. She gets to keep commuting to work with no sweat. The filter was physically wet. I am going to replace the filter and discard the current one. Thank you!
It worked on my Malibu 2017. It was so bad that rear windows would fog up. I took the cabin filter off and started my car to know if it was "the problem", and there it was that brilliant warm breeze blowing through the vents lol. I soaked cabin filter in hot detergent water and run it through clean hot water, and let it dry. Sprayed some air freshner to it after it was dry and put it back. Started my car and it smells so......................... good lol. Thanks for this video :)
Thank you so much for this video. I have a 2010 Ford Ranger, it's not equipped with filters but I looked in the back behind the glove compartment and the Sirius radio box and found that the screen, don't know the name of it, was totally covered in grime. In order to access, it has to be on Max A/C setting and you will need a long tool to clean it because you can't remove the screen. I scrapped it off then blew it with an air compressor. The A/C works like the first day we bought the truck. If anybody tries this you need to make sure you are careful when removing the grime. The screen looks like a large dryer screen, so be careful because the metal isn't thick and you can tear the screen if not careful.
Thank you so much!! You would NOT believe what I pulled out of my filter!! Not only were they completely clogged, there was a mouse nest with a dead mouse!!!
I just have this problem on my w124. I just overhauled the AC systems, changed compressor, cooling coil and expansion valve. I thought that I need rework and cost a bomb again. This is the only video I found to explain my problem. Seems to be cheap fix. Relieved and Thanks!
Thank You Thank You Thank You!!! No Cabin air filter on my 07 Ranger FX4 but after reading deep in the comments I found a post about a screen only visible with glove box down and A/C on max. Looked like a cloth filter that my flashlight could not scrape clean. Used an old tooth brush and cleaned some of the screen and blew off with compressor. Now have air flow from vents. Have to find something in the morning to finish cleaning. Should look like a wire mesh screen when clean not a blanket...
Mine was a very dirty cabin filter. First attempt to fix the blower. Took it off but it worked. I accidentally learned of the cabin filter. Pull the tabs and was disgusted. It was a cabin filter. Live and learn. I was relieved to know it was a cheap fix Awesome feeling to fix it myself. Woohoo
I Just have to say Thank you!! So much I hate trying fic AC problems and I Have been having to take a little girl around in my car its my boyfriends and she use to get so hot in the back seat i just have to tell you Thankyou again that helped so much!!!
When you dont have a filter, restricted evaporators will do that too. They get packed with leaves. I had one pretty packed. I cleaned that and the core, I got much better air flow.
Hi. I enjoy watching your videos.. They are very professional, informative and very clear instructions. The sound is perfect. Thanks a lot for your time to help people saving money by do it yourself repairs. I have the problem with my climate control on my 2011 Porsche Cayenne. Few day ago it stop working while driving around the city. No air, no heat, no blower running. I check all the fuses they are ok. I can not find the relay for the AC any where. I hope you can help me solve this problem. Regards
I can only speculate about this, your heater core could be clogged, either clogged with debree or if you done a coolant renewal, could be an air pocket in it
Indeed I can feel some air come out but it's not moving. However, I also sometimes will feel the AC kick on in rare occasions. When this happens, it might stay on indefinitely if the car is parked and still. 30 seconds in to driving it though, it instantly shuts off and it'll be weeks before you feel that brief blast of amazing air again if you're going somewhere. I'm not sure if the trick shown here will work for me because I'm worried I have a flat-out short. But...I can also get a weak leak of heat as well on cold mornings so SOMETHING is working in it. I'm going to try your method. I do have a 2004 I just bought two months ago and while I saw that the original owner seemed to take decent care of the car, she might have traded it in come the AC issue (her original papers and everything are in the car, including past services made on it). My stereo was ripped out or adjusted at some point and maybe she did that in a desperate bid to fix the issue, lol. It doesn't sit in the space provided to it very well and is missing half the plastic around the edge to hold it in place so I have electrical tape on it. I plan to find a junk yard to help replace that at some point but I'm saving that as cosmetic work so long as it doesn't affect the other functions in the car. Anyways, if anyone still checks this video out or if the uploader reads comments, does this sound like an issue anyone has experienced?
I think I have the problem you are describing. Except, do you know if a 2000 Ford Expedition XLT with 5.4 liter trition engine rear wheel drive, uses an in cabin filter? Thanks for the video.
cmgarcia33 I have a 2004 and Porsche cayenne put new air filter in the vent want open to blow cool air I have to turn defroster on to keep cool please need help
Lol i read "Blower not moving any Air" and i though "The supercharger isn't blowing? Since when they use slang at RealFixesRealFast?" But then i got it!
Hi, I want thank you for this helpful Videos . I want see if you could help me with A video on how to replace the resistor on a 2004 Mazda mpv , the 1 2 3 speeds don't blow air on front but kicks in the compressor and the 4 speed blows air in front but the compressor don't work. ANY IDEAS
What’s the white hose for ? The 2017 has a different casing and the replacement came with a white hose instead. It’s working fine but The white hose is just hanging there now. Is it that big of a deal?
Nice video, real simple and similar to a toyota echo. Now I have a quick question, what do you think it could be if there's no blow of air, you feel the conditioned aspect of the air at high speed, and when the blower is set to on the engine reacts with a fan but no sound of ac fan? (Used to go on and off, on again at high speeds and only on high.)
So,I replaced the cabin filter on our 07' Pacifica to remedy the "cooler" air coming to the passenger side and rear vents. After reassembling all components, the air flow was considerably more intense, but the actual heat level did not seem to improve. The drivers vents never had an issue and have always provided the temperature indicated on the digital display. The passenger and rear vents have always been cooler or just plain cold, but they have always had a measurable air flow that is consistent with the drivers vents. Blendoor? Any other suggestions? Thanks for any suggestions.
Front dashboard air vents not blowing, nor making motor sound when temp. is on low, only works when positioned on high or maximum for both heater and a/c.on my 1997 Chevy Cavalier Z24.
I have been looking all over for a cabin filter change on a 2012 ford escape. They were lumped in with all the other ford escapes. None show how to change the filter on a 2012. What gives? You can see the filter underneath where most filters go, but it's much lower down smaller and shaped almost like a coffee filter. Why no videos showing how to get to this filter?
all symptoms, everything you say about the problem is exactly what's going on with my car(2004 Chevy Trail Blazer), except my suv does not have any cab filters, what else could the problem be?
03 Honda Pilot. I get air out all vents but the 2 front ones... What can the problem be?. It seem that most air comes out at bottom (feet get really cold).
I have a problem with my 2011 Pilot. There's no hot/cold air circulation in the two center vents I can hear the motor blowing. The drivers, passenger and rear vents are blowing hot and cold air. I replaced the cabin air filter and there's still no response. Any help or suggestion would be appreciate.
exactly what I needed. I haven't yet done what he said. I'm concerned that the drop in power came on so suddenly. I just changed my car's air filter yesterday, and today suddenly this. Wtf? Coinky dink or related?
So, My 2009 Traverse has No Cabin Air filter. What's the problem when an Cabin filter is non existent on the earlier Traverse. The AC works for approx. 30 miles then the air is blocked, The fan is blowing but no air flow.
Thank you for the video. My hyundai Santafe's ac (cool/heat) works fine. I have recently noticed that sometimes I can hear the fan responding to the fan speed knob normally but the air from vents is so weak and I hear like the air is being leaked somewhere inside above the glove box. My cabin filter is new and it makes no difference if I run the fan without a filter too. Can you please advice what could be the issue ?
of course it is impossible to say for sure without looking at it, but it sounds like the air diverter doors are not closing completely. They move back and forth a lot like the heat register vents in your house, except they are electronic. They may be actually broken or just out of adjustment. You may want to simply do a "relearn/reset" with a scanner. Not sure if your year/make/ will allow it but it's possible. You will need a scanner to do it as well.
My truck is a Mazda B3000, 1999. Does it have cabin filters? I tried to find them but there doesn't seem to be any? I can hear the fan blowing and it sounds fine but no pressure to the cooled air and it is barely blowing into the truck cabin. Ideas / suggestions?
My car dose not have a cabin air filter. I seem to have a similar problem it’s so random it’ll work and blow lots of air on all fan speeds I can hear the blower it’s on and has enough air pressure to blow my shirt sitting in the car. This happens on hot or cold dose not mater with in 10 minutes of turning on the blower I slowly loose air pressure. It stops blowing the air out and it sounds like in the dash the air is blowing back at the blower fan. Then it might randomly start working again. This happens on all zones defrost full face vent feet vent so on. When it works it’s nice great air pressure I just don’t understand the blower fans on I even took out the glove box and watched the blower fan turn on and suck air in.
Watch this video, it will explain the probable issue. It could be this valve or actually any break or leak in the vacuum lines. Good luck ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0ayGTFR9gHs.html
Thanks. My 2003 Kia Sorento blower won't switch between dash air and floor air with the mode switch. It was stuck on dash air ..now it's stuck on floor air. All fuses are good. Insights ?
There is a big difference between the blower and the blend doors. The blower makes the air move and the blend doors direct where that movement will go. From what you said I assume you have good air movement but it's not moving to the selected outlets. If so, it is most likely either the blend door actuator itself and/or the linkage between the actuator and the door it is trying to move. Most likely it will be a bad actuator.
Hello, quick question what would be the next step to finding why there is slow cold air coming out of the vent when the blower motor is at full speed? ( My Air filters are new and the problem still continues ) 2001 Acura TL
"Mountaineer 2004 - below dash / foot rest aircon not blowing air" a/c is working inside the vehicle except the below the dash aircon duct. Any idea what is the problem? or to fix it? Thanks Guys!
The fan in my 2000 grand prix blows but not a lot of air comes through the vents. There is no cabin filter in my car any ideas? Can hear fan can barely feel it also the cars temp is about 162. Plz help I'm lost
I have the problem with the air not coming out but I can not find a cabin air filter. I have a 1998 f150 ford pickup.could you please tell me what else could be the problem. Thanks for your help Tommy in Mobile Alabama
The fan isn't blowing out the front vents of my 1998 Chevy Astro van for heat or a.c.. Do you have a video to fix it? The fan motor isn't working on any speed a.c. or heat. The back fans work fine.
