Because many test their cars at a garage. One of my neighbors does rally racing and works on Japanese cars. He has a garage he stores his cars (he owns atleast 4 cars he races)/ engine tuning at. Other work he does at home because he doesn't want to cause problems with his neighbors.
Isaac HONDA makes car better than that POS Frankenstein fuel thirsty only drivable in a STRAIGHT track, horse power doesn’t mean necessarily performance, reliability fuel economy or comfort, that is a modified old “dragon” , it could be fast , so what ?
My neighbor has a 71 chevelle with a blown 632, long tube headers, around 1500 hp. Put over 30k in just engine parts, and every morning that he starts that thing up.....it puts a smile on my face. I bring em out a beer every time.
Lord, I'd love to air that bad boy out on a long straight stretch of road! Wouldn't mind having that for a daily driver. Can probably pass anything except a gas station. LOL Awesome car.
You'd never be able to daily that engine. You'll wash the cylinder walls out in a few months. That cam is made to be run wide open not sitting in traffic
Veteran Lowboy Driver you have no idea what you’re talking about dude. YoUr GoNnA WEaR oUT CyLiNDer WaLls no you aren’t unless that thing is bored .0080 over or more you’re gonna have no problem with cylinder walls wearing out and the only problem you would have with that is overheating. That cam is a radical cam but definitely not unstreetable for sure. My C10 has a radical cam and I daily it all the time.
@@willparker3170 I didn't say wear I said wash!! That happens when you're pouring too much fuel into the cylinders and the rings no longer make a good seal. I see auto correct struck again on my previous comment it's wash not was
@Dave Micolichek they do alright if you get them out on the road obviously doing 1500 miles isn't city driving. But that's not daily driving, that's not a commute sitting in traffic, stop light to stop light, now fuel injection helps immensely but a carbuerated engine with that much cam, you can't cut the fuel back enough at idle to not hurt the engine, you hear these guys sitting at stoplights at cruises all the time they have to keep revving it up at lights to clear it out.
@Dave Micolichek that's a relatively mild cam so you can get away with that. My 302 had a full 3/4 racing cam trying to street it with my carberator that I raced was almost impossible. I always run Holleys, I had a 750 for the track to keep it fed at 8000rpm which was perfect but was completely unstreetable. I had to put a 600 on it to run it on the street for any amount of time. There's only so much adjustment in a carberator your jets set the base and you can't go below that. But the 600 wasn't enough for wide open at the track and I eventually would have burned a piston. I admit at the time I wasn't great with Holleys but I was good enough to get it running respectively, however my Grandfather IS an expert with Holleys and race engines and he always did my adjustments
I listen to this on repeat when I'm sitting in traffic. it almost makes you feel like you're sitting in the real thing except my Toyota Corolla doesn't have that much power when you rev it :(
The 3 best sounds in the world in no particular order. 1.Steak sizzling on the fire. 2.Your woman saying you can put it anywhere you want. 3.Big blocks with rowdy cams.
I reckon that people with obnoxious sound systems would use that to their advantage to make their grocery-getter Toyota sound meaner than it actually is... Although, that can be done without a playlist anyway Im taking this comment too literally 😃
@Kathleen Shaw for being 80, you sure as hell talk alot figured by now your dentures would have fallen out. Or let me retort, type alot. Your fingers should be broken now
@M Diggingit You're right about the Falcon, but the supercharger was specially build for the movie, as a decoration. (scroll down til you see the picture of the engine/blower, the script above it says it all) www.hemmings.com/blog/2015/05/15/theres-only-one-original-mad-max-interceptor-and-its-not-in-australia/ I cannot remember who has it, but the original Interceptor was purchased a couple years ago, there was a video about it, & they spoke in depth about the fake supercharger. That video gave my soul diarrhea...
Joel Williams I believe the original falcon which was an xb falcon coupe that was used in mad max and the road warrior is now somewhere in Miami in a car museum, it should be brought back her to Australia where it belongs but atleast it’s alive
@M Diggingit I saw a cable show and there was a guy who actually owned one of the original "Mad Max" movie prop cars and yep, it was fake and had a switch to make it spin. His plan was to (in my opinion ruin the value and the car) pull apart the motor and put a real super charger in it. The guy's brother felt like I do and he said to his brother that he didn't care about the value or keeping the piece of memorabilia intact because he had no intention of ever selling it.
Ok, as a huge Dodge fan, I must humbly say this..... Chevy muscle cars can pull insane numbers on the dyno on regular pump gas! That being said, there's no telling how much horsepower a blown Chevy big block can pull?!? That's beauty and the beast rapped all into one!
Guys, Here is our Savior YaH The Heavenly FATHER HIMSELF was Who they Crucified/Pierced for our sins and “HERE IS THE PROOF” From the Ancient Egyptian Semitic: "Yad He Vav He" is what Moshe (Moses) wrote, when Moses asked YaH His Name (Exodus 3) Ancient Egyptian Semitic Direct Translation Yad - "Behold The Hand" He - "Behold the Breath" Vav - "Behold The NAIL"
As was mentioned above, there are those that disagree about the 69 vs the 70.....i'll just add that in my opinion, as far as straight up raw horsepower goes, both 1969 AND 1970 were the peak of the factory horsepower wars.....before OPEC and their BS, and the insurance industry and their gameplaying bs. Now as for what year was best for styling, well.......THAT argument will NEVER be settled.
Good thing he's in Florida, I met him when he still had the nitrous system on it. Real nice guy, we did a poker run together and he did a dyno run right before me, but was having some sort of issue. Him and his gf put that wrap on in the garage.
Lol people arguing a Honda is faster but you ain’t pulling no ass with a Honda let me tell you that right now lmao. 😂 Pull up in this Chevrolet and have them girls drippin lol 🤣😂
If he does, it's been changed a lot. Upchurch's looks like a completely different car. Only similarities are the model and a blower. His has a 383 small block, and this car is a 460 big block.
Fred C I agree. It's a sign that it's not tuned right. It doesn't bother me that it is surging, it bothers me that something that built isn't tuned correctly.
Blower surge is one of those hot-rod dynamics that presents a paradox to enthusiasts. In one ear it sounds like the engine is struggling if not defective. Then the other ear is treated to a throbbing cadence of performance pulses that help define a unique cool factor that not everyone understands. On one hand blower surge can be so smooth and melodic that it’ll put a crying baby to sleep. Or it can also drive a sane man into paranoia. “It’s typical that the guys who have it, don’t want it,” says Ron Hayes of The Blower Shop. “And the guys that want it, can’t get it.”
By definition, blower surge is a rhythmic acceleration and deceleration of engine speed at idle. It’s prone mostly to V8s that are force-fed with a large Roots-style supercharger. Granted, an uneven idle condition can be found in many different engines. Most of those are simply out of tune or suffering from a major malfunction, like an improperly installed camshaft.
So what really is blower surge? “It’s cycling between rich and lean conditions at idle,” explains Hayes. “You typically see it more with mechanically injected engines versus carburetors, but they both surge.” On a mechanically injected engine, which is the fuel delivery on the Mopar engine in the above video, when the engine richens up, the idle drops. As the idle speed goes down, the fuel pump, which is driven by the engine, doesn’t send as much fuel to the engine. That means the motor leans out slightly, increasing the RPM.
That my friends was the sound of a wamp wamp to y'all kids now in this new generation in a prius have successfully heard your worst nightmares come alive
I would Never I mean never sell or trade my chevelle even if my wife said it's either me or the car I guess I'd have another babe sitting shot gun my daughter gets it when and only when i take the dirt nap
