Blown head gaskets on a 6.0? Surprise, surprise! But seriously, this now gives you a chance (hopefully) to build the motor so that it will last even longer. When you get the head gasket job done, I would also recommend investing in a new oil cooler and new EGR cooler (or delete if you can).
Im about to do the Same thing!! with the PP heads!loaded 18mm ..05 excursion KC2 170/30 .....S&B ect..... I was studdded for miles but the factory Heads im shure are craked to shit...Was pushin like 42lbs boost at times .. .Putin new Arp in also....cant wait see how works...had 170000 on old ones ...
I been there done the heads on my 6.0 myself with the cab on took me 6 months but thats because once I took it apart I had to do every upgrade possible while I had it apart plus it was 30 degrees outside lol., Have fun well worth it when your done... PS don't talk about deletes on your rig in videos you can get a fine in the mail as many have found out...
@@JUSTINHAWKSMITH Get the high rpm low pressure pump and the blow proof SCT fitting for the back of the H-Pop,and of course the oil cooler, blue spring, injector harness turbo and tune. Also I welded my cooler but the stock up pipe had a 50% baffel on the pass side inside to divert exhaust gas into the cooler so you can maintain intake pressures when the egr used to open you need to cut that out of the inside the up pipe for good flow and helps with turbo lag when doing the delete if you havent it already. or you could of course just do aftermarket up pipes and go the cap method. I wanted it to pass a visual inspection so me egr solenoid and cooler are still in place. Anything I can help with let me know I been through a 6.0 a few times :)
Looks like a solid build I really want to do a setup like this eventually on my 06 fingers crossed its lasted on 205/30 injectors for a while now so are you going to do any upgraded exhaust manifolds or a ported intake manifold or any bottom end upgrades
No bottom end upgrades , we will be doing some 205/75’s with mild tune ! Ported intake manifold & exhaust manifolds are on the list yessir. Thanks for watching !
So the 6.0 push rods are longer than the 6.4 push rods , most people use the 6.4 as a “updated pushrod” because when having the head gasket job done on the 6.0’s most people reuse the heads and have them machined which ever so slightly lessens the overall thickness of the head. Which is why switching to a 6.4 push rod is a good idea as they are shorter. These heads are brand new correct spec thickness so the 6.0 length powerstroke products builds them to will be perfectly fine & these are a heavy duty push rod to prevent any pushrod deflection anyway which is the cause of failure. So the 6.4 powerstroke length pushrod is not needed in this application.
Good to hear that from a skilled mechanic as yourself ! Thanks for watching man. Was just wearing your merch during my last video ! But could barely see it cause I had a chest protector on. Love it !
They are MADE IN CHINA. I have been to their shop in person and seen the pallets of them. I saw that and walked away. I have UCF make me some O-ringed heads and torqued to 225ft/lbs my self with Motorcraft head gaskets. Over 50k with 175/30s, 20 over pistons, Colt stage 2 cam, Powermax turbo (going to KC jetfire Stage 2 soon), hottest Gearhead tunes, 35” tires and lots of other goodies I did with my full rebuild.
@@MacJank7 all of the new casting heads are cast in China. If you have a clean uncracked OE head to work with that’s great but they are getting harder to source.
@@MacJank7 as stated above they’re all from China. That’s nothing new here. 90% of things you use on a day to day basis are made in China. Not always a bad thing. I never said they weren’t.
Do you know about the quality or reviews on those studs? ARP has always made the best studs . However tons of ppl are out there now trying to compete with them. Just make sure u don't put junk studs on because you will be back doing this job again sooner then u want. I run ARP 625's. My heads are Kill devil diesel.. Very hard to beat.
This is something we will find out in the years and miles to come. KDD makes great products and in no way shape or form did I compare or say these are better, I’ve heard bad about ARP , as well as KDD , every company can have quality control issues. In this case we will find out just how well the powerstroke products , products are! So stay tuned. Moral is “main stream” isn’t always the ONLY thing that works ! They got there advertising via social media and making good products. Just as other companies can do as well. We will find out ! Thanks for watching.
I’ve had powerstroke products stage 1 lifters fail after 30k miles!! Cheap Chinese shit Cost me a oil pump/cam as well. On a stock truck with a tow tune I use to pull my trailer LOL
Lifters from all manufacturers have been experiencing failures due to improper heat treatments and break-ins. Blame the whole industry for using Chinese quality parts which get a rubber stamp of approval no matter if they are good or bad.
