Good morning! I found you recently and have to tell you I love your art❣️ I could watch your videos all day and sometimes do. ☺️ I swear your paintbrush is magical! Omg, you make the most beautiful lines and swooshes with that brush! I haven’t practiced yet with my brushes but when I do I’m hoping to find a tutorial from you to describe how to go about it. I also love your cute little emojis for they give a bit of humor to a serious piece of art. Not sure if I explained that so you understand but I say they’re adorable. I subscribed to your RU-vid channel and wonder if you have a Patreon site? At this time, I’ve been collecting paint, tools, organizers, pouring medium, molds, etc, etc. Quite an adventure! I’ve since developed this weird habit and wonder if it has happened to you or your followers? I’ve started looking at items inside and out of my house and thinking how they might look with dots. 🤣 I believe I’ve caught DOTTING FEVER! Not sure if there’s a cure and not wanting to cure it. Awww Helen!!! Keep the fever!! Lol, I’m so thrilled you found my channel. You definitely sound like me looking around and thinking dots! I dotted around my robe hooks in the bathroom and omg recently I dotted a bright tiny mandala on a shelf corner I kept hitting. I notice the mandala and haven’t hit my head since 😂😂😂😂. This is so calm, just to watch you create it, or look at once it is finished. I love the waves and white caps. I am like you. I make many tools to make building mandalas easier, and quicker. "Rock on"
Jadel, these colours make me happy, lol. I am curious did you take art, hoping to turn it into career? Or did you find dot painting mandalas online and decided to give it ago? I ask because you make it look so much easier and your colour palettes are always a great choice. The other reason I ask is the fact you make the gold scrolling, look as easy everything else. Regardless, your tutorials are really appreciated.
Thank you Lyn… nope no school. Honestly… I started painting kindness rocks. But I’m not great at realism so I began making collages of dots with my paintbrush. They were so pretty. One day I looked online to see if there was a brush for making dots…. My life was none the same. Did you know my first video is literally the 3rd mandala I’ve ever painted? I’ve been winging it. I’m getting more and more confident. I’ll never master it but it tickles me that you asked me this. I feel pretty proud. ♥️♥️♥️
I typically just need colors.. the rest just comes. But! This one was a 2nd attempt. I did the purple one first so I had a pretty good idea. I think that’s what I like about canvas painting… nothing planned just go. I’m so glad you like it… Thank you ♥️
Thank you ♥️ if I thin the paint I show it. I didn’t mix anything with any of these paints except for the Tuscan teal. I used Liquitex flow aid, and I left a link in the description.
Lol…. I kinda love the type o. Best advice I can give without seeing what you’re doing is paint consistency… it’s got to flow. It’s personal preference but try thinning it a bit. Most of the DecoArt Americana has been perfect right out of the bottle but their line of dazzling metallics is my all time favorite consistency. I know you hate to hear it if you’re like me… but practice! Practice practice practice. I’ve been doing this for a long time and I’m just now starting to understand my paint a bit better. It’s like you get to a point where you can just dip into a color and know that it’s gonna be the best or worst swoosh ever. You begin to know exactly how to drag and push your tool just to its limits, and you might figure out things like the slower you go the longer the swoosh… etc. it’s a world of variables and it’s so exciting to conquer the problems but it takes time. I know you can do this…. Let me know if I can get more specific.
