See U.S. Navy lieutenant Amanda Lee. Callsign "Stalin". Lt. Amanda Lee is the first Jet Blue Angel female Aviator. Naval Air Station (NAS) Point Mugu had a historic airshow with both the USAF Thunderbirds and the USN Blue Angels demonstrating in front of a large crowd. This was only the 3rd time in history both teams were performing at the same show. People who arrived late were not allowed on the base. In this video, you will see part of the show that included Lt. Amada Lee flying her number 3 F/A-18 Super Hornet Jet. Another video in the future will have the entire show. Saturday March 18th 2023.

Blue Angels, THE VERY BEST OF THEM ALL!!!. I've always been in amazement at the public engagement of the teams right after the show. They not only manage to inspire people by their precision aerobatics in the air. Making themselves available for the public on the ground, letting others get exposed to that god- like aura from the distance, managing to inspire up- close and personal both kids and adults to work towards their dreams however far- etched they might be that' s the real super power of these guys.

She enjoyed it and was disappointed she didn't get meet all the Blue Angles Pilots. She got a couple autographs. They done a great job as expected, even with the #2 jet getting swapped out to #7 that was very quick and a couple of us was like this is new.. "lol" Great Job CHRIS KAPUSCHANSKY and SCOTT GOOSSENS. And all crew members to get them back into the air so fast. "WOW"

Better in terms of their flying, or better in terms of DEI? Did she earn the spot over other qualified applicants, or did she have an edge because she's a woman? This is only "better" if she's the best pilot. If not, hopefully there are no accidents. Google Kara Hultgren. Somebody decided it was "better" to have women in F-14s... but she wasn't a good enough aviator and paid a heavy price. I'm all for giving women an equal opportunity at these kinds of assignments, but not for giving them unfair advantages.

Congrats to Lt. Lee. I think having a female aviator Blue Angel is a grand idea. I have absolutely no sense of direction (well, I can tell up from down...most of the time), but when it comes to traveling out of town, I invariably find myself asking my wife, "What do you think, Sweetie right or left?". Her confident demeanor and reply are, to me, confidence inspiring; she is usually incorrect, but it DOES make me feel better.

You might want to correct the title to this video. Amanda Lee is the first BLUE ANGELS fighter pilot. You also said first female jet pilot and I think you meant fighter pilot. The first female fighter pilot was Jeannie Leavitt in 1993. She was later the first to command a combat fighter wing, I believe she is a Major General now.

My best guess is it had to do with a mistake she made at some point in a past training or fleet squadron where she stalled an aircraft where she shouldn't have. Stalling (Stalin). Just a guess, though.

@@Jesse-le9bh None were selected. They abandoned the custom of having one marine in the demo at all times a few years ago. Sometimes they have one, sometimes 2, this year none. It makes more sense to bring aboard the most suitable pilot for the team, rather than forcing a quota of so many Marines, so many Navy... I suspect that is also why they went away from the tradition of #2 always being a Marine, and the sole Marine. Holding that tradition made even less sense.

Navy LT's share same rank insignia with Marine as well as Army and Air Force Captains. All are 0-3's.

She is an O-3, which in the Navy and Coast Guard is a Lt. In the USAF, US Army and Marine Corp, that is a captain. A Captain in the US Navy is O-6, which is a Colonel in the Air Force, Army and Marines. So their ranks are very much "together".
