Hello guys, this is Hans Sensei, and today I'm going to teach you on how to make Fake Blue Archive Dialogues. It's kind of an unsusual video since I usually upload memes and not teaching on how to make memes. Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know that this video might be the last one before I'm going to take a long break from uploading stuffs. I might still post stuffs on the community post, but I don't think I can upload videos frequently anymore since I need to focus on rl stuffs. I hope that with this video, I can help you make more memes and skits so that the Blue Archive community didn't ran out of funny contents. As always, THANK YOU for supporting this channel!

Blue Archive uses the Noto Sans font for text so use it for a more authentic look

i have been comparing Noto Sans, Noto Sans Mono for text in Blue Archive in Google Font website, but they dont look similar man. I screenshot my phone when playing BA and then go to online font identifier to find the font, it's a different font name, not Noto Sans. How can you know that it is Noto Sans ?

@@aiduongvo7510 i'm sure it is regular Noto Sans, but that's only from eyeballing the glyphs. i'm making a custom theme for ClosureTalk (the MomoTalk web tool) and in trying to get the perfect font, i found that Noto matched up near perfectly to the font BA uses. the shape of the letter "I" matches, alongside the lowercase "u" and "a". even if it's not the same font, its SUPER close! although I think BA uses a thin white outline on the text. by itself, Noto Sans Regular looks very thin compared to the one in-game, and the heavier version has too much thickness.

I'm currently working on a reimplementation of the BA story engine, which will try to recreate the in-game behavior as closely as possible. It's going to be web-based and will have an easy-to-use editor and a webpage on which people will be able to share stories publicly. It will hopefully make things like this much easier, but there's still a long way till I can consider it ready to use. ... I also need to prepare myself for all the "interesting" stories people will be making with it. I know those are inevitable but I do plan on moderating them.

For those who want to make the text as accurate as possible, use the "Noto Sans" font. That's what Global server uses. As for JP, the font is "U-OTF-ShinMGoUpr"

As someone mentioned already, Blue Archive used Noto Sans for its dialogues and Exo 2 for some wording. Anyway, I also dabbled in this back then with manual editing together with a fellow mate, HEXIGONE (Bless her) and the workflow is something like yours. Still, I can see some parts from your workflow being useful to mine too. However, there is already a BA VN engine out there. I personally used Aris Studio right now. It is easy to work with and I personally used it to make "East Wind Operation" relatively quickly, faster than the time I worked on "Aris is Duelling Malkuth". I strongly recommend Aris Studio to whoever just want to make fan-made VN since it does include animated screen effects and also support L2D spines (student sprites are actually animated in the game). However, if you want to be flexible with the editing and adding more effects like sounds, manual editing is the only way.

ArisStudio is fantastic! its a bit difficult to set up, but once you get the hang of it, it's a super good storytelling tool. a shame that it'll no longer be recieving official updates since the creator has actual life stuff going on (which, honestly, great for them!) but i love ArisStudio lol

@@pinkypacaDidn't know it stopped receiving updates already. Looking at it now, it seems to be a recent thing. No wonder I missed it. Last I put it on watch, they are updating the third version. Still, ArisStudio 2 at this point is useable enough for most usage. Kudo to them really.

What's the pixel size and color code that is used? I just downloaded it and the text came as a regular layer and not a text layer, and I'm not sure what pixel size and color code to use. Same with Name and Affiliation

@@HansTNO I did, but I don’t have photoshop. When I tried to open it in photopea or gimp, the name, affiliation and dialogue layers were regular ones and not text layers. Unless I downloaded it the wrong way without realising it
