Robert, when is your next Alaska trip? I live for your trips around the country. I remember when you came to the shop I worked at in Bellingham, Hardwoods To Get, with Brad. I moved up here to Anchorage, following my heart. I think Oby would love to have you come to his new location, still in Bellingham. The adventures you go on with your family and separately are just amazing. Some people get tired of how you show us constantly how to fillet....well, not everyone is a long-time subscriber, so you doing that educates the new viewer. And you never talk down to us, it is always sincere and honest. Too many people that think they are important talk down to their viewers. You, Sir, are just a regular Joe. That's what we viewers keep coming back for. God helped you bounce back from your stroke. ZERO question, He wants you around for a while, to keep doing His work the way you are. Cheers!

Good morning!!! I just woke up, we filmed all day yesterday, the bite wasn’t that good and the sharks were thick, but I got a nice blackfin tuna. I promise you, I’m going to read this comment while I’m cutting the tuna today!!! It totally made me smile and it taught me something!!! Thank you so much!!!! I’m gonna be going out to see Brad soon. @@deermeatfordinner It is still Hardwoods To Get, Sir. It is not in the old location; that landlord demolished the building. the address is 316 E. McLeod. It's a very deceptive spot, it looks like a main building but it is in what looks like a 2-bay garage. I had an emergency cardiac ablation 2.5 months ago and like you, I'm bouncing back. I don't feel so out of breath due to the AFIB I was going through all the time. I don't know if Oby remembers you but you will find no better friend. He has been my mentor and pretty much second Dad since 1983 for me. Get him to tell you how we met, you'll love it.

It's always so amazing hearing the prayers 🙏 and seeing your girls saying the prayers 🙏 as well Rob.. The Bible says to teach our children in the way they should go and they will never forget.. And it's one of the reasons I really got into watching your channel.. I'll tell you what, Louisiana might be the most fruitful abundant place in America. It just seems like they have everything!!! And lots of it. How's the deer hunting?? Northern LA I imagine is the best. Obviously duck hunting is amazing. Venice speaks for itself 💪💪❤️❤️, tons of crab, crayfish, redfish, tunas, turkeys. I mean Louisiana is incredible!!! I guess that's why it's called The sportsman's Paradise.

Robert, thanks for showcasing my hometown ! That launch at the "Violet Canal" you guys left out of was .5 mile from my home before hurricane Katrina, and we stayed on the shrimp boat, moored in there after the storm...that entire area was under 20 foot of water. It was a test of resilience and perseverance. Thanks again for showcasing our home !

We used to have crawdad parties in Sacramento. I’d make a boil of about 3 gallons of water, a couple boxes of Zatarain’s Crab Boil, a gallon of Iris liquid hot sauce, and a pound of Cajun spice. Throw in the corn in the husk, potatoes, and onions for a good while; dip those out and start cooking crawdads. We’d run about 80 lb of crawdads through there. Great times!

I love seeing the differences in how people of various regions handle the same crab species. I grew up in MD, and blue crabs were a staple. Up there, we didnt purge them, just go straight from water to bushel basket and into the steamer as soon as we got home. Also we never boiled them, always steamed with lots and lots of J.O. #2 seasoning layered in the steamer with the crabs. Old Bay isn't used for steaming in MD like most think..its something to possibly dip the meat into after picking, and a seasoning for almost anything you can think of (fries, potato chips, casseroles, pretty much anything).

That was an Alligator Snapping turtle. They have a long neck, an alligator-looking tail, and a mean temper. That long neck can reach around a long way and they bite hard. We used to catch them when I was a kid.
