This video alone inspired me to ditch saxophone and become a quad player, it's got a real powerful effect behind it. The name Miles Kenobbie will always inspire me to be in his shoes one day.
why are we pretty much the exact same, I played alto for a year, and this made me go to quads, or percussion, as My school only has concert band, marching will not start until next year ;-;
attoghaveympops you are absolutely right, I’m a trombone in marching band and I love it, as much as I love stuff like jazz, rock, and metal, I think the marching adds a whole new aspect than simply playing the music.
As a wind member I normally only focus on the winds but wow watching these types of videos makes me really appreciate all the sections that make up the machine You really presented that crabby patty
I’d like a recording of some of the things I say while playing my marching band show. My favorite would have to be “not-difficult, not-difficult” to count triplets. I’ve said some other stuff for sure. (I’m in front ensemble)
That looks like lots of fun. At 70 I don't have the stamina those young excellent musicians have. Enjoy every second of it people. Marching bands are way so cool.
I dont know how long you guys have been playing when I watch this with two years of experience with the quads, I will never be able to get to this level of skill. You guys killed it!
this is really wild, seeing how much detail is in the coordination from this perspective and how much they have to nail their timing from point a to b is amazing. Thanks for sharing, this is great
hey miles! i just wanted to say thank you for not only inspiring other kids for joining marching band and drum corp, but also inspiring me to continue my drumming career as of today. (still a child tho 😅) but i still thank you for this video!
Very well done! You performed wonderfully and even better, were in-step the entire time and in sync with nearly every movement from what I could see. It's great to see that, coming from someone who was in NJROTC for the entirety of High School and competed on the Armed Exhibition Drill team. Anyway, like I said before very well done and I'm sure you all killed it at comps!
Drum lines are so inspiring for me. The whole culture of it is something we really miss in here. I'm getting my sticks and go for practice now :) Pozdro666
This reminds of doing Championship marching band 8th grade thru College. Then for a few months in the military as well we had a marching band where I did cymbols. I played Clarinet (and Bass Clarinet) and was offered to play Bass Drum in college (but declined). Hats off to you all for all your hard work, because I've been there.
i’ve been looking back on this video almost every month and i always say to myself, “i’m gonna be on that field one day.” my all time dream is to march for the blue devils, whether it’s to get first place or not, i still wanna march. and it’s all came from this man here, mr miles himself.
Sorry, man, but I gotta go with what my band director says. I asked why we didn’t have any trombones and he said “well, we would have them, but we’re a GOOD band so...”
For every game my school band walks the whole track before going on the field and you can FEEL the music. Like your whole body is vibrating with how loud it is and it’s amazing
Now I do football, wrestling, and track and what I see in my normal highschool marching band I would not consider a sport... BUT THIS! THIS PUTS A SMILE ON MY FACE DUDE!
Amazing season man, loved every bit of this amazing show, it was great meeting you in person and i can't wait till next time, youve helped me so much on technique and self improvement! Awesome age out year man, congrats!
That "presenting the Krabby Patty" basically killed me inside :'D Thank you so much for being able to kinda feel the experience of being in a "marching band"/snare-quad band if so called :)
kollizions ttv Uhh, yeah it is. This wouldn’t have been a marching band if it had happened 20 years earlier. Literally. It’s called drum and bugle corps because there used to be bugles.
Wow just wow, crazy mad insane huge props to all you ladies and gentlemen. I was in band in school, never marching band but I sucked. I know how long you need to practice to get as good as you all and then have to learn a whole routine on top of that, amazing. It's a shame that some people have no clue how hard you work and think it's easy to do what you do, but I guess that's why they never appreciate it. Thank you for posting this I really enjoyed it.
I'm in my first year of a marching band and it was way harder than it looks (i play bass drum and going into 7th grade) it took me nearly two months to memorize just my music and an currently memorizing the choreography it whatever it's called and it's so hard, huge respect for this guy, can't imagine doing what he is edit: i did my first show last saturday and it was amazing, becuase of weather we were the only people to preform so we got first by default. it is super fun to do marching band, now i want to buy a gopro and film some practices. if you ever want to do marching band, do it
Porkins Peterson bro when my marching band is out there we always make meme refrance and pinhead and for the snares (me) we have a pineapple as our spirit animal one time as the act i was playing with the pineapple on my snare it was fun i love marching band
