Tricia and I recently had the chance to relax on one of Malta's few sandy beaches. While a non-profit foundation that cleans and manages the Għajn Tuffieħa beach also rents out lounge chairs and umbrellas, we still managed to get crispy in the 34ºC (93ºF) sunshine.
The Għajn Tuffieħa beach has received the coveted 'Blue Flag' certification from the Foundation for Environmental Education. Awarded to beaches with outstanding water quality and safety, the Blue Flag is the result of hard work from the Gaia Foundation that manages and cleans the area.
