This is the guy to trade for 100% - slim options for top 6 wings and he’s the perfect fit: he will want to be Buffalo Sabre

Farabee would be amazing! Dude has 70 point upside playing with Thompson or Cozens. He thrives playing with good players. Those two guys would be the best center he's played with in the NHL. Syracuse guy who's child hood team was the Sabres. He could come in here like Tuch and completely out, play his contract! He would def want to play here and get away from Trots. Lindy is gonna let the top lines score goals and hold the bottom 6 to shutdown lines.
Murray is a guy that hasn't elevated his play to where he should be, so he's expendable, even though I had hoped that he could make the transition. He's not fast, but he has a good two way game and goes to the front of the net. There are still so many assets in the pipeline that could be pieces in a trade. Gotta sign UPL!
This would make every single move KA has made including skinner buyout and overpays worth it. He would have completed every single offseason need and built the most complete lineup on paper in 17 years. Philly is sell high on Farabee right now coming off a career year of 50 points. If he stays in Philly torts will put him on line 3 and he's number might go down as well as his value. I don't mind overpaying for him.

Probably is. But currently, Krebs is the extra skater, Briere would want assets based on term left & established production. Sabres will want to keep Ostlund & Kulich in the system for now.
No thanks to Joel Farabee as i think he would be a 3rd liner on Buffalo at best. Besides if Adams made the deal who would you take out of the top 9? Peterka Thompson Tuch Benson. Cozens Quinn Zucker Macleod Greenway IMO Im happy to start the season with those 9 and a 4th line of Malenstyn Lafferty and Aube Kubel with Krebs and Rousek or Brett Murray as spare forwards . If Benson starts out slow, put him on the 3rd line and put Zucker on the 2nd line. Love the new 4th line! Cant wait to see it in action! He's another proven 40 point player with extremely heigh potential to outplay his contract much like Tuch did when he was traded and be a 70 point player. Remember Tuch was on the third line in Vegas before coming to Buffalo. Farabee and Torts just don't get along. He would be an excellent player to slot in to the top 6 which doesn't rush Benson. Makes him have to earn that top 6spot. A 3rd line of Benson McLeod and Zucker would be excellent. That would then give you a 4th line mix of Malenstyn Lafferty Greenway and Aube-Kubel. Makes the entire roster more deep and creates competition and spreads out the scoring.
You put him on the top line. Keep the Peterka on the kid line. Keep Benson on the third line across from Zucker. This makes both greenway and Krebs expendable. At least one of them goes back to Philly in the trade.

Danny Briere is a smart gm and I am sure his asking price would be super high . I am not sure if it’s worth giving up any prospects when Kulich may come up and fill that hole even though he’s a center . Still interested in a powerplay specialist , and Farabee / zegras would be great for it
How come we can’t send a good draft pick with Murray and one of our MANY 2nd round prospects??? I feel like maybe people are being too quick to offer our 1st round prospects. Even though we have a crap ton……doesn’t mean we throw them away. We also have a large amount of 2nd round prospects. Sell those guys off
If you want to keep Quinn & Peterka on bridge deals, Byrum & Tuch long term acquiring Farabee will cost you 1 of the above with the cap. Not so sure about this trade.
Yep agreed. Savoie was traded off……do not trade Kulich or Ostlund or Benson or our new guy. We also have a bunch of 2nd rounders too - trade all of them
I think Murray is a great secondary piece here, and I think Helenius is probably why Savoie was moved. I'd like to keep Kulich and Helenius and I think Ostland or Rosen could be moved fine. right now I dont' see them being able to make the big club unless serious injuries start to occur (knock on wood). Benson had a decent year, Kostas and Juri I think are the next two up on the list with Noah and Isak being just behind them.. Good talent and will probably be very good NHL'ers at some point but stuck in the number game... We also can't forget about Rousek either.. another one whose played well in the AHL too... We'll have to see.. one of the PHilly stations was talking Samualsson... With that.. that's a big fat NO...
@@aaronvogt335 Samualsson is clearly a very good defensive D-Man.. and when he's playing with Dahlin, it's clear his presences allows Rasmus to jump into the play more and it causes his scoring to go up, because he knows that Samualsson will have his back... that's special.. I would consider him to be untouchable.

I have heard Krebs name thrown around when it comes to the Flyers. They seem to like him. Could be why the Sabres haven’t been in a hurry to extend him. So package him with a goalie prospect since Philly is hurting in goal right now. Otherwise, one name out there who’s available is RW Daniel Sprong. He’s a fast and explosive skater that had mid-40’s in points in 66 and 76 games respectively over the last 2 seasons. And he’s coming off a 1yr/$2,000,000 contract with Detroit.
To be honest I just hope that Adams wont bring any Top 6 forward. I would love more if they left that last spot for one of our prospects. I think that if there will be one open spot in top six, players like Benson, Kulich Östlund, Rosen and Helenius will have much bigger motivation to fight for this one spot than if there are 6 forwards with multiple year contracts. I just think that if we get another young top six forward, then its a signal for all young guys that they will fight for third line at best. Plus i got one crazy idea. What if that last top six player will be Krebs? Krebs is creative passer so what if he is in line with two goalscorers (Cozens, Quinn). And before anybody say that this is stupid idea, how many of you thought that Thompson and Mittelstadt would be that productive after their first few years in NHL? Granato gave them chance (in contrast to Krebs) and they became much better players thanks to him. What if Ruff will do same thing with Krebs?
@@jasonbornne7767 I agree. Olofsson seems to get a lot of heat but he is actually a master in his role. To bad that he couldnt be used in the right way. I have watched Rosen many times just before the draft and during that year before he went over to the US. I am actually surprised that they took Rosen over Wallstedt. Especially at the time the goalie position was kind of shaky (still is, in my opinion). Unless Rosen thrives under Ruff, he will just be a less version of Olofsson, although cheaper.

I really hope that Lindy Ruff can turn this around. I don't expect playoffs this year because we are missing key pieces. Top 6 are not on par with other teams in our division. I think Adams as a GM is overrated but coach Ruff might save him.

Daniel Sprong is a well known massive defensive liability worse than Skinner (go look up his usage, there’s a whole video about it on RU-vid) no thanks. Farabee fell out of favor with Torts, but he can play anywhere, he spent time on the PK. He’s a much better player period. If we could get him for Krebs+picks or prospects it’s a no brainer
Everyone is negative but all Buffalo needs is to get 1 top 6 forward…they could trade 2 first rd picks and many prospects for a guy…they tried to get Martin Necas from Carolina but he cried like a baby and said he didn’t want to sign after trade to Buffalo. The GM is working the phones as we speak. But remember we have some great young guys already on Amerks who can play soon.

I heard about Farabee also...with Samuelson being the trade piece, and an unconditional 2025 first round pick, which is very enticing. I just know that we need a big 1st line (or 2nd line) winger.
With the addition of McCleod and Lafferty I don't think he has a place on the roster. Outside of an healthy scratch/center depth. I would almost put money on him being moved.
Savioe got hurt 3 times in a year not even playing games, hurt in camp twice and once in practice, we have guys way ahead of him, Benson, Helenus, Rosen, Kulich. I saw him play live on Amerks, Savioe looked like he was 5’6”.
Trading for Farabee would be a mistake, IMO. I do not think he would perform better than Kulich or Benson in that position. I’d much rather have Tippett or Konecny.
What if Buffalo traded sammuelsson and Murray for Farabee and then picked up Trouba. Rumors are we’re interested in Trouba right now as well. Thoughts?
