sometimes we have two options, learn to deal with it or leave, things transform and shape themselves with time, you just have to choose to stay even if things are different you have to be patient.
i love how everyone has a different interprutation of this song, shows that music is for everyone and it brings a message to everyone in their own ways, maybe on what they need to hear
Fun Fact; This song symbolizes maturing. Her cutting the blue hair off is showing how she matured. Because she had dyed it blue in her teen years. The ba-da bum's in the background symbolizing a heart beat, the beat stopped when she had cut it off, because their heart stopped from shock. (Edit : Woah?! 5.2k likes, didnt think it would gain so much attraction)
I thought it was about her being insecure, asking them multiple questions about herself. The blue hair cutting was her trying to fit in with the rest. They tried to stop her and tell her to be herself but she did anyway. Her personality changed, making them miss her, the old her, her with her blue hair. I just made that up so it might not make sense lol Holy crap this got a lot of likes.
I love the way you see it! A version that I saw is that her blue hair is her veins, and that makes a little more sense, added to the fact that the "ba-da boom's" are heartbeats.
I think this song is about someone desperately wanting to be perceived differently “there’s really no way of winning” “if in their eyes you’ll always be a dumb blond” and cutting the blue hair could mean being tired of her old identity or wanting to change it once again because she hasn’t found a sense of self yet.
I imagine this song being about a dad who grew apart from his daughter. The blue hair symbolizes their relationship. And the part where it was like: " But she's getting older...Guess she's gotta cut her blue hair off." Meaning I guess she doesn't need me anymore. Throughout the songs she's slowly getting older and farther apart from her father. (This made me cry lol)
LYRICS!!!!! she asked me how to be funny But that's not something you can teach What seemed so blue in the sunlight By the night was a pale green And I tried to hold her But it didn't really last long And she's getting older I guess she's gotta cut her blue hair off She asked me if she was pretty Well, it's clear that the girl's a fraud There's really no way of winning If in their eyes you'll always be a dumb blonde And she cried over nothing So there was nothing I could do to stop Her from cutting Her beautiful blue hair off It looked like cotton candy And just as quick to get licked away Last I heard she was living With a boy who acts his age And I guess I'll just miss her Even though she isn't even really gone But things are just different Ever since she cut her blue hair off
i thought this was about a girl trying to fit in with a group of friends- asking them how to be funny, because she’s unsure of her own personality or humor. asking people if they think she’s pretty because she’s insecure about her looks, dying her blonde hair blue because it looks cool and she hopes they’ll like it. the girl and the singer develop a romantic relationship (he starts seeing her at night, and notices that her blue hair looks pale green in the dark) but regardless of what she does, in people’s eyes she’s still the dumb blonde. she can’t fit in. over time she grows out of it and cuts her blue hair off- basically trying to appear “conventional” to society again, living with a guy who “acts his age”, who presumably has a regular job and a normal life. she goes from trying to fit into a subculture to trying to fit into society itself. the singer misses her and her “old self”, things are different since she cut her blue hair off. he couldn’t stop her from maturing and growing up, leaving him behind to try and conform to society and be accepted.
the sound, for me, portrays a person who watched someone grow and mature from afar, a friend who failed you so much, but with other people he was a true friend. he/she seemed to change, but it emptied you and picked up its parts to fill itself.
Bro, I thought this song was about how a guy has a crush on the blue haired girl, but like the blue haired girl already has a boyfriend. When the blue haired girl broke up with her boyfriend, she was so sad that she changed and cut her hair. And the guy that had a crush on her, was just like watching her from afar, and seeing how much she changed.
I personally interpret the song as a friend/maybe ex partner who new the girl since childhood and now is wacthing her change to a more closed version of herself. I think that this is meant to represent the girls changes her her loss of "uniqueness". He says "She asked me if she was pretty, well its clear that the girls a fraud" it sounds like hes having to see the girl go from confident to a more insecure version of herself, and he sees her confidence now as a front so people won't judge her. I feel like the next line of "in their eyes, you'll always be a dumb blonde" renforces that. Like maybe the girl was getting picked on for her intrest or looks. Hes seeing this and realizing that no matter what she does, they won't accept her and she wont change anything and it sound that shes hurting herself emotionally in the process, reinforced by "she cried, over nothing" like hes seeing how all of the things that are happening to the girl are because of others opinions, and its not a big deal in his eyes, but it also shows how he notices that while its nothing, it means something to her so she gets upset and cries. And the infamous line of "there was nothing i could do to stop her from cutting....her beautiful blue hair off" see likethat was the end of her uniqueness, and her friendship/relationship with him. Like the girl cut off not only what made her different and unique, but also repressed a part of herself, she did it for what seem society expectation? Bullying? Im not sure. Then we skip we skip to the lines "last i heard shes living, with a boy who acts his age" to represent how whatever their relationship was before, it most likely ended and she cut him off, then he proceeded to say "but i guees ill just miss her, even though she isint really gone. But things are just different, ever since she cut her blue hair off" which renforces the fact that whatever they were before, they arent as close anymore. He misses her, but doesnt want her "new form". He mises the way she was before, when she had her blue hair. This also gies with the idea that they stopped being as close when she cut her hair off. To summarize, to me this sound like a story of two friends that were close. They grew up together but as the guy watched his firend get older, he saw her flaws and how she was getting affected by time and the people in her surroundings. She gets more distant and tries to put a fake front. And when the boy calls her out, she "cut her blue hair off". A.K.A she turned a blind eye and decided to fully change her personality or ignore her own happiness and personality for others, cutting what was left of the old her and in the process, their friendship. This sounds honestly like a typical teen experience. We start in middle school, getting a bit more self aware and insecure, trying to impress others but we will always be seen as "dumb blondes". We dont realize how we are waisting our youth, friendships, and mental state for others whole abandining the people who actually care for us. And then we drift away from our middle school firendships, nwe start with new people, who act their age, but no matter what were never going to be the same, by the end of highschool we just have to exept it.

I relate to the lyric ''And she cried, over nothing. So there was nothing i could do to stop her fro cutting, her beautiful blue hair off'' (Btw the blue hair means like veins lol)
The girl in the cover looks like my friend, except she has a septum piercing, and she has black hair lol. (Her hair used to be blue, but she dyes it a lot. This song reminds me of her 🙂)
I never comment on videos but this really resonated with me. I feel like the young man in this song and it hurts my heart to see it happen. you’re interpretation is perfect. I hope this translates well :)
i feel this song is like losing a friend or getting replaced by someone in your group. "I guess i'll just miss her, even tho she isnt really gone." thats what im thinking dunno
i like to think that this song is about a couple. one of them is not doing so well mentally, and it eventually gets so bad they turn into a whole other person. their partner is obviously heartbroken, because the emotional yet happy person they once loved is no longer there, if not a sad and grey one. for me, the hair cutting symbolizes self harm or even that the person tried to take their life away, which failing obviously changed them as a person, that’s why it says “even tho she isn’t really even gone, but things are just different, ever since she cut her blue hair off” i also think about the cotton candy hair a lot, and how it says “and just as quick to get licked away.” i like to think of it as how fast they changed. idk, that’s js my thought (it’s 3am)
Cada pessoa interpreta a música da maneira que mais tem haver com os sentimentos pessoais da pessoa. Talvez por isso, eu e muitos interpretam no sentido do amadurecimento ou no de que a garota foi se afastando
This song reminds me of a friend I had a few months back. Sadly her bf was the over jealous type and despite us three being friends he made her stop talking to me and blocked me on everything. I’m just glad she’s happy
Relate to the “Theres really no way of winning if in their eyes you’ll always be a dumb blonde” bc since I’m blonde many people think that I’m just not smart 🫤
The way I saw this song was through a character. The character is trans (ftm) and the song was based off of a breakdown he had when going through gender dysmorphia and him cutting his hair was just the beginning of transitioning “ And i guess I’ll just miss her but she isn’t even really gone” would be him remembering himself as a completely different person before he transitioned but that part of him still feels like it’s there
@@frenchfries392 Its the fact that people interpret music differently. People have their own way of interpret music. Just let people express themselves :D
To me her blue hair is her individuality. And the questions she asks to the singer represent her insecurity over how she is perceived. The way people see her "as always a dumb blonde" is probably others judging her for her past self. The boy who acts his age being a teenage boy who acts rude and immature which probably makes her feel worse avoit herself. At the end of the day, what really bothers her is her own insecuritites not anyone else "she criee over nothing" meaning not any concrete reason, but a mentality issue. She eventually becomes so self-conceous of other's opinions of her she just gets rid of her own individuality. The hair changing colors through day and night are how diff povs see her personality. The singer likes the girl, idk if he is a friend, parent or lover, but they are def close. Yet he cannot help her with her insecurities and eventually let's her cut her hair.
just cut off 12 inches of red, previously bleached (and black before that..) hair. in my early 20s, and this song feels similar to cutting my hair; freeing. growing up. finally letting go. but, bittersweet, too.
this song reminds me of my reson why I cut my hair, because i started despise it after so many had told me that my hair was just a mess. but in the end i got over it and also realised that my hair is actually really pretty
I think in this song, blue hair means her veins and the bambambam means her heartbeat. And at last the bambambam slowly faded away, which means she killed herself.
i think this is about someone changing or transitioning, like somewhat hair getting cut off to a shorter one, it's the same but it's entirely different.
It makes me feel strange. I feel like a side quest in someone else's storyline. I guess I still love them. We'll never reunite. I need to accept it already.
this song is really sad because its actually about a girl who "cutted her blue hair off" what they mean by that is that she would cut her blue veins or simply, SH...
I thought this was about an immature relationship. The person singing finds her hair beautiful, but then calls her a fraud. "Last I heard she was living with a boy who acts his age" could refer to her previous relationship being really immature. And since it says she isn't really gone it could either mean they're still somewhat close or they're still dating but matured
i think this song prtrays a yound girl who was always bullied for how she/he looks "so she cried over nothing" , "so there was nothing I could do to stop her form cutting her butiful bolue hair off" cutting he/she's old body and personality. there's really no way of winning when in your eyes your always be a dumb blonde" but instead of a dumb blonde your just a bad person and that's how everyone sees you because nobody rlly ignores the rumors? right. so maybe this person just finds peace in being someone there not for people, so there rlly isn't any winning in this situation right? idk or maybe they cut their blue hair or her veins/arms, and nobody can stop them anymore.....
when first heard it, i thought the song was about a friend/lover who couldnt prevent their partner from doing suicide... 'And she cried over nothing' - depression 'So there was nothing I could do to stop' - person couldnt help 'her' 'Her from cutting' - slitting wrist 'Her beautiful blue hair off' - blue hair was actually the blue vein in her wrist...
I like these fun fact, but the part when the ba da bum's is when the heart stop its because the blue is representing her veins and when she cuts them off, she dies. Ik that its not that, its just imagining. (Anwering the comment below me ⬇️⬇️)
