I loved Stuart's versatility...such a tragic loss of such a talented musician....wish he could have stayed alive...I often wonder what kind of masterpieces he could have written & performed if he had lived...RIP Stuart Adamson.
I was honoured to meet Stuart backstage at the Forum - Town & Country Club, London in the 90's. His music lives on, and means SO much to SO many people.
At 55, I seem to be contemplative these days. Life is good, and not so good, and messy, and at times joyful. You learn, and end up different places. Some of life is in your hands, and some of it is pure luck, or Just happenstance. Some of it is a cycle, a beginning, middle and and end. There are things to share with people, loved ones, and there’s stuff to do for your individual SELF. How to juggle it all, and make sense of it. We’re limited humans. Some day it will all make sense… That’s the way I’m feeling at 55. I’ve had enough road behind me, to make mistakes, learn from them. Some have a silver lining. What choice else is there to make. Take it and realize it’s messy. Our time here on Earth does not require being perfect. And that’s ok…
What a moving version of "In a Big Country"........"Stay Alive" - oh the irony. Too Many Ghosts..................... Thanks Tom. 292 views - if fans of Big Country and Stuart knew of this it'd be 29,200.
Just Love Stuart's singing/voice, Great Man, watch his videos "ALL" The Time. So Missed!!!! ❤️ You Stuart. Ported on ; 12.16.2021. LOVE YOUR Laught & Smile!!!
Lots of people play shattered cross but I’ve never seen any play it Stuart’s way,a bit like the traveller where you carnt pin down exactly what’s going on just genius
This is incredible, thank you so much for posting this. I really love the Raphaels album and it's played often. Good to see Stuart in such good spirits. Private Battlefield was amazing and I may have had wet eyes at In A Big Country. One question, I'm always confused about the Blue Healers thing, was that an alternative name?
Brief glimpse of Ian Grant? There’s always a fly in the ointment nonetheless this is a great show. 3 separate times I almost saw these guys live but something always seemed to prevent me at the last minute. The last thing that crossed my mind back in the late 90s was that Stuart would soon be gone.
Really interested to look back on this project. They were cooking up a fusion here that needed more time to be cohesive. While Nashville is great for finding talented collaborators with deep roots in American music, it's a treacherous place to work on a new artistic sound that no one yet knows how to market. These guys were onto something with blending alt country/ celtic/ folk/ singer songwriter poetry. I just wonder if Austin or Chicago would have allowed more time to find their wings and fans without the pressure of trying to break through quickly in Nashville.
