Just sign him already !!! If he goes, I’m done with Jays. Atkinson is ridiculous. He was ready to dish out millions to Ohtani. I don’t get it. Atkinson must go NOW !!!
@@StephenHunts Don't compare a first base to a pitcher. In 2 years he had 6 weeks of good hitting and you want to give him a huge contract. Bautista was a better player Vlad is an idiot Trade him
@@StephenHunts Chapman and Semien did not want to play for Toronto do to John Schneider and the man child Vlad. The Jays had 207 million dollar roster that sucked. The core could not get a run in the first if their life depended on it. Time to trade Vlad and Bo and get something. The AAA roster cannot do worse . No free agents want to play under Schneider and with Vlad.
Without Vladdy Jays would be nothing! Jays management is nothing now. Toronto FANS must show some fortitude. Toronto media are in bed with Toronto Jays management. FANS can make the changes. Open your eyes and speak up. Money is the only thing that gets action.
There's no harm in having Vlad play third base for the remainder of this season. The Blue Jays aren't making the playoffs, anyway. Give him the MLB reps at third base in games that don't matter, and see how he does. If his third base defense is looking substantially worse than league average by the time spring training rolls around, don't do it. Moving Vlad to third base also increases how much he gets paid. He's going to cost a bit more payroll if he does well at third base to close out 2024. It also increases his trade value.
@@christopherblack4520 Then hopefully his quality of play at third base for the remainder of the season will convince the front office to not move him there in 2025.
@@Dulcimerist Third base you have to cover the hot corner plus accurate throws to second, first or home. That is just too much for Vlad It might fry his brain where it affects his hitting. Keep him at first, I don't know how you correct his base running.
Guerrero, Adames, Santander, and Alonso. That would be a CRAZY lineup. Won't happen though cause it would help us too much and Atkins wouldn't want that.
They could dh him and Alonzo each playing 1b half the time. They hitting has been good most of the season anyway Turner was only ok and belt was that good either last year.
They’re not going to pay him what he wants. . Guys look at the financials of the team , they will have about 50 mil to spend in offseason They need a 3b or 1b if Vlad moves Bullpen arms “ multiple “ and a starter as well . And if you extend Vlad there’s at least another 10-20 per season for just him . They are not going over the 2nd tier threshold . Not enough money to go sign all the holes / a big free agent / and extend Vlad Something’s gotta give
having a top flight shortstop would help, but the Jays are average at best with Bichette...so if they're going to move Vladdy to the hot corner, then they absolutely have to improve defensively at short....which means bye bye Bo. Frankly I like the idea of Vlad at 3rd, given a full season I think he could bring himself up to being average....never a GG winner, but good enough....provided he's got an above average shortstop playing next to him.
Here's the thing when the Jays brought up Guerrero early his bat was MLB ready but his defense was not. The way any player gets better is to actually make plays, preferably during a game because there is more pressure. Even plays in minor league games count because they are learning and trying to improve. Vlad was not given this opportunity like most of the other players are given to practice and make errors in the minors. I think he should give it a try and I think he should play 3rd in winter ball to get more plays in. There is a study that says you need 10000 hours to get really skilled at something. Vlad hasn't had that opportunity to practice 3rd base. I wonder if there is a way to add up all the practice so far. Especially game plays. (There are some innings where he doesn't get any plays at 3rd. ) I think this stupid management thought they could convince Vlad to just dh. I don't like kids only playing dh, I think they should get a chance to play defensively. (This current management is crazy, they claim they want players who can play different positions but they never move Bo anywhere and Vlad has been stuck at first so these 2 aren't that versatile. This management has been mismanaging the development of these players and the ownership is blind to it. It might also be why we have so many weird injuries over the years
Omg, just sign him for first base, he is one of the best there, hitting Luke he can, and love playing for the Jays. Find someone else for 3rd, or get one of the rookies ready for it. We need bull pen pitchers and DH...work on that Geez Louise
Vlads stats at third base back in 2019 are tainted. Vlad was not in shape back in 2019. He has since learned that while he can excel and not be in tip top shape in the minors, but in the Majors, you best be in shape.
Not the point & just shows they can afford it 🙄 That wasn't even why Rogers wanted him, it was to open up asia market because it's a communications corp. If they want people in that multi million $ reno paying Vlad is worth just as much 😉 Ps... That makes signing him at this point probable worth even more to them!
I think Vlad plays a good 1B. Leave him there. Don't foolishly sign a 1B free agent this off-season - the Blue Jays likely won't be contenders in 2025, so sign Vlad to a big extension, leave him alone at 1B and DH when he needs a break, and look for another 3B in future years. Geez, this is so simple.
@@ejay1912 If Bregman is open to that, it could be a nice option. Looking at his second half stats, he might be able to snag some term and a payout. It will be interesting to see what he signs for, and I bet the Jays will at least put in an offer.
He is not a 3rd baseman. Please please please. You made that mistake before. I cant believe he is saying he is the best player in the world. OMG! Not very humble now is he? May have been born in Canada but doesnt have the mentality. He cant even run bases. I like Bo. Didnt have a good year but cant all be good.
The best player that only can play first base or DH, not smart enough to play third base. How can you you teach him to run the bases, come on out by ten feet and looking stupid at the umpire. I do not have him the best hitter, when it counts he hits into a double play, fly out or strikes out and if he gets a single then he makes a base running error. Trade him not worth it.
How late do you stay up at night coming up with this shit? You did not quote ONE accountable person to support these suppositions. I guess you gotta try to get subscriber numbers up somehow. Click bait no longer works.
Considering this video analyses if playing him at third could work and how that relates to free agency, it doesn’t need to be source heavy, more statistic based. This video discusses whether the idea of a move to first is a good or bad move, not discussing what the jays actually plan to do, there’s hardly any evidence and frankly I doubt the jays themselves no what they plan to do
