The reason they're so ridiculously upset when they get kicked out is that they also lose the opportunity to play for any other professional team too. Their pro career literally "dies" if they get kicked. EDIT: I was totally off on my post-- they only lose the chance to compete on Japan's national team in the future. Their pro careers are otherwise unaffected. I guess since everyone who gets eliminated acts like they've been given a death sentence, I made a mistake about the consequences.

Not hate But Connor doesn’t know that in some cases people spend most of their early life not having a life and just focusing on their talent to become pro at it So facing a challenge that if fail means you can’t no longer be pro or do anything about it Is like knowing you be killed but you will not be fully kill and just waiting to die, wanting to die but can’t… just wait to finally die Yes is lame … but people in sport take their career seriously Once it is destroyed they feel like they have nothing left
@andynorck2389

@@andynorck2389 I mean it is pretty lame to put all your self worth and time into a single hing that inherently will expire within 20 years. You basically have 40 years of "life" and then what? Gonna actually try to become a healthy rounded person after you retiree because your body just can't beat fresh one's?
@Zenrielle
@Zenrielle Год назад
@@crazydragy4233 who says they don't have a life while being an athlete that's literally the secret sauce to it so you can do it lmao. You need people around you to be able to continue playing regardless of what age you are. That's why so many greats have families regardless whether they are married on not. It's a source of strength as well.
@hikatenmaiafu4391
@hikatenmaiafu4391 Год назад
@@crazydragy4233 Athletes have a life outside sports. In anything competitive sure, the early years and times near a competition are when they train intensively, but other than that they do get downtimes. Like anyone else, they can save and invest in other skills or source of income if they want to. Working at one or more conventional 9-to-5 jobs, freelancing on your passion, getting degrees...these commitments also takes up a huge chunk of time and resources, yet it's not automatically assumed the people can't invest in other things. -------- As for the "inherent 20 years expiration", well, it is only for the 'job position' of being 'an athlete'. Just like how there are different types of jobs in any career field, athletes can continue having a career in sport other than being an athlete. So no worries about them having 'no transferrable skills', because like people in other career fields, they can just hop into different jobs or continue to become experts. It's common even for conventional office workers to keep changing their positions due to demands, whether in the same workplace or when changing workplace. Such positions often have shorter and more unpredictable 'expiration'. Before they know it, they're restructurized to different positions, be it an upgrade or not. Also, 'restarting' career in a different field later in life is something people in stable, conventional, long term jobs do. Later as in when they're nearing or past retirement age. Sometimes voluntarily, sometimes not, but the point is it is possible, especially if they got decades of work experience & productivity to back it up.

@@bottomtier3823 they show people being good, but it does not show it in a way that is realistic. I love sports but my gripe with sports anime is that every sport tells a story about a player, or a team naturally so when people make a fictional story they always seem to go overboard. There is always seems to be an artificial raise of the stakes where if the writers just used real world concepts there would be naturally high stakes. Like imagine blue lock but instead of a tournament for the best team, they look for the best players like they do in real life, so you have teams competing with rivalries in a round robin style while each player is also competing against their own teammates for the spot light in any given match. That is a realistic way to have high tension and drama without making some weird fighting style tournament.

@UtterlyTangential

@bitterorange7843 The definition of the word interesting is, to paraphrase, something that "arouses curiosity and catches attention." If I start to watch a show or movie, and it has the same subplot as half of Hollywood cinema, that's not going to capture my attention(fuck, the sheer amount of 70s-90s American movies that have this exact subplot that we're discussing here is absurd) The whole problem with clichés is that you know how it's going to end, at least to a degree. If you can predict what's going to happen, and do so even somewhat accurately(oh geez, this horror movie has a dumb blonde in it. She's gonna die for sure), because of the sheer similarities to other media, that is, by definition, not interesting. It may still be entertaining, but it is not interesting.

@@twgok3162 The fact that something happens in real life doesn't mean that it can't be a movie cliché. Look it up. "Rival/enemy team up" literally is a movie cliché. Also, "people working together and having conflicts," as you say, is not even the same thing as "rival/enemy team up". The two concepts overlap sometimes, but they are totally different. How are you not able to differentiate between them? So, by your logic, if 2 people aren't directly rivals, then there is zero internal conflict? How is it possible to lack that much nuance? People disagree, lie to each other, get blackmailed into helping the enemy behind their friend's backs, sometimes a wildly unfair choice gets dropped on the party of protagonists and they become divided on which course of action to take. All of those situations involve internal conflict without the inclusion of a "rival/enemy team up."

I hate critiques like this bro said “Bro playing for the Japanese team isn't that big of a deal” Stakes don’t have to be Oh if I lose I die stakes just have to be meaningful to the characters, for example, dying in a bloody battle isn't inherently meaningful to a character if they don't value their life but living to old age to where they can't fight would be a horrible fate but to us, the audience that doesn't make sense. For the characters of Blue Lock people who have spent their whole lives for one specific desire to pull themselves out of poverty, to fulfill a childhood dream, or just desire to be seen and not being able to do any would necessitate such an extreme reaction to show us the audience how much it means to them, if they were just “Ah man I guess I suck better go home” it's not going to leave any impact at all.
