Nagi Seishirou, one of Blue Lock's most important characters perfectly embodies the "genius" character archetype and in this video I'll be breaking down why. #bluelock #nagiseishiro #bluelockepisodenagi #bluelockanime
That basically describes Vegeta and Goku's early rivalry dynamic. Vegeta fought to validate his pride, but Goku fought for the pure unfettered love for fighting.
I love how Blue Lock acknowledges that talent alone is not enough. Nagi and Reo only played football for 6 months and they were MONSTERS but as time went on their prodigious nature wasn't enough and we see that clearly in the NEL while people like Isagi who have both talent and a lot of hard work far surpassed them. And I like how Nagi whenever he had a taste of hard work was one of the best players in Blue Lock but because he is "The Lazy Genius" he defaults back into letting his raw talent take over which, for all intents and purposes, nerfs him
Currently Nagi isn’t antagonistic enough with Isagi to be his greatest rival. At least nowhere near the level of Barou, Rin or Kaiser. I feel like that could lead to something unique though, where Isagi is friends with him but develops the mentality of “I need to beat this guy.” Because I do think Nagi has the greatest raw potential in Blue Lock, and if he has a full awakening and takes into account the advice of everyone else, he will become a monster capable of surpassing everyone.
We saw a glimpse of how ruthless Nagi can be when he ditched Reo to feed his inner striker’s curiosity. It could be possible if he awakens that Nagi treats Isagi in a similar way though unlikely
I don't think Nagi can rise to become Isagi's rival by having an ego awakening like Barou. Awakening isn't a simple shonen power-up, it's achieved by facing your physical limitations and using that to achieve your ideal play. We see that Nagi didn't want to put in the effort and try to break through his limitations. He gave up trying to improve himself. That was his downfall. That's why he can't awaken his full potential.
I personally believe that the person who is going to become Isagi's rival is Chigiri. He is someone who understands his physical limitations and is able to awaken his full potential and achieve his ideal plays. He perfectly embodies Chris Prince's philosophy
@@jdelacruz14791 and then he has his whole “reo, let’s change” thing and seems like he’s suddenly seems get his motivation back, he seems to have learned from barou and rin why it’s important to keep going even after reaching whatever short term goal you made (like nagi’s very short term goal against isagi.) he clearly WANTS to improve now and i don’t doubt he’ll prove to be one of the greatest strikers in blue lock, in fact he’s usually shown to be on par with isagi, rin, and barou since those were the only blue lock characters to when score in the u20 match 💔
would be really cool for nagi and hiori to interact. both were considered geniuses, and both love video games and may view things as such, hiori the burnt out genius who had previously lost his love and spark for the thing he was good at but had it reignited by isagi, and the lazy genius who is just beginning to find his love and spark for that same thing that was also ignited by isagi. and i think hiori’s passes would be amazing for nagi. would be cool if we saw a swap of another 2v2 type scenario and isagi and reo teamed up and nagi and hiori teamed up, first battling other teams and then eventually each other plus, hiori has a vast knowledge of soccer and its history and a good mind and wants to share that too, so nagi having questions, hiori would be the perfect person for him to be working with and asking, and he can show him more players and plays to emulate and is a good person to bounce ideas and creativity off of. he wouldn’t take over too much like reo or isagi either, and would be willing to let nagi try and fail at running plays and being creative i think, and stepping in at the right times
I'm surprising you made this video without going into Reo character not once,Reo is like one of main reason for Nagi character Reo as a whole is the character that made Nagi because without Him, Nagi would not even play football. Even in Ep nagi spin off, you can't go a chapter without Nagi thinking about Reo A reo video go hard ngl
@@jaredkline2351 without talking about Reo whole ass character I meant because shit lord i can't look at nagi video without someone going into Reo whole character
because it's a nagi video, not reo. You're like that one friend where u put someone on a good music, then when they listen to it regularly you keep reminding them you put them on. Like bro, it's cool that reo is the reason nagi is playing football. Doesn't mean nagi isnt his own person
Another interesting thing to note is that nagi is said to also be very gifted academically, placing only under reo even though he sleeps through all his classes. His parents, too, were very relaxed and didn't really interfere with his life. Nagi lived in a state of thinking he was doing 'good enough' because his bare minimum allowed him to excel anyways.
Just saw episode nagi. Honestly good time but I feel it would have been better if they waited for the 2nd selection to finnish (in episode nagi). I REALLY wanted to see Nagi and Reo's interactions after the 3 v 3 match. Also why was zantetsu on the field at the end?
I found i had natural talent for music instruments. Within 1.5 yrs i was intermediate in all. I found it weird that others dont WANT to master everything. Inwas a big fish in. Small pond...then i fiund out i was NOT the best. I was and STILL WILL become the greatest musician. I cant get there on talent.
OMFG, dude, I finally found you after almost 6 years. I’ve been a fan since the start of AnimeX and I loved the “What if naruto was an Uchia?”. Dude, I just wanted to say that I just LOVED your videos and I’m glad I could have another chance to watch you.
Musician are so dumb...when they say music isnt a competition 😂😂😂😂😂😂then why even play? How do you get better?? You show others I AM BETTER.any day "i eish i vould sonit" i dsy iCanr wait till i am that good. They faird beforentheu started
What are you talking about ? Many people don't care about to be the best. People can get better only to surpass their own limits or by pure love of music. I play music and personnaly I dont care about the others 😂
This video was great but I do disagree with the beginning that neji isn’t a good example of the talented character. I believe neji is actually a great example of the prototype of what Nagi became
@@WaterM2 I actually just got out of it. It was definitely underwhelming and having read the Nagi manga myself, I think it rushed thru quite a bit. I still had an ok time with it tho, as did my buddies. One who never even touched Blue Lock wants to get into it now, so there’s that at least. I would give it like a 6/10
wouldn't that just be shidou, well ig he's a 2 dimensional nagi but shidou is just a nagi with perpetual "heat" where even reo compared them being alike as prodigies
Isagi going to be bluelocks demon while nagi going to be bluelocks Angel with his Grace in handleing the Ball while isagi goes for the Power plays Were strengh is needed
Ive gotten to the point that the nagi side manga I enjoy so much more than the actual manga bc Nagi when the mangaka focuses on him and does him right is one of my favorite manga characters ever
he was called a "talented hunter" in the story (he wasn't really talented he just had a bunch of strength and what not to overwhelm literally everything) but the only thing i can say he has talent in is "survival" and that's really it
