Thank you for this challenge! For my fellow list lovers here ya go!! -7 still life drawings Draw at least three items made from different material-spend maximum of five hours on each drawing -3 watercolor Paint at least three items made from different material-spend maximum of five hours on each painting -A scrapbook Plaster whatever vibes with you in a notebook. ANYTHING. ( personal suggestion, choose a mixed media journal that you don’t like the look of. If you get a pretty fancy journal and you are like me, you’ll be afraid to “ruin it”. get a journal that you want to cover completely with you! ) Additional- washi tapes, cute stickers & printing can all add up to be kinda costly, so don’t feel bad if your scrap book doesn’t fit into instagram aesthetic scrapbook standards. You can still press leaves, write a quote you like in pretty calligraphy or maybe just your grocery list! Staple a baggy of your favorite tea to one of the pages baby, go wild honeypie -a photo diary Take one photo a day. Maybe set a timer for each day of the week at different times of day so you get different lighting! -one full piece Any medium go buck wild honeypie Now if you excuse me, I’m gonna go draw objectively too many sans the skeletons’ in my scrapbook :>
Saw your tiktok! I've been burnt out from drawing for school lately; this sounds like it'll be fun and I'll get to draw for me instead of others while still improving :)) Tysm for this
Just the motivation I needed right now! Months ago, I stopped drawing daily and art started feeling like a chore. I think it was because I never challenged myself with things out of my comfort zone (I've only ever drawn human characters 😭) but I'm already thrilled to start this challenge! It will surely keep me active during vacation and I just feel like I'll have fun! Now, I just need to convince my friends to try it with me!!😋
About the Blue Period anime... It's not SAO bad, but I think manga readers will be disappointed. The anime cuts some of the source material, (and most of the exposition about art) but it keeps the most important bits, which I liked seeing in color and I think anime only people will enjoy.
For the record my friend showed me the anime, I haven’t read the manga but I want to, but I think the anime is amazing!! Maybe it leaves out a lot that’s in the books or something but for me watching it as a stand-alone it totally spoke to me as an artist and has some really, really beautiful scenes. I would highly recommend giving it a chance!
This is such a good idea! Im gonna do this with little adjustments to the prompts to best cater to my summer art goals I set for myself that I've totally been staying true to... :') good luck can't wait to see your journey!
Thats perfect!! :D Its so cool seeing everyones excitement for the project, hopefully i'll have a place you guys can all send in what you're working on if you want :DDD
I got the first volume of blue period a while ago and your tiktok motivated me to finally read it lol I hope reading it and trying this challenge is what I need to get back to creating cause I’ve been in burnout for a long while and I’ve been lacking direction, so thanks for making this :)
currently watching this thinking "oh yeah i can work on this in july and august once i've healed" whilst.. resting my wrist.. over summer... before my second year of college..... because i totally overworked myself................. conclusion: maybe it won't happen this year, but it'll be fun to try next summer! thank you for making a video on this its such a cool idea!
omg why are we in the exact same situation, im resting my wrist before my second year too skdfhsdkjfh Which is why i probably wont fully complete this but ima try lmao, I HOPE WE BOTH HEAL UP FAST, GET LOTS OF REST ABD DONT OVERWORK
I've been watching your TikTok for a while now and I'm so happy you're finally making RU-vid videos - this is going to be a great career for you! The one thing I want to ask is for a room tour please? I'm struggling with my art space rn and I cant get my creative juices flowing where I work.
Aaaaa that's so so sweet and encouraging, tysm!!! And omg that's a great idea! I've thought about doing a room tour a few times but parts of my room are still suuuuper unorganized. I'll try to make a video like that sometime this summer tho :DDD
@@herecomesko No stress! Just wanted to let you know that you are one of my biggest art idols out there. Love you so much and keep up the great work! :3
I can't wait to try this - it looks like so much fun for the development of my art skills!! I wish you the best of luck with your injured wrist and hope you can return to art school soonio~
Hey dude! I’ve been attempting university for almost 6 years and am still technically in 2nd year of my degree, so don’t be too hard on yourself for needing to take time off! All of the most interesting people I’ve met while studying have needed to reduced their study load or taken time off, so please don’t be too hard on yourself. Everyone’s on their own path, so try not to compare yourself to them, but even more importantly, be weary when you think or say things like “I should’ve been finishing 2nd year of art school this past month”, aka comparing yourself right now to a different version of yourself (if that makes sense?). For example, I went straight to uni after high school and started a bachelor of science degree. I got halfway through (1.5 years) before taken a semester off and transferring to a different uni. However, after studying for a year in my new degree, there was a part of me that would say “Ohh, if only you had of just continued studying you could have graduated by now”. And then when I failed my first year, and then second year, it kept happening, where I would have this tracker at the back of my head, reminding me that I should have been graduated by now. It's common advice to not compare yourself too much to others, but also be careful when comparing yourself to yourself! Anyway, sorry for such a long comment lmao, I just wanted to remind you that it’s okay to REST and take care of yourself! This is the first video of yours I’ve seen (was searching for Blue Period content) but hearing you talk about taking time off resonated with me. Keen to see you upload more in the future! Take care :)
I’m gonna try like 2% of this. Saw the anime and hits home for basic college stress and self-neglect. 💀 honestly want to get back into semi-realism since my art has been stuck in cartoon limbo and same face syndrome. Btw this is the first I’ve ever heard or seen of you and you seem wholesome. Definitely checking your art out 💛
This sounds so fun!! I'd love to do this! (it's such an awesome project for summer!) On another note, I adore the ending of this video?? It just feels so nice and sweet coupled with the flip through and the animal crossing music and aaah! It just stuck out to me in the best way possible 💕ty for sharing, and for the video!
This sounds really fun ! Though I have other art projects for summer, I’ll try to at least make a sketchbook because I also need to improve on animals and buildings things
I’ll do this in my winter break (I’m from Chile so we’re entering winter rn). Thanks for the motivation, I’ve feeling rlly depressed lately but this gave me something to look forward once my exam period is over 🥹
omg i’m gonna try this this summer !! i’m going into AP studio art next school year and taking dual art classes this summer :)) this is gonna be fun! and good luck to others who are doing this !!
Hii, Here from Tiktok. I do recommend watching the anime too! I think it's really good. I haven't read the manga myself yet but am about to. This idea is really fun and I hope I can join!
I was going to try this this summer too, but it seemed hard so i just.. didnt. But thanks for the motivation heather!! I will definitely try this too :)) love your stuff and take care of yourself!!
@@herecomesko Np, you’ve inspired me to actually keep practicing with my art to the point where I’m actually proud of what I make because I never usually have the motivation to draw, so really I should be thanking you!
ahhh i need to start working on my portfolio for college and have been scared to work on still life’s and such since i really only draw cutesy anime ^^ so i’ll be trying this :)
I know I have a spending problem. Recognizing the problem is step one…. However I will not be moving onto step two. HAD ME CACKLING. I like that you made an art challenge off a book that impacted you!
started an lgbtq+ characters sketchbook for pride and seen the difference consistent fun experimenting makes so gonna try this one too :) definitely need to get the manga now also the fit and your art style omg
Okay okay, so I found you from TikTok and I was looking at the stuff in the background. And I have the same pink platypus plushie. That’s it. Just thought I’d let you know lol
I’ve been wanting to do this challenge for a while in hopes it would improve my art ;w; planning to do it in summer!! Also manga has its own charm that I love a lot
The timeframe i'm setting for myself is to (hopefully) complete everything before school starts in the fall :) Which is the same timeframe in the book! :D
Thanks for this project, I had stopped doing art but I'll try it. If you keep reading the story theres a lot of challenges and good exercises there, I wish there was a real course to prepare for art school tests. Anyways, idk if you want but you could post your progress in Instagram it would be cool to have someone doing it "with me".
