Ned Heywood established his Chepstow workshop in 1983. The majority of his production is heritage ceramics, plaques, and illustrated paving slabs commissioned by companies and civic societies throughout the UK..
Ned is self-taught and has developed his own unique techniques in different branches of pottery. Having served as Mayor and deputy Mayor of Chepstow he has been closely involved with the community and is highly spoken of by everyone.
He co-founded the Chepstow Festival in 1988.
In 2014, he was awarded an MBE for his services to the community in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.
