Blue Plated Five | Black 5 44871 heads for York on The White Rose - 24.02.24 

Now fitted with a blue smokebox numberplate and shedplate, Black 5 44871 made a return to the south to cover a few RTC trips. This first one, travelling to York, via Grantham on the outward and returning via Lincoln with steam as far as Peterborough.
Two shots of the Five show it in contrasting weather conditions, firstly under cover of fog as it heads through Watton-at-Stone on the Hertford North line, and secondly in perfect sunshine pacing through Grantham, looking very smart from her recent winter maintainence.
