I’ve live in Blue Ridge almost my entire life. Y’all should have went at midnight 😂 Btw Those sounds are probably just the folks up the holler messing with y’all. We love it when ppl come asking “locals” questions. We do our best to give you a genuine experience! Y’all come back! 👋
We we're there for Hrs and Nobody was there Messing with us or not I carry my gun everywhere so I felt safe. We were on vacation up there and I only had my wife for the camera and she was not doing it at night.. It was a Beautiful place and lived up to the legend. In Europe and here in the US witches were not allowed to be buried in consecrated grounds. They were denied the dignity of a Christian burial. Instead of facing East to face Christ at the resurrection they were buried facing West. The accused witches at Salem were not buried in the local cemetery. But that may have changed through the time since the Witch Trials in Salem to this witches burial. Plus that belief may have been different in certian parts of the country. I had a couple of ancestors, one not that far back, that were healers and knew about other things I guess, who were NOT allowed to be buried in the same cemetery of their community but on the outside in unconsecrated ground. In Appalachia the Granny and Grandpa witches were healers and they were actually "Christian Witches, and they brought all those old world practices over with them from Europe. Many had Native ancestry and learned things from the Native Tribes on how to heal with herbs and wort of evil. They were members of their local churches and were highly respected as the doctors in those communities. Many of the incantations are Bible versus and the words "Father, Son, Holy Ghost" were often used. I guess Miss Tilley had a tragic life loosing so many family to illness and murder. I guess she snapped and did the unspeakable. Put a curse on that community. Those granny witches knew to do such a thing would come back on them, and condemnation was the result of ever using that knowledge.
I am the descendent of the Longs,Bradleys,Chastains,Garretts,We are creek descent and Aires to the confederacy so many stories handed down who knows what is fact from fiction..I do know most of my heirs rode with the 6th Calvary under Col Smith and merged with the Tenn Vols.
I went on what was told by the locals. I couldn't research while in the middle of nowhere so I just went on that. Please do tell your side My followers would love to know the story.
Are you fully sure Heirs of the Confederacy. Elisha Stanley and his brother were drafted in 64 and kept leaving the army camp at Ellijay without permission (aka deserted) and finally got run down by a Confederate patrol in Sept and shot at home along with O'Kelly who was shot at the bank of the ford on the Tilly side of the river (old Aska road...now Shallowford Bridge Rd). O'Kelly and his brother had run away from his CS unit a year before and joined the EastTenn-US Cavalry volunteers. Aska/Rich Mtn/Toccoa was a troublespot for union sympathizers in the Chickamauga to Atlanta year of the war. The Stanley Settlement cemetery even marks them as anti-confederates on their modern gravestone. Is that written history wrong? I'm open to any other story as long as it is backed up elsewhere. I find history of the Garlands, Stanleys, Chastains... very colorful. I'm sure there are conflicting family stories.
Whoever is reading this and is haveing a bad day remember jesus loves you the bible is a love storey its history full of of love. If having a bad day pick up your bible read it. Its the number one best seller in the world.
Wrong tree...the tree in the middle is the actual tree they were hung from and she is buried underneath the tree. Also, unmarked graves were also slaves and people who could not afford a marker. Would love to see you go back at night and see if you pick up on more activity.
Yeah we definitely want to go back. We didn't plan on going there so our lack of knowledge had us searching for the grave and as you seen we got it wrong. Beautiful place though. Thanks for the comment
Many of the stones are mid century modern granite cuts replacing damaged, deteriorates or missing stones...sometimes guesses at the burial site. Same is true in the Stanley Settlement cemetery across the steel bridge. Most stones of the era in the highlands are found flat rocks with DIY etchings or etched bricks. Many were wooden and were lost a decade after burial. That Tilly Bend church was built in the late 1920s to replace the Tilly Mount Pleasant church now under the lake.
Not underneath the tree-you might want to walk down into the woods behind the graveyard a few 100 feet to see her actual grave. The church didn’t want to bury her with the other people in their graveyard. Most people don’t know that so they just assume it’s under the tree where all the candle wax is melted. 👍
I live in Ellijay ga. We live on some property that is connected to the trail of tears. Our home is beyond haunted. There is way too much history here in the mountains
We were up there yesterday evening… we live an hour away. The tree you pointed out in the video was NOT the tree she was hung from… it’s the one that stands solo in the middle.
i live in blairsville, i went there on july 3rd and the lights of the church kept coming on and off, and there was banging on walls coming from the church. That place isnt anything to mess around with
I went at night and did investigation of the Chastain house and also of the church at night and during the day got some good photos also and videos as I'm also a decent relative of the Tilley's it was amazing to see and hear Elizabeth talking and speaking back to me and someone in the church also
That is not the tree or Elizabeth grave. The tree is in middle of graveyard, has a bench under it and that is her grave by the bench. Foot marking says E.J.B Elizabeth Jane (Tilly) Bradley
I know you cant help it but it windy cant hear anything. Your wife is doing awsome job with the camera. Im subcribed to joe and rob channel urban ghost urban explorations. They got awesome content aswell.
I didn't have my foam cover for my mic so it picked up a lot of wind.. She says thank you. Yeah Joe and Rob make great videos as well and are good guys. Love the feedback keep it coming.
Super funny. Fun starts at 34 minute mark. "2 for yes" and camera person throws rock at 36:23. I'm dying! (Sorry if I spoiled it.) The most suspenseful part was, well, the whole video, just waiting for y'all to figure out the actual location. There very last moment was THE BEST! I can't wait to see more videos; I hope they are all this funny.
Nothing was faked in this video. If you think it or any of my videos are you are wrong. In this video my wife behind the camera does not investigate with me and only did this video because we we're near this location while on vacation. she was not happy to be there. If you go to time mark 27:10 as we walk down the hill a male voice is heard. Like I said. WE DO NOT FAKE VIDEOS. Hope you continue watching to see we are true investigators. Thanks for the support
@@ghostwhisperer2714 you literally can hear a male voice almost talking using breath. Like breathing out heavy while talking. Did you decipher what he said?
@@COL1N_ No we haven't but it's definitely is a males voice. I'd love to hear what you think he said. Let me know and then I'll tell you what I think. Don't want to put something in your head.
It’s hard to tell but maybe “ride girl”. I’ll extract the audio from the clip and give it to my AI to see if it can decipher what is being said and I’ll let you know. I did go to Tilley Baptist yesterday and Elizabeth Tilley doesn’t have a headstone by the tree anymore, it’s marked with a fieldstone and some coins. Also, Dollie Long’s grave has been knocked over and is lying on its back at the back edge of the cemetery. I did have a feeling like someone was watching me, and when I went back to my vehicle there were people parked outside it who didn’t say anything when I asked how they were. Odd lol.
@@COL1N_ Wow bet that was scary. I love the feedback and now the personal experience that you had. Thanks. I haven't made a video in a while but you've got me feeling like I should get back to it. I appreciate it.
Whole congregation moved inland to this plot in 1927 when the lake flooded the 1850s church. This was an impromptu cemetery hill for the Garlands and Tillys in the late 1800s. The church and most of the graves are after 1927.
Sad babys die young makes me cry i had a miscarriage in 1993 before my first daughter was born i know how the mothers feel losing a child. I have two daughters ages 27 and 25. Im 47. I have two granddaughters from my second daughter.
Go to time stamp 27:10 and watch as I walk down the hill you hear something speak in the Mic. Just cause nothing happen over her grave doesn't mean the spirit is there. Go check the voice out.
This is my great great great great aunt 😳. My mothers mom (her mother) was a Tilley then later my nana became a Hensley through marriage.. so interesting
They say cannibals live in the woods and it's dangerous at night. I put a link down below they say the witch come out during the day. It was a pretty creepy place even during the day
So they have it locked up because it’s been broken into and vandalized so much over the years. Keeps tourists out too. Those are vents under the house. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Must enjoy snacking on the residents of the posh lakehouse subdivision at the bottom of the hill behind the graveyard (where the Tilly church of the era really was)....or the subdivision a mile up Old Dial Rd....or the tubers, fishermen and campers at Sandy Bottoms Park 3/4 mile south on Old Dial.
@@ghostwhisperer2714 whew ... thats good. My first thought was after watching was that they were the ones inside the church messing with you with the knocking and stuff. Then I thought maybe it was cannibals' . Glad I was wrong on both accounts.
There's an entire neighborhood of lake houses just below cemetery hill on Tilly Bend Rd about 100 yds past the back of the hillside. I guess they've gotten lucky with the cannibals these past 5 decades.
Remember she is buried under the middle tree we found out from last commenter. Go back to 27:15 and watch as I'm walking down hill you will hear a male voice talk into mic. To cool
@@ghostwhisperer2714 you should hear the voice I captured with no equipment just my cell phone in the children's orphanage at Gettysburg I don't know if you know anything about story but it was a orphanage and it's extremely haunted not only by the children that mistreated but by the house mother that took care of the children anyhow about 4 years ago I went into the dungeon with the children were kept and mistreated and woman would deny mistreating the children and locking them in the dungeon but she did mistreat the children anyhow on this Ghost Hunt that was asking for volunteers to be locked in the dungeon and I volunteered along with about four other women but I was only one walking around we're sitting in the dungeon but I got up and walked around and I was asking are there any children in here. And I get a woman's voice and a complete darkness and it said no children and it's on RU-vid but I'm not sure exactly how it's listed it's under my name but I don't remember how I listed it. If I find it I will tell you exactly where to go to hear it but I'm had many experiences at Gettysburg and Virginia and other places but my RU-vid stuff is mostly a Gettysburg I just recently start using ghost hunting equipment and most the time I go by myself I'm not scared of the dead the people alive I'm worried about
@@barneyporter6138 That's an awesome story. We definitely will be hitting those places. I get some subs that look for stuff I've missed. It's cool what they find. Will have to meet up one day.
This is too funny. I have lived here my entire life. I can assure you that there are NO cannibals in this area. Those sounds are probably people just trying to scare you, because people come up there all the time. And the tree the hung her from was in the middle of the cemetery from what I’ve saw and been told over the years. But good video though but you need to research more for sure. Very misleading. A lot of those unmarked graves could be of slaves or people that couldn’t afford headstones not all babies. The very small graves are of babies or children. The Garland babies if you will look closer or pull up on find a grave you will see one passed the same day she was born the other was a month old. Doesn’t mean “stillborn”. Please again do research before you make false content just for views. Scary and interesting place for sure. Hope you enjoyed your visit.
You are way cold dude , go to the right to that big tree with the angel . That's where Ms Tilley lies & where she was hung just not in the tree that's there , they cut the original one down 😊
Go to 27:15 and listen to the voice . That's not me I'm up to far and that's not my wife who doesn't even want to be there. Paranormal is about different events for everyone who goes there. I've been to plenty of places big youtube starts have been and nothing happens. That's how it goes sometimes.
Exactly I didn't go to the right tree, because I was on vacation and was told this info by locals. My wife was behind the camera and has never been with me on a investigation and was not happy about me wasting her time. Go watch my video's, NOT a f.cking one is fake. No need to fake when real shit is happening.
That's me. My name is Erik Thanks for Subscribing. I Just watched the first 5 mins to find out what you mean and I can hear me fine. I do talk low sometimes but its why I call my self the Whisperer. I want you to hear the spirits not me talking the whole time. You will get use to it. Again Ty for the support and feedback. I mostly say the f-bomb and whoa whoa whoa anyways.😂
I find your videos hard to follow because of the audio can't hear all that your saying so if your telling the back story on where your at I miss most or all of it. I guess it may be because of the way you are holding the camera most of the ones I watch have hand held ones and there audio is excellent my speakers are at 100% and even with headphones hard to hear. Sadly unsubscribing for that reason only watched 3 or 4 and it is to hard.
