The encore was a tune called You're Everywhere. It was on the band's third studio album, Casino, released in 1990. This was a great night for devoted fans (myself included), as it was billed as "Blue Rodeo, Songs Seldom Heard" and the band solicited requests from its fan base through social media to map out the set list. You're Everywhere isn't part of the band's typical repertoire nowadays, so it was a treat to hear it again. I've been a fan since I first heard them in '89 while bartending at a large dance/concert hall at the University of Waterloo (located about 100km's west of Toronto). Whereas I probably saw Rush live around 8 times (terribly personal memory - no film camera in my head to play back events on demand), I know I've seen Blue Rodeo live three times more often. Sorry about the shakey video, especially at the start, as well as the lack of a better zoom, but I was in a front row balcony seat with an old Sony RX-100, mk vii, because they weren't allowing ticket holders to bring in larger DSLRs. PS - No, you hadn't heard that second song before. PPS - They have released 16 studio albums and counting, so there's much more where that came from...

Notice that most of their songs do not fade out -- most have a proper ending and therefore work well live. After all, BR is meant to be a live band. I've had the privilege to see them several times and was once able to tell Jim that BR are one of my "desert island bands." He was genuinely thankful.

another great reaction video, thought I might suggest one of my favorite Canada bands from my part of Canada, singing a song from your part of the world. "Great Big Sea - Mari Mac [Live]" I will let others suggest more songs from Great BIg Sea

Blue Rodeo always performs a concert at Toronto's big amphitheatre beside Lake Ontario at the end of August. On August 29, 2021 my wife and I had front-row, centre stage seats to watch Alan Doyle open for Blue Rodeo and, of course, sing along with them for the finale, Lost Together. Sadly, I don't have much in the way of video to provide, because every time I held up my camera or iPhone to record an entire song, I felt as though Jim Cuddy was looking down on me with disappointment. I blame my Catholic upbringing for such unnecessary guilt! For those who don't know, Alan Doyle was the lead singer for Great Big Sea. I expect Rory would like them too.

Just revisiting these reactions. I still think it's great that you got to hear Hasn't Hit Me Yet again, this time before a typical Blue Rodeo audience and with the pedal steel guitar solo (the first time you heard it was in a radio studio and so the solo was played on an electric guitar instead).

God song but atrocious quality. There are SO many better recordings out there, why choose one with crappy quality and they paid for it too... lol.

The answer to your question is that I wanted to have Rory hear THIS version of You're Everywhere, which the band hasn't played often. I told him he could skip right to the encore, but he graciously decided to do the whole thing. There's a much better sounding version of Hasn't Hit Me Yet recorded live in Halifax around 7 years ago - which gives the same feel as this one - but I've had another reactor get blocked trying to post his reaction to it. Finally, as a lawyer, I would never breach the the terms of my licence to watch the performance (the terms of which were provided to me before I purchased the ticket) by sneaking in my Nikon Z6 II instead of using the older pocket camera that was permitted. If that means "atrocious" sound, so be it.
