Damian you are/were a friend of an old friend of mine that I met in high school in the little town in CT (the first three letters of his name are Diy lol if that helps xD) and I remember him mentioning you fondly back then and me following that up by proceeding to fall down the rabbit hole of your music - years later, I'm so happy returning to it again! I've had "I still burn" from your Life project on repeat and now and again come back to your "Train in Desolation" track. Your stuff is magic dude and even though we never got the chance to meet before you had moved, I hope you're doing great and that you keep doing what you love! :)

I love coincidences like this where there's a tiny glimmer of a connection, but it brings people together in some shape or form xD I appreciate Damian's music a lot, back then in high school even though I let it slip past me a bit with the craziness of everything~I ended up going to a pretty stinky private middle school that wasn't much better probably than the horrible public version in this town and afterward had chosen to return to the public system for hs! It was great and I adjusted very quickly, but the pace of life there was ramped up a ton because issa big school lol ~ and now when I re-routed myself back here again at 24 xD & to know that we both grew up in(me fully and him partly, from my understanding)/ have the same hometown and once upon a time knew the awesome Diy-name guy(who I don't want to specify publicly for the sake of confidentiality in social media and all those shenanigans lol) I mentioned above is so rad!! This Diy guy was one of my closest friends in highschool and a literal angel with his pop-tart loving, social butterfly, linkin park-listening self xD I needa contact him again, it's been ages because adulthood got in the way lol, but I plan to soon! :) btw!! I dig your Yume Nikki pfp! I've only seen snippets of the game, but been meaning to play it on my own for ages(just need to make sure my mind can handle it lol)!!
@DelusionaryKiller Don't sweat it in the slightest :) you still have the rest of your life to live & it's insane that we are forced to put ourselves on these very at-first-glance budge-proof tracks in life when half of us don't even know the array of opportunities that are there for us to embrace and how to go about reaching them. I can assure you that there are "ways out" to manifest the things that we desire most whether it be re-invigorating yourself after a work shift by taking a walk in solitude so you have the headspace again to dedicate time towards a passion, taking a nap, having some caffeine, or whatever other method you see fit, before hunkering down to research instruments, watch some RU-vid instrument lessons, and/or learn Ableton or a similar program with or without an instrument of your own in tow. You still have time, and when you crave the serotonin that you get from playing instruments, you'll find any which way to be able to satisfy that need, so long as you seek it out actively, you'll be able to allot time for it. The only first hurdle is affordability, but once that's conquered, you're set! You'll turn that dream house of cards into a reality and it will be safe space and a place of comfort for you! Even if they're not your type of instrument, sometimes buying an instrument that is on the more affordable side will fill that void temporarily and provide you with an outlet at least to put your musical energy and creativity into. I struggle so much with playing string instruments, but the Kalimba(wooden handheld box with metal tines to pluck) was my saving grace lol ~ I have my fingers crossed for you on this end and I hope this helps :)

that's the first song I really cried to. Those melodies, those sounds... thank you for continuing to put out music like this that reaches into the depths of a lot of peoples hearts. even if we're all miles apart on this big blue planet, im glad i at least know some others around the world know the art that is sadness/damian's music.
Thank you for your amazingly consistent output over the past decade. Your music has had such a profound impact on my life, moreso than any other artist, and it's inspired me to create my own music as a way to confront the despair within me.
