Enjoy this recording with Bluebeam Specialist, Vinnie Stamato, where he guides us on how to create a 3D PDF and view it in the Bluebeam® Revu® - CAD or eXtreme® edition. These 3D PDFs can be created from Revit and Navisworks. In this recording you will learn how anyone can create, view, edit 3D PDF documents, as well as view and export the CAD data from the 3D model itself.

Would you mind sharing your follow up to the question about exploring a 3D PDF in other CAD softwares? It appears to me that one would need to download a 3rd party software. I would also like to ask if Bluebeam security would be able to prevent our model from being used in CAD? Thanks

It happens sometimes that when I change the colour of model in Revu 3D pdf and save it, reopen it, all the elements of the model are corrupted. Does this issue have a solution ?

Hello Edwin! I am a senior application specialist with Topcon Solutions. After testing with a dwg, we have found that the best workflow is to open the dwg in Navisworks and create the 3D PDF from there. That is assuming you have the CAD version of Revu, you do not necessarily need to have the extreme version to do this.

What's the plugin you need to install to be able to export to pdf? What website?

In Bluebeam under the Revu tab, in the Administrator , in the plugins tab this is where you want to see the version and year of Revit which you are using. Make sure the box is checked. In Revit under the Addins tab there will be a Bluebeam panel and a create 3D PDF drop down menu where you can create your 3D PDF. Also you will need to be in a 3D view to execute this. I hope this helps.
