Hey Blue Coat snare you talk about marching bands? In my time anyone caught in a D&B corps was given an automatic "F" for a grade. The towns that sponsored dc shows got pissed off cause they were making money on our shows at their festivals. So they put the drum corps last in the parades so the corps kids could march at the front of the parade with their crap marching bands then car pool back to the start and march with their corps. I marched with valve-rotor and two valve bugles. You march with trombones, trumpets and are now called a "team". You are a marching band - not a drum corps - with emphasis on color guard as the main selling point. Its ugly. So wiggle your butt some more. Most corps uniforms now are something you would see from a female modeling dresses for a weird costume company. Why? Have to sell uniforms every year and force changes to buy buy buy. These visual people are sick but they know the band directors are too stupid to question it. The schools are the cash cow. Visual judges make comments to force them to buy. It has turned into a big game. You are welcome to pick the sticks up against me. Ohio is not that far so get some of your coat marching band members and lets settle it. You have been trained for a design team, not a competition.
