Great review - thanks! Would you be able to do the occasional race on the Sprint? How does it fare in terms of race speed? I know the quick turn could be an issue with the stomp pad location but could it work for a racing scenario?

I’m very much a beginner in terms of paddle boarding although I’ve hired them out a few times. I’m in the market for an iSUP for some touring and was torn between the 12’ Cruise Carbon and the 14’ sprint Carbon. I guess the 12’ would be easier to handle being a beginner but I’d like the space on the 14’. Would you say it’s much more difficult to stand on the 14 than the 12?

love the review. im having trouble deciding between this and the Blackfin model V i do fish some but also just love to paddle. Mostly I paddle on lakes and some lazy rivers.

I have the 12 carbon cruise and love it, despite its weight!! They look, and are, bullet proof. And yes, the handle is in the wrong place on the 12 also.

After watching your reviews I opted for the 12ft carbon for myself due to being 15 st and my girlfriend opted for the normal 10ft 8. Went for bluefin as they look like they will take many years of use.

re: center fin for shallow water, I'm pretty sure the iRocker river fin would fit in the standard Bluefin Sprint. As far as the US fin box, I am sure there are river fins available generally.

you mentioned the kayak seat possibility. My 12' has a seat but I don't find the need for it. I sit, combination of legs straight out and seated cross legged, and kayak that way. no complaints either way.

Is there any risk of damage when you carry the pump like this on your deck? My friend intend to keep it in a special long dry bag.

Great review, I currently have the bluefin 12 carbon and I’m very interested in the 14 carbon. Do you think it’s worth changing to the 14? I paddle a fair distance in the sea and I love my 12 but not sure if changing to the 14 would be of much benefit? I guess I’d get a bit more speed from the 14 but will it be much of a difference? I love bluefin tho and recommend them to everyone! Also just to add with the bag and the wheels, Iv used a few time and worn a hole in the front pocket of the back! I feel like the wheels have been put on the wrong side, or the could have put a handle the same side as the wheels so you can hold it slightly more upright so it doesn’t drag as I put the pump in the front pocket, other than that the kit is perfect!

Good video, no life jackets or buoyancy aids, is that your preference?

thx. great review as always including deflection numbers. better even. perhaps the 14, either one, will be on Black Friday special pricing starting Monday. To be honest I'm not sure I could handle the add'l weight of the C14... especially if carrying inflated down a long path or down stairs to get to the water. I do OK with the inflated standard 12' at 32.8 lbs, but I have to pay a lot of attention to getting the balance just right. Also with kayak seat, extra blade, leash, fins and pump, the backpack weight is 41-42 lbs. for the 12 standard. With the 14 (if packed with kayak seat and extra blade), it must be 46ish for standard and 51ish lbs for Carbon. PS "Everything is a compromise" ... I think you mean tradeoff. PPS... would be helpful if you could weigh the paddles as that information is rarely given by the mfg on their product spec sheet. I have measured my Drive paddle at .. oh my, I have forgotten but I think it was 32 oz. I have a fixed full carbon paddle at 22 oz, so the difference is quite noticable.

Could 2 fit people, experienced paddlers who weigh 130 kg combined comfortably ride 1 single Sprint 14 board together (both paddling)

At 4:18, the lever doesn't need to be lifted up before engaging the fin: it will pop up by its own when the fin is pushed down. 😉
