Hehe, nice - thanks for showcasing ESC configurator, was in progress of making a similar video, I guess there is no need anymore :-D You can use any RTTTL melody - those were used as ring tones in the 90ies, just google the name of the song you want and add RTTTL.
another fun watch. I want to put the futurama theme on my blheli-s quads. I know everyone always says "Props off!" and I know from experience that they mean it too, but I usually throw a towel over my quad and leave the props on... to a certain extent
Gday Nick, this will be awesome when its refined a bit more or if its less likely to fry your esc's but ill try it on one of my micros the tunes are great, nice work mate.👍🛸
Thanks for showing us this, I've seen some talk about this firmware, but haven't tried this one yet. I was wondering if we could have each esc set to a different octave, so they sound more like a band, like blheli 32 has this option. Or would we have to write it a bit different for each one? This will go into my watch again latter for when i'm ready to try it.
I suppose anything is possible but I would think we could have to tweak the codes out to insert pauses or "silent" on each motors tones. Seems like a lot of work, maybe we can take from blheli32 somehow to achieve it.
Very cool! Thanks Nick - Only if ya have time to answer: My Betafpv 95 Hd is on a FrSky receiver. what do I do/change to use my DJI controller. Just remove the FRSky receiver and bind my DJI controller or do I change anything in Betaflight? Thanks for any help!!!
We likely have to solder up the sbus wire and the ground on the vista to the board. This after removing the frsky receiver. The betaflight configuration should already be set to sbus.
Fun! I'm gonna have to try that sometime. If you put a different melody on each esc, do you just get a bunch of noise or can you get things to play in canon or something?
@@SlugFulsvamp Using bluejay? We would need to have the tones broken out per motor. I am not sure where we can find something like that. But I haven't looked either.
Yes you can, there are two melodies that use polyphonic tunes in the configurator - am a bit surprised, that Nick did not show them, since they are the most fancy.
I had some issues with the bluejay firmware on my mobula 6. Engine sometimes wouldn't start and sometimes mobula had fail safe where it didn't before using bluejay. I fixed the problem of the motors on mobula by configuring some parameters. As I like 5" racing, I would like to know if this firmware is safe in stressful situations like racing flight. I've heard stories of ESC smoking... I use 4s, ESC Racestar 4x1 35A, RS2306 Emax motors.
I don't have numbers to show how reliable it is. I think in this hobby we have as much trouble with faulty hardware as we do firmware. I would check with local racers to see what their experiences are.
the "open melody editor" button doesn't show on mine. I have plugged the battery, clicked on "read setup" button. But the "open melody editor" doesn't show... Please help why
hey man gerat suff , do you know if or how is it posible to create this from a custum clip? i really want my escs to play an intro of a certain Hub but its not created anywhere :(
@@nistax2880 It is probably possible to automatically do it, but I don't know if anyone done it for esc sounds. A quick Google search for "video to musical notes converter" say that there is several free options. I have not tried any of them but it might be a start.
Take Nick's advice and *do not attempt this if it's your only quad.* It bricked my Mobula 6's ESC, I'm not sure if it's soft bricked or hard bricked from a settings issue. It plays music fine, but two motors are failing to spin now. I swapped a motor plugs and always get only two motor spinning now, sometimes 3, not sure why. Flashed back to JESC 48khz which has always been tried and true for me, and it still doesn't work.
@@NickBurnsFPV Thanks Nick, I sat down last night and figured it out. There is definitely something that doesn't migrate right and/or that needs adjusted when you flash from JESC firmware to BlueJay 0.12; at least with Mobula 6. My friend had the same problem, we both end up with 1 or 2 motors not spinning after the flash. Scarier is that if you attempt to flash back to JESC, it still won't work! The startup timing/protection settings get screwed up, and you have to restore them. I referenced my mobula 6 HD settings and that's what fixed JESC again for me. Then I flashed BlueJay again last night, and the issue occurred once again but I kept at it. The solution: *Set maximum Startup Power Protection to 1175 or 1200 in the common parameters. ESC-Configurator website did barf/glitch once while trying to change those values also, and they ended up stuck at 0 requiring a reload too. It's definitely a work in progress. But very cool site and now everything is good for me.
Many reasons. one would be if the fpv community wants to help test, maybe a new feature is being worked on, maybe the test resolves an issue on a particular esc where the previous version don't work correctly on. Etc.
Great video. but i was hoping the video is about min/max, rampup power. since that part is new to BLheli-S. it's used to have only one start-up power % and now it has 3 parts. you have many quads, if you play with those settings with your quads. you would find a good common theme for different motors/props and weights combinations/setups. that would help many people ( fpv veterans and new ). especially 1s and 2s setups. i find that it is good to have those setups with higher startup power like 1.00%, 1.25%, 1.50% ( in BLheli-S ).
Good question. I am guessing not, or at least not so far. I presume because the "song" aren't played with the typical instruments, or is very short, it doesn't get a claim.
