Great overview of the new HDZero fpv screen. Besides being able to share the experience of flying fpv with friends and family. This makes a great bench tool, much easier to use when working on your builds video system. HDZero and Analog. It has built-in analog as well as HDZero, auto switching and shared antennas. Happy flying everyone. 😎
I have one on order and I'm really looking forward to it, but it really annoys me that you can't use USB-C power (and the power switch is backwards imo)
I sure WISH Liftoff Micro Drones would join the sponsors and put all the Season/weeks tracks in the gym level. It would be awesome to learn the sequences in sim...
The text is cut off on the TV because the TV has overscan enabled. If you set the HDMI input to computer or game mode, the overscan should get disabled. I wish manufacturers would stop putting overscan in TVs. It's only needed for CRT TVs and makes no sense on a digital display with digital signals.
If HDZ comes out with a high quality box goggle, I sell my current goggles immediately… With age, focusing on the screens has become more and more difficult. They are too close from my face…
Thanks Nick.. I would like to have one. I've been running a cable from my goggles to my 10" monitor to share. This would be way more convenient.. Great review...🍻 Say, any chance you'll make IO2024❓
Ordered one. Wondering if my ELRS controller will interfere with the monitor antennas. Mounted on my boxer/tx16s this would be great for backyard flying or a fixed wing!
Thanks for the review! This is amazing! Love that they put Analog into it too. 100% will be ordering one some time this summer, not only a good bench tool, I don't have to have the analog module attached to the goggles for friends to watch (and hopefully get a good idea where I crashed too). Not concerned about no diversity for analog or 2 antenna's vs 4 on HDZero goggles, the price and feature set is well worth the price. With a Deinterlacing DVR to boot for Analog. Thanks for sharing this, Cheers!
Yea, there is that balance. Desire to share vs real world interest. My kids were only mildly interested when they were younger. Now, they can't be bothered with fpv/RC. :(
The fact it has hdmi out is very good though, can replace your hdz rx or act as a ground station. I can imagine a decent amount of people buying this who dont mind the bulk
I love how hd zero has options like this which makes me wish i could back them and their products and projects more they will always be the"poor mans" HD 👍🏻great review nick✌🏼
Thank you. This is 4 years old. I no longer have the quad. In general I don't fly angle mode, its very foreign and really unsightly as I have spent so much time working to develop my skills in acro/rate mode.
I got so burned out on the OSD issues at the beginning I went back to analog, pulled out the shark byte hardware and pulled the receiver module off the front of my goggles. Maybe time to give it another try? Is it easier to setup the osd?
Instead of video and smart audio you solder up a UART, same number of wires, so that’s not more difficult. Settings wise in Betaflight there is a HDZero preset, which is super convenient. In Alpha, Ultra, and Quicksilver flight firmwares it’s just one setting in one location (pretty self explanatory)… but if you don’t select the HDZero preset in Betaflight and manually set it up, you have to change the UART setting in the UART tab for MSP and select the HD OSD option in the OSD tab. Good luck, and happy flying.
@@NickBurnsFPV both, when im with the kids they can watch and when with friends its got very tribal with DJI watching DJI, WS watching WS etc - when we watch only in the goggles we are excluding our own friends, i've built a peli case that has a cap card for WS, cosmostreamer to view DJI, and now with the the HDZ monitor we can watch all 4 systems on 1 screen in the field :) wish you could buy a pre made one but then it would cost a fortune 🤔
@@NickBurnsFPV both, my kids can now watch, racing i can now watch hdz, and with friends i fly freestyle we all fly different systems and only spectate our own systems, so its got a bit clicky. i've built a pelicase with a screen that displays DJI via cosmostreamer, WS via a cap card, and now with this monitor it will show analog and HDZ, huddling round a screen cheering each other laughing - something i haven't had for the last few years since it got tribal
Hi Nick, I like it, I have been flying analog and I still use my EV-800D as a monitor. Now people who use HDzerro can do the same. Thanks for the video and information about this monitor.
Everyone in FPV should be on premium RU-vid to take those ads away anyway. We're all builders and most of us know how to repair a broken quad. If not you'll be learning how to repair your drone very soon to keep flying. If I get anything I'll be giving the giveaway to someone new to the hobby. I have someone in mind.
I can't really comment on the comparison of Tattu vs gnb. My Tattu batteries are much older than the GNB batteries I have been using. I hear good things about Tattu batteries.
Great job, I like your reviews, as always very precise and detailed ❤ Any comparison YMZFPV Starship X1 vs Flylens 85? X1 looks very fast, please what is your opinion which one is more agile?
I have a kinda off topic question question: How do you use the amp draw rate information? What does it tell you during the flight and how does it help?
basically it tells us how efficient or inefficient the motor/prop combination are. The higher the number the more energy they use and therefore the more battery they use. Of course as our throttle going up we expect the amp draw to go up as well. So from quad to quad we want to not only compare amp draw but also the amp draw at the same throttle values. Some motor/props are really efficient at low throttle but not at high throttle and the other way around as well.
Sorry to bother you. Is it possible to bind multiple drones to the DJI Controller 2 and Integra Goggles so they are ready to fly whenever I choose one?
@@sethu.uumez-eronini7339 Yes I believe so. I have the original dji controller bound to several drones, but I don't have the controller 2 or integra goggles. I do suspect they both can just as the older variants can.
100% agree. Why does the BT 2 even exist? I fitted a Mob 6 with BT 2, only to still plug the battery in wrong. Yeah, the BT 2 did not solve one of the problems it was ment to solve. At least GMB27 fixed it.
Hilarious that I keep hearing "great for the first drone". I got mine because I felt like the people in our apartment complex were more nervous about the 5" or 7". Even the 3.5" was enough of a flying chainsaw that I felt I was being annoying. So I went with the TH3+ and can actually have fun without feeling like I'm scaring people into protecting their faces. The Tinyhawk III + was my 13th quad. The Meteor 75 Pro is my second tinywhoop(tm) lol. IMO there is never a bad time to get into these things. GO GO GO!
I like the lenght of the videos as they are now. I like the "longer" videos where things are explained and go more into detail. Refreshing compared to most youtuber pushing only shorts
Hi i sorry but i had a question to ask have you experience drone sputter on this thing because i replaced the board and it still sputter when not level so i was thinking it was something to do with beta flight but i have seen no settings when it on a flatsurface one or 2 motor sputter and when it stables it will be able to fly i know it not the board because i replaced it already so i came here to see if you had an idea what it could be i was thinking it was the jumper t lite controller but i really just dont know i also know it not the motor because they all sputter differently
I am not sure of the symptom you describe. I don't think this question involves the radio though. Does this sputter mean the props don't spin? Or that throttle doesn't work? Or you aren't able to arm the quad to spin the props at all? Need more detail.
At the end of the flights after disarm I want to the battery to come back up to 3.5v. If the batteries are kept without charging or flight its best to keep them at 3.85volts
