The way AK put together the team was not what people were expecting at the time. They are going to make some unexpected moves and be right back in the hunt. If it were not for injuries the plan was a good one. Dont underestimate AK, he definitely has some moves up his sleeve! Go Bulls!!!

Finally someone speaks on how stupid tanking is as a strategy.

Tanking is not a 1year or 1 bad year resolution to prosperity. If you are committed to get generational talent, you have to forecast ,(like the Chicago Bears), the end game player - it may be two or three years out. Dump salary and manage contracts, while selecting core players to work with the targeted talent. It's a risk - a high risk withno guarntee .

The fact that the Lakers had 3 #1 overall picks on their team at once and haven’t drafted #1 since James Worthy in ‘82 speaks volumes about the power of the brand…lbvs Our brand can have that same effect once top tier talent sees that we appreciate our top tier talent I.e. resigning players who give their all like Demar Derozen, etc… 💯🤷🏽‍♂️

It comes down to talent evaluation and talent development. Coby and Ayo have shown some promise as young developing players, but the Bulls need a lot more talent.

The Bulls need to first and foremost make sure Dalen Terry is somewhere in somebody’s gym working on his outside shot and not somewhere playing video games. And put PWill in bubble wrap until he’s either signed or traded. Then find someone…anyone willing to take Vooch off our hands.

I agree with the overall message. It's layered and changing as mentioned. However, I see it as a combination of problems. Highest view coming down --- we lack trust that ownership truly cares or gets it. Fill the area and he is happy. I also don't believe our organization can make the proper moves needed if they truly believe building around 30+ year old talent that has to fight for the 8th seed will magically trade/sign/draft talent that makes any real impact towards significant movement in winning. Tanking sucks (the odds on the lotto have changed) but it gives us a better chance of getting something to have hope in vs riding out an old expensive big that can't guard and hoping to resign an old wing that fill cap space and do nothing to increase our odds of contending. Tanking hasn't locked down a #1 pick for the Pistons but it has provided their worthless front office better shots at young talent than sitting on old guys. Agree that tanking doesn't fix it but also think we need to take our medicine sooner than later. Made a mistake on Nikola --- I get the argument to try to match length of deal with DeMar...but why? Love DeMar but what does that do to bring a title back to Chicago? Deal with the Lonzo issue. Trade Zach now and take peanuts or bring him back to hope he stays healthy and averages 20 ppg to then trade him for something that doesn't excite as the NBA cap has changed... And with that cap change...does acquiring homegrown cheap talent make more sense? These aren't elite players or this topic isn't even needed because we would be winning and/or easily be able to trade them for value. I don't see how playing older/expensive guys that we would happily trade in "the right deal" gets us to the NBA Finals...even Central Division title any quicker. Love the Bulls forever --- but continuing down this path with the same leadership is just a waste of time in my eyes.

Completely understand the stats around first overall picks and success rates but the issue is that the bulls have no leverage or significant assets to acquire high end talent. Demar is a good player but he’s not a top talent. Add to that the fact that he’s older and declining, it’s not a great combination. Zach is average and overpaid, Vooch is serviceable but doesn’t provide value and the other guys are all role players. Coby is solid but would be better as a contributor. So AK has acquired a team of misfit toys and they are stuck in mediocrity.

Personally I feel that you should let DeMar go useless if he takes a team friendly contract. Don't tank but do let the young guys play. We have been holding them back for years. This past year Coby White, and Ayo was the only bright spot.

These 3 make good points. But what none of these 3 mentioned is what's the past 3 yrs with 9th and 10th place finishes in the East called? Tanking-lite? Get rid of those big contract players and rebuild through the draft for a couple of yrs. If the Bulls luck up and land the golden ticket player then seek a trade or the top tier free agent who can carry the team to the playoffs.

Sorry, I have zero confidence in the current FO ability to draft well enough to build through the draft, nor their ability to evaluate talent well.

Ok... So you have an organization incompetent enough to get you in the bottom four of win percentage. Why do people think that same org can build a championship roster around the generational talent they find in the draft in an adequate amount of time?

I'd rather tank because nothing akme have done has inspired me to believe they're d capable of putting together a title contender without the luck of drafting a superstar. I want this team to win titles, putzing about in the play in range or getting blown out of the first round is a failure and I don't care how AK tries to spin it. Ideally we'd move on to other execs by now but lord knows Jerry isn't rushing into that decision regardless of how poor akme have been

What Bulls fans are advocating losing as many games as possible to get a number 1 pick? Who? Most fans are saying to move off aging stars who aren’t winning to get as many young players and assets as possible to have a chance at being good vs knowing you’ll lose. Current team. Kevin, you are fighting a straw man
@Guilla4Life
@Guilla4Life Месяц назад
Anyone who advocates for tanking is operating from an emotional base…lol Tony’s argument FOR tanking is that fans don’t trust upper management to build a team, yet tanking means we HAVE to TRUST upper management to rebuild the team… Where’s the logic in that?? lol

Ok Buldog, and how did you conveniently left out this years 4 best teams left in the playoffs. Who is leading ALL these last 4 teams? Top 5 picks. Luka, Tatum, Edwards and Haliburton (who should have been 4th overall pick.) Everyone knew that except those 2 bozos in Bulls front office. Every single article in Chicago and ESPN had Haliburton going 4th, not to mention there were reports that Haliburton was the best interview they ever had. We all read the articles. And yet they didn’t draft him. They drafted a bust. Nevertheless, top picks are leading 4 finalists. And who will bet they won’t be dominating the NBA for the next 10 years. Who will bet that Edwards, Luka, Tatum won’t win a championship? As a top pick! Stop creating a narrative Bulldog, and bring up all the points to the light!
