Blueprints - Shut Up & Sit Down Review 

Quinn was really channeling Eddie Izzard in his one person dialogues in this episode.

I tried to play League of Landlords but I kept getting ganked by other landlords on midlane.

I really like the idea of this game, but I want to see if it can be rebuilt into something more serious. My proposed vision: No points, instead you have money; so you make money by finishing a blueprint. You don't draw blueprints, but instead 4 blueprints are put down and when it's your turn you choose one to start a bid on. Also dice, you don't just choose a dice and take it, you choose one to start bidding on on your turn (maybe able to do multiple things in a turn, like start bids on multiple dice and blueprints). Able to have multiple building projects up and running at the same time. Have a pool of dice, so you can try and buy a dice now, knowing that it'll probably be useful later or buying dice now that you won't use, other than to block an opponent. You could perhaps also have other things, like paying money to hide your building projects from other players (so you don't get blocked on crucial projects, but have to invest on it). Optionally: when bidding on blueprints, you don't pay up front, but instead pay for it when you finish the project - so what you're asking yourself is: "how much do I think it'll cost me to build this". This just means you don't get yourself in a pickle where you spent all your money on the blueprint, and can't actually buy any dice. Optionally: being able to sell off half finished projects to get money to finish other projects. So if you have like 3 projects going, and you're investing all your money into a really large project but undervalue how much the dice is going to cost, so you run out of money - auctioning it (at a lower price, of course) means you don't get that return on investment you wanted, but means you can get cash to buy more stuff and finish your other projects. It'll get those brains chugging along like; "do I want to spend a lot of money on this dice to block that player from getting a lot of money, but won't be able to use it effectively for a while, or do I save my cash to get the remaining building blocks I need so I can get more cash." "do I spend my money now buying dice for my smaller projects to get that money flowing, or do I buy dice for larger projects that aren't going to be finished for a while" I really want to go buy this game now to test out the homebrew of rules - but I feel that it has potential, just to extend the life of the game longer.

Wonderful review of BLUEPRINTS. I have CUBIST which has the same dice-building mechanic, but BLUEPRINTS has a much different strategic element. As always, I laughed out loud as I learned more about BLUEPRINTS. Thanks for all the effort you put into your reviews. Now I wish I had bought BLUEPRINTS instead of CUBIST.

Friend grabs this game, we play and it's great, I see it at local store, didn't grab it, second friend goes to same store by coincidence and buys it, now sold out everywhere, typical board gaming.
