You said, “insecure”. I interpret that to be a sign of greatness, as i have heard many exceptionally talented people at times elude to their insecurities. I chalk it up to a self-effacing quality of greatness. I can only reiterate the previous comments as so accurate and well put. I have as they say “messed around” with stringed Insturments for the past 20 years and even played bass for a guitar player of your caliber and was always in awe of the way he played with all the tasty embellishments and little barnacles 😂 attached, wondering for years how he does it??? Well you are showing me and i am now beginning to express myself on the guitar the way i alwayz have wanted to. Your instruction is opening up the world to me. Thank You 😊. Carry on my good fellow 😊

I've been learning how to play my guitar for two years using the internet for lessons. I've viewed thousands of lessons by dozens of people. Your videos are by far the most educational. The connection of chord (shapes) to phrases has been the bridge I needed to go from playing to understanding. I'm now a member of your community. Thank you for what you are offering those who want to understand the 'what's' and 'whys'.

Brian , you’re terrific. You teach the logic and reason for playing your compositions. You teach the ‘why” and not just “ play this” like most do on RU-vid

FANTASTIC AS ALWAYS! I spent years taking "traditional" guitar lessons, driving there and back...this is MONUMENTALLY BETTER!! I can slow things down, go over the parts at my own speed, etc. Brian puts things simply and makes licks understandable. I've been playing guitar over 40 yrs and my playing has improved dramatically since I've found Brian and Active melody. I'll be a premium subscriber till' the day I can't hold up a guitar. So much wonderful content, I'll probably never get totally through it all. But that's OK, I just a bit better with every lesson. Thank you so much for creating this Brian!!!

So what consistently impresses me about your guitar playing, is the lightness of your touch, the ease of your phrasing and your general musicality. As a guitar teacher, you consistently find the right sized bits or chunks of music that readily fit into my own guitar study. From my perspective, you don’t bring superfluous comments or personality into the process, choosing to stay focused on learning the guitar. Thank you for this and the many other lessons from which I have learned. I enjoy being a member of your online training program and having access to the high tech training tools you provide. 17:23

Hi Brian! Hope you are well! I’ve said this before, but worth repeating - Thank you for all you do! I am always inspired by your calm and positive energy and always learn something new to take away and keep improving. Thank you for not peddling **** to us and for keeping it real!

Studying this is opening doors for me, getting the right sounds at the right moments and you are right, bits of it definitely works over other forms of music . The only feedback would be that after absorbing all the ideas (over about a week) I need the demo at the beginning to stich it all together and get it to flow on a blues . There were a few things in the demo that weren't in the lesson which for me at my level made this process, harder. For my blues and general playing though, I'm really glad I found this, thank you.

Great video, as always. As a guitarist I’m always concerned about the fact that I’m not ‘technical’ enough. Your approach let’s me know that it’s okay to simply play triads, pentatonics and harmonised dyads. As players,we don’t always have to ‘break out the box’, it’s about what you do with the box.
