Thanks mate. My first time posting anything on RU-vid. I'm normally an electric player, but my wife surprised me with a guitarlele. My cousin recorded me chilling out whilst camping during the Christmas holidays and we thought we would just post it to see what response it got. Thanks for your feedback!
Brother i have a question . Can the chords of guitar use into this guitalele? Because its hard to find video tutorials about this guitalele and i want to learn guitar if possible can i learn guitar through this?
@@KentSain A guitalele is tuned 5 half notes higher then a guitar, so when you want to know how to play for example: G7, go five half steps down (Gb, F, E, Eb, D) you land on D. So just Type in “ D7 chord Guitar” and play it that way on guitalele it will be a G7. For example: A on guitalele is played like E on guitar, C like G, B like F#, G like D, F like C, E like B, D like A and C like G. Also there is a Guitalele Chord chard you can find free on Google with over 100 of the most important chords for guitalele. Hope I could help ;)
@@KentSain Hi mate. Yes, the exact same chord patterns and structures as you use on a guitar, you can use on a guitarlele, in other words, play it exactly the same as you would play a guitar. The only difference is that the guitarlele is tuned to the key of A rather than E, so reiterating what soykage3757 has said, it will sound fine if you're playing by yourself, but if you're playing with a guitarist, or a recording, you'll need to transpose down five semitones.
Thanks bro. I am actually a huge Clapton fan ever since i first heard Sunshine of You Love back when i was 14yo. I've got the Eric Clapton Signature Strat (my very first Strat that i saved up every dollar for, working all Christmas holidays when i was 20!), the model with the Gold Fender Lace Sensors before Fender changed them to the noiseless pickups. Thank you for the compliment, that actually means a lot to me - my playing being referred to in the same sentence as Eric Clapton! Cheers mate.
Thank you for your comment. I find it so relaxing. Sometimes i fall asleep playing, guitar or guitarlele in my hands - my wife finds it really funny when that happens! Cheers.
Thanks Denise, i do love the guitar. I'm mainly an electric guitar player. I've only got one guitarlelle, but I've been collecting electric and acoustic guitars for about 30yrs now. Love playing 😉.
Hi - this was recorded a while ago now but I just stumbled on it searching for 'blues guitarlele'. Very nice playing and I'd like to learn it but first I need to figure out your tuning. As far as I can tell you've tuned the A string to a G# and then tuned the rest to a (relative) 'standard' guitar tuning - is that correct? If so, any particular reason you did that? Thanks
Thanks Divan, really appreciate the support, but i wouldn't go that far! There are a lot better players out there than me - but i do appreciate the kindness and your compliment. Very encouraging, thank you.
Hi there. I'm playing a Kala, model: KA-GL. It's really nice to play, and has a pretty nice finish. Not the top of the line, but a good little thing. Hope you can find one.
Thanks mate. They were the factory strings i was using for the recording. I don't play it often, i think i just have a set of cheap standard nylon classicals on it right now. I have used Elixirs in the past.

Hi mate. I always use Elixir strings on my guitars, both acoustic and electric. So id recommend Elixir classical nylons. Those strings i have on in the video were just the factory strings though. I have since put Elixirs on - they're great because i have acidic fingers and they don't corrode.
No, not insofar as key. Guitaleles are generally tuned to A (i think that's right - guitalele enthusiasts please correct me if I'm wrong, guitalele is not my instrument of choice). But each string's pitch is the same as a standard guitar tuning, i.e. their relative pitches to each other are the same as on a guitar, but as said, tuned to A. I may not be tuned to A in the recording, i can't remember if I'd just tuned it to whatever key on the go. Hope i didn't confuse the situation further.
Hi there. I'm playing a Kala, model: KA-GL. It's really nice to play, and has a pretty nice finish. Not the top of the line, but a good little thing. Picked it up in small ukulele store in a place called Burley Heads in Queensland, Australia. Cost about $350AUD about 7yrs ago.
No sorry, it was just an improvisation, I haven't tabulated it. My influence for this would be Stevie Ray Vaughan's Pride and Joy. You'll be able to find a tab for it online.
