I'm watching for the first time the Blues Magoos. And I hear the sound of my youth. Wonderful.

Yes the whole album is under rated - every song has a different feel - one just as good as the other - Long Live The BLUES MAGOOS - !

A lost band . In my humble musical opinion , one of the very best of the 1960,s along with the Elevators...

One day way back in the early 1970's I was selling my used 1950's Fender Duosonic guitar. I was living in NJ back then. The doorbell rings and standing there was Pepe from the Blues Magoos and his girlfriend was with him. He bought the guitar. I wonder if he still has it. Vince

I saw them in 67 at Constitution Hall Wash., D.C. , with The Herman's Hermits and The Who . They had big colored lights under their shirts . The Who damaged the wooden stage badly , because they threw their guitars 🎸 high in the air and they came crashing down on the stage , and also smashed them against their amps and speakers .

I was told rock bands were not allowed to play there after this " concert " , yet l remember seeing The Rascals play there later. I believe they were still called The Young Rascals then .

Sometimes I think about old folks back home That 12 mile road that I used to roam. Sometimes I think about that girl named Willie Jean Wondering if she made it down to New Orleans. Whenever I think about the folks back there You know I wonder if they still have that old county fair. Sometimes I think about that girl named Willie Jean Wondering if she made it down to New Orleans. We used to watch riverboats from a grassy bank Drinking hot water from a railroad filling tank. Sometimes I think about that girl named Willie Jean Wondering if she made it down to New Orleans. The folks back there say why you come to harm Now here I am sitting here on this county farm. Sometimes I think about that girl named Willie Jean Wondering if she made it down to New Orleans. Oh, Willie Jean, Willie Jean would you come back, come back to me Here I am sitting here on this county farm. Oh, Willie Jean, Willie Jean would you come back Come on help me now.
