Like everything else in the USA today , today's hockey has become soft and a special teams game. Everything is a freakin penalty!! Havent been to a hockey game in 5 yrs when I seen what was going on. They made it softer and scoring is down. In the physical era you had multiple 50 goal scorers and more. Now your lucky if you get one!!
Great game for Mario with the 5 goals but still think the 5 he scored against the Rangers is the greatest single player performance ever in an NHL game. He scored all 5 in different ways, a shorty, an even strength, a powerplay, a penalty shot, and the OT winner. Was never done before and I don't see it ever happening again.
And somehow they lost to the freaking Florida Panthers in the conference finals and missed what would have been a great Stanley cup with the avalanche.
@@The_Bad_Guy. They lost Francis before the series, Vanbriesbrook stood on his head and the Refs royally screwed the Pen in each game at Florida. Game 7, Veebo stole that game. Shame the refs f'd them, it would have been a great finals.
@@sammmy4495 oh I remember it vividly. Vanbiesbrouck was a wall in that series. I still thought that even without Francis the penguins still should have taken them but top goaltending and game killing defensive systems always hurt these high flying pens teams. That's they they always struggled against the devils.
@@motherloverjones6008 Slow or pause the footage and you'll see the tape didn't even come up to his knuckles, let alone cover them. If they called a penalty for tape, it had to be that one finger on his left hand despite throwing rights exclusively. The cut was from Leroux punching the helmet while the jersey was over Twist's head. The edge of the helmet sliced a nasty line through the skin. Twister wanted payback considering that the cut came during a flurry when he was on his knees.
Leroux took full advantage of some luck. Too bad he’ll go down a big puss for cowering in RD. 2 and and then dancing his way to no fight in RD 3. I’d have liked to see him back up his first Twist fight to the trash talkers. Unfortunately he seemed to have given them more fuel.
Polk High: Let's see now... Leroux had some tape around his hand (and *not* across his knuckles), and Twist was on 'roids. Hmmm... so whom would you say had the biggest advantage?
"That tape on his hand acts just like a cast. He should be suspended." Rob Ramage should sense this to Vince McMahon as a tryout. He calling out Cowboy Bob Orton and Greg The Hammer Valentine. The tape didn't even reach his knuckles let alone cover them. He ain't PUTTIN ON THA FOIL.
Why would I watch hockey today knowing this is how it used to be played. These gladiators did it for nothing and now we have little boys making 10’s of millions sacrificing very little.
@@stevemineer2857 That's the response of someone that has no proof to back up his claims. You basically just rolled over, showed me your stomach and submitted to me.
Pearson was such a bum. Courtnall with a typical cheapshot and dive. Always nice seeing the most over-rated fighter of all time, Twist get dropped. Always love seeing the Blues get shelled, especially by Mario scoring 5.
