Ur spot on. I’m currently using a Edge with the Bluesound Sub+ and B&W 607 S2. I love it but sometimes I want a few more decibals. You convinced me to upgrade to the POWERNODE. I will move the Edge to another system with more efficient speakers that are easier to drive. Your video was exactly what I was looking for. Thx!

After your last video, I decided to switch out all of my Sonos whole house audio amps for these BlueSounds. Very happy with the decision as I already have a couple hooked up and the sound is good and interface is crisp.

Good explanation and demo- just what I was looking for. I have a Node, and have been interested in trying a Powernode to see how it sounds. I went to my local dealer yesterday and saw the Edge for the first time, and was wondering how it stacked up. I'm 63 and was of the belief that it had to be a heavy amplifier to be any good. Trying to modify that mindset. 😊

I’m glad i bought my p5 and powernode system when I did before the edge came out because now I would’ve been second guessing if I needed it but I’m extremely happy with it

I miss the animated obsessed garage logo at the beginning of each video! I have a first-generation bluesound node and it hasn't received an update since right before Christmas. Maybe they've given up on it but it seems like something that bluesound would not do.

PSB Alpha P3 looks great and is definitely a comfortable size for the desktop - Unfortunately they do not measure very well

Can you add pulse flex 2i wireless rear speakers to add a surround sound or will it just same audio to multiple channels?

Only for the powernode, the edge doesn't have this feature.

Would you use the Edge for Dynaudio in ceiling speakers?

Yes, that would work well.

Honestly, $1100 is cheap for a good audio decent audio set up in the garage. I have over $2000 invested in high-quality headphones.

Hi guys ! Im thinking about buying all-in-one for my second system . Think that powernode be good for monitor audio silver 100 6g ? Or even silver 300 6g ?
@ObsessedGarage
@ObsessedGarage 3 месяца назад
It will be a little underpowered for those speakers, but it will do a decent job. I'd rather have a C388 or 399 for that.

These videos are really making me think if I should try this out over Sonos Amps and ports before I go too far into that ecosystem. Has Matt ever shared his thoughts on why BlueSound over Sonos? They can both do high-res audio and natively stream from the hardware. Sonos Amp is 125w vs 80w or 40w for BlueSound. Just curious. Might be a good topic for a video, or to ask on the podcast.

To tell you the truth if you don’t do super critical listening you won’t notice a difference. And if you do in fact listen to each of them hyper critically you’ll decide one might just edge out the other but that’ll be more about preferences. However, the software leans in favor of the Node. So if you’re deep in Sonos and loving it probably not worth the switch but if you’re looking for the best Bluesound and external amp is the way to go if you’re truly looking for a undeniable leap in resolution for a main system and then over time add power nodes as around the house background noise.
@djparra41
@djparra41 Год назад
After thinking about it a more I thing the PowerNodes are just not quite worth it since you can buy some killer class D amps from anywhere between $80-$150. So you can save a fair bit and get the unamped Node. But just options for whom ever cares to read this.

@@djparra41 I guess I just have not heard as much about BlueSound and Blue OS than Sonos although that could be marketing. Matt seems all in on it so I'm curious what the other reasons are if any and why not Sonos as he's obviously investigated both solutions thoroughly. I'm genuinely curious to his thought process here because he's not steered me wrong with anything else he's recommended.

NAD/Bluesound is publishing legit numbers. I would wager Sonos is not. Comparing based on power is probably a pretty bad move. Sonos is a marketing company. NAD/Bluesound is an audio company. To me this is no contest. Sonos is the SunJoe of the audio world.
@mattjohnson8978

@@ObsessedGarage appreciate your thoughts, as I never hear any comparisons or talk about Sonos versus when you talk pressure washers you definitely make those comparisons. I agree Sonos is a little bit more about marketing. My application is structural speakers throughout the house which need this kind of connectivity, along with certain rooms were I have more dedicated setups such as the garage, my office and home theater. But I don't really consider the home theater as part of this other than I would put a device that would tie it together to bring the music through if I wanted that in a multi room setup. My home theater will have its own completely dedicated setup. Thanks for the reply.

Bluesound Edge measures better than its big brother Powernode, if you can live with its 40W output (desktop, small room, apartment). Otherwise go for the Sonos Amp.

@@ObsessedGarage Yes, for most of their products I would tend to agree, however the black Sonos Amp is definitely not trash. With a digital source it measures quite well and has tons of power and great functionality (HDMI, bass management, streaming services). The analog input is not so good tho! To my surprise, the Bluesound Powernode 80W did not live up to its reputation in measurements.
