Yes and no. When you're having a bad night and are down to your last 100, you can pick a spot where a pot has been 3 bet with 2 or three callers and jam it in light AF and get lucky and triple up. But if that last 100 means a lot to you, I agree, cash out and go home with it.

A6 is an example of the snowball effect. Vs an UTG open out of position I think it's an easy fold unless there's like 4 or fewer at the table in which case UTG would be essentially late position and defending isn't awful vs what's likely a wide range. Flop call is standard but it also means you're putting more in the middle with an easily beaten hand... which means that if you do decide to call or bluff raise river, it will be for a larger amount and will cost you a pretty sizable pot if things don't go your way. Also, i feel pot sized bet on river is polarizing, either it's a bluff or the nuts, so raising doesn't do much for you since if he is bluffing yes he folds but you may well have won anyways vs AQ or AJ or the like by calling, and if he does have the nuts... well, you're just putting good money in after bad.

A6 was horribly played and its hands like that (which are fun to play , but not profitable) that are costing you. You played fine before that. And the QQ after that was fine. But the K4, as a defence out of position, even though it turned out well, was horrible. You should also keep track of those hands that you fold to see what happens by the river, because thats what matters . Honestly if you had folded A6 and even K4, you're up another $300.
@no1ghostrider

Yeah you moved up and the game is a little tougher. In the 8/5 hand you were representing an 8, at least that's the way I would have played it if I had an 8. Sometimes just flatting looks a lot stronger than raising.

I’m not sure you are thinking about your lines and bet sizes enough as you play. Seems like you are on autopilot a lot mimicking actions you’ve seen of witnessed from other poker vlogs, books, videos etc. There doesn’t seem to be coordinated actions, or an understanding of SPR and bet sizes relative to that SPR. For example, your Qs hand was massively confusing even though you won a big pot. Feel like your preflop 4-bet, flop bet, turn bet, etc were all uncoordinated actions that just happened to work out. If you were gonna go 1/3 on the flop, then the turn needs to be a shove, as it would be if you had certain bluffs (albeit limited) or if you wanted to commit more on the flop so your opponent is pot committed on the turn, you needed to bet more on the flop like 1/2, so on the turn, your opponent is forced to call with a wider range. This could also have been accomplished by 4-betting to a larger amount pre.

I think your philosophy that "the chips are coming my way thats all that matters" and "greed is not your friend at the poker table" is pretty wrong. Winning a pot means nothing, getting the most value out of your hand is the end goal. Not saying anything about that specific hand, but in general you should be greedy
@WillPlower
@WillPlower 3 года назад
Greed does not help you make money in poker. Understanding game theory, knowing your opponenents potential range, knowing how to extract value are all tools used to make money in poker. None of those have anything to do with the emotion of greed.

Brad owen had an ROI of 60% (win rate so if he bought in for 100 he walked out on average with 160) whereas Catos ROI was at closer to 150% (in 100 out 250) on average. Is it really called betting with equity or is it just a semi-bluff? Thanks for the video! Are you going to the wsop?
@PokerBEAST
@PokerBEAST 3 года назад
semi-bluff = bluffing with equity. Because I have 8 outs to hit a straight on the river, about 16% of the time I’m going to make (likely) the best hand. Almost 1 in 5 times my bluff doesn’t work I’ll get bailed out on the river, and can potentially make MORE money. Its much better to semi bluff rather than just bluff. This is why good players look at a board and think “what hands in my range would be best to bluff this board with?” i would imagine they select hands like this with equity and/or hands blocking nut hands.
@eddiefast6125
@eddiefast6125 3 года назад
The relatively small profit is fine and you came back well from a needless bluff but you need to be winning more in relation to your 'investment' whether it be 50% or 300%, aim f or at least the lower target otherwise one bad session will wile out several winning ones in one go. Also bluffing is almost an art, you are lacking in this area so my advice is practice with small bluffs in position and keep them to a minimum.
@mjriemen
@mjriemen 3 года назад
Your comment makes very little sense. Playing Poker you are always trying to win, but more importantly youre just trying to make the best decision possible. Sometimes you wont be able to win as much as you like. If you force it, you end up doing silly things to loose money like make silly bluffs. The game will always be there, you can always come back tomorrow. Sometimes the best decision you can make it to just get up and leave.
@eddiefast6125
@eddiefast6125 3 года назад
@@mjriemen it makes perfect sense because it keeps you focused, there were several opportunities in this video to make more $$ in a hand, some were extremely obvious but were passed up, the bluff which massively reduced the profits was exceptionally poor, put all these together and they clearly show a lack of aim and focus..
