I just discovered your channel and as a brown girl, you are such a breathe of fresh air!!! You actually have product suggestions I haven’t heard from other brown girls before, and you have a unique style. Most brown influencers would say that these shades won’t work on us, but you proved them wrong and it looks so good on you
Hi, thank you so much. That means a lot. Back when we didn’t have as much choices, I still had a lot of fun figuring out how to make certain products work for me. I’m so glad I can help expand the choices a bit!
I also have an olive tan skintone. I can pull off a lot of blush colors, i think the only ones I dont like are super bright, shocking colors (only because I dont like being super careful and triple check that > havent overapplied) and very dull, drab, light-neutral colors; a lot of "nude" blushes fall into that category and they do nothing for me. They are too close to my skintone so theres no effect from using them.
Thank you 💕 Lip combo: Liner to fill lips: Milani in All Natural Liner to outline lips: NYX in Brown Lipstick: MAC matte in Whirl Dusting of blush on top to set: MAC Mineralize blush in Sweet Enough
I'm a warm olive.. Any shades + brands in particular you'd suggest? BTW - chanced upon your channel two days back and it's pretty much all I've been bingeing on LOL
I love Nars and Dior for their extensive shade range and options for olive undertones! Maybelline’s fit me line is great too. Dior have got their olive tones as 2WO, 3WO, 4WO etc. makes it so easy And thank you, that means a lot 😭💗
I just discovered your channel, and its been a delight watching your videos bc we are the exact skin tone/undertone. Seeing you talk about Benefit Dallas made my heart flutter - it really is the OG/BEST of all shades and im so so disappointed that they discontinued it. When I heard they were discontinuing it, i stockpiled it (found it on sale at macys) and I am still working through them!! On my second to last one now so im a bit nervous but seeing these reccos gave me hope that ill find another one that works for me!
Haha I’m so happy that us girls with the same skin tones are finding each other. It’s definitely been a challenge. Gosh I wish I still had Dallas left. I hear Covergirl blush in Soft Sable is a dupe but never tried. The Patrick Ta She’s Seductive gives me the closest effect but I think they might be discontinuing that soon too since most of those blushes are no longer listed.
I truly found this video really useful. The benefit one was exactly the one i was looking for but its sadly discontinued. I really liked it and Im wondering if you could recommend a blush that is similar to it.
@@jalzulfah Hi! I personally haven’t found anything currently on the market that is similar but I hear MAC blush in the shade Harmony is a very close dupe. I also have an updated blushes video in my Reviews playlist. That one is up to date if you want to see more blush options.
Hi Silvy! I just found your channel and I love that you make videos for brown skinned girls! Did you ever end up making the video of your favourite lip combos for olive skin? If not, please do!!
Hi! Thank you so much! I haven’t go around to the lip and bronzers video since I had a baby and things got crazy! But I will get a chance to get back to the series in this next month.
If you want a more natural looking blush, you could go for more peachy/bronzy undertones. If you want a true blush look without looking like a clown, anything with a rosy undertone would be beautiful. I think a rosy tone works amazingly for those olive undertones. Wet n wild has a beautiful blush shade called Keep it peachy that isn’t too deep. The Mac mineralize blush in sweet enough is gorgeous too. Laura mercier also have amazing soft shades that work well for light olive skin tones.
FYI, I heard that the Covergirl Cheekers blush in the shade soft sable is supposed to be a dupe for the benefit dallas blush, for anyone wanting to try it out but cant find dallas :)
This was so comprehensive and well done. I really appreciate the range of products you covered and that they weren’t the same ones I always see covered. Thank you!
I’m a dark winter! But with makeup you can alter depth of the shades as long as undertone is complementary. So lighter or darker shades in a cooler/neutral undertone work. And thank you :D
Hi! I’m wearing MAC matte lipstick in Whirl in the video. I usually blot it on with my finger and then pat a little bit of whatever blush I use on top (in this video the blush I’m wearing is Milani Romantic Rose)
I’m looking to buy the dior blush but so many people on TikTok over-dramatisize(?) it; saying how it’s very sheer and not worth the price. I’m very conflicted but seeing it on your skin is pushing me to take the plunge and purchase it~ it looks so pretty and wearable on your skin. I like how the colour is sheer because no way neon pink would actually look good on most people. So many tend to attach quality to pigmentation 🫢
Yeah this blush was a tricky one and I looked at endless swatches and reviews to figure out if I might like it. At the end of the day I knew if I really didn’t like it I could return or exchange it for something else, but it lingered in my heart for a long time. I definitely don’t regret it. I know people love pigmented blushes but I think sheer blushes are much more forgiving. But it would be your preference if you’re willing to pay that price tag to use more product to build it up. I usually do about two layers when I use this. I did about three layers for the video so it shows up on camera.
