A video about the First Cinema Camera by Blackmagic Design, The Blackmagic Cinema Camera 2.5K. I used this camera to shoot my most successful film, Charlene. I think it is a good camera, but its certainly has some cons. I think it is a good option for indie filmmaking and for beginner to learn how to color grade. Do you think it's still relevant?

Good video, pretty sure the original bmcc 2.5k didn't have a super35 sensor though (the production 4k though yes).

Hello Hasan, I was wondering did you experience issues with fixed pattern noise with this camera? I just got one and it seems to have alot of fpn in lowlight at 800 ISO. Not sure if this is normal for this camera so just wondering.

I personally haven't noticed it in my footage, but it does get noisy in low light if not paired with a fast lens. Maybe check the firmware. Although they haven't had updates in years, but if the last one was installed by the previous owner.

I'm in the process of finding one right now. Sssshhhhhh, don't tell people how good it is yet until I get one lol. Here's the reason why this camera is still good in 2021..... FAIRCHILD sensor (early arri alexa uses this sensor), the most filmic looking sensor there is, even more filmic (though restricted to frame rates and sensor size) than any newer bmd cameras after. This has the same secret sauce like the panasonic dvx100 when it came out. All other cameras after didn't have that "filmic" look like the dvx100 did.

I don't know if it is possible, but I hope BMD goes back to the Fairchild sensor. It would be really awesome. The new cameras are great and create a great image, but it looks too digital and it's the same with every camera company. That's one reason why I still stick with older cameras. @@HQFHasanQureshiFilms thanks and I don’t think they will go back to it due to the competitive natures of the camera industry. The maximum frame rate is 30p so I doubt they will limit the line. I am currently seeking a MFT version so I can use the speedbooster and the rawlite moire/ir filter to eliminate the known moire issues found in the bmcc 2.5k. It’s so hard to find a mft version under a grand lol.
