Unless you have a special forces job, but for most things they require you to pass swim tests before you even get the job, but again this is only for special forces jobs like PJ.
So the first few days you’ll wear your civilian clothes that you packed. You should be issued your duffel bag with all your PT gear within the first week. That’s what you’ll wear until you get your OCP’s.
Highly suggest memorizing it before you leave. You’ll need to know it often. And the laundry mark is just the first initial of your last name and the last 4 of your social so it’s not too difficult. By the end of BMT some people know everyone’s laundry mark in the flight.
Nothing involves swimming in BMT. If you pick a job where you fly, you may need to do swimming but I’m not 100% sure. BMT is not hard. Tech school, depends on what job you pick. If it’s too hard for you they’ll reclass you to something more your speed.
@@meandbaby4833 Air Force lets you choose jobs after BMT or did you choose during the MEPS process? Getting current info about not getting job choice options joining the AF. Am also transferring from the Army so that might be a reason.
@@nanzistnt2573 I joined the Air National Guard so I had my job picked out prior to leaving for basic training. Depends on your recruiter and the process you go through. Some of the girls in my flight in basic did not find out what job they got until we were close to graduating.
