Absolutely. I love that they kept the shortcut buttons and the other analogue controls. I drove the 1 series one generation older than this one and I really miss the ability to access different presets for the navigation and stereo with just one button now that I have another car. But they also made it look a lot more modern than the older ones, even while keeping the buttons. VW group should take notes there.
Test drove the A3 and the A class... 99% sure I was going to get the A class based on the interior then I drove the 1 series.... which is what I’ll be picking up end of December!! After this review I’m even more reassured I made the right choice
You will be glad you did, I’ve had one for nearly 3 years and I love it. It’s brilliant on the twisty roads where I live, the handling is excellent. I just love driving it, I was due to order a new car but with all the delays on new cars I decided to keep it for another couple of years.
Another brill review Mark. And you’ve made me like the 1 series, which I dismissed mainly on looks. It doesn’t even look that bad does it. It’s happening to me! The same thing that happened to you. Like.
Great video, I’ve owned one since Feb 2020 and I love it. I live in North East Scotland and it’s perfect for our twisty b roads. I love the interior too, everything is just quality inside.
Take receipt of my Msport in August. Genuinely excited to get it and drive it. I'm usually a fan of big cars (Mondeo, Passat, A6) but after the Mrs said she wanted 1 of these and we looked and argued and tested it, i can't wait.
I have 70 plate 118i and I must say the looks really do grow on you, the side profile looks great especially in the M Sport trim. The interior build is first class and while I wouldn’t call it a ‘hot hatch’ it’s certainly a warm one.. 0-30 away from the lights it’s rapid
Thoroughly enjoyed that thanks. First reviewer to make me actually want to try one. Ps I'm stealing the '2020 taste' joke as it's an absolute belter. Cheers
Although the interiors may have dated they work and they are a pleasure to use. My last car was the previous gen1 series (M sport) with pro nav and it was fab day to day, my current car has a fancy touch screen which looked and operated lovely in the showroom but is a bloody death trap when using out on the road. I also miss the M sport steering wheel, which I know is slightly sad but after you've lived with one of these cars for a few years you REALLY notice the difference. When I change this car there is every chance I will be going back to BMW.......... Great review by the way!!!!!!
Nice to see you’re giving up and coming car reviewers a starting point by including them in your videos. Just think, you’ve done wonders for his career now. The world is his steak...I mean oyster
I haven't and probably wont, sorry. I did drive a 128ti last week though. Not for long but enough to know it's brilliant. I'm told that the 135i rides better. Pretty sure you've made an exceptional choice there mate. The more I drive the 1 Series the more I like it. :-D M.
Bloody hell Mark, only just found ya again - fancy, you being head hunted, and probably laughing all the way to the bank after naming your price ;-) ..... well, you’re the best of the bunch matey
Can anyone give me a review of the standard sound system on this car? I've ordered one but didn't get a long test drive, don't wanna pay nearly a grand to upgrade it tho
@@CarGeordie I assume you mean I wrote this whilst feeling extremely angry. That’s not the case. More pertinently, please can you explain why you called the idrive rubbish and now you’ve changed your mind.
Wait for it Wait for it .... Here it goes ... ARGHHHHHH MY EYES , TAKE IT AWAY !!!!!! I think you are gonna mostly look around for some nice looking girls , until You sit in modern BMW . This ain't pretty , sorry BMW.
