I cannot explain my excitement after I fixed it myself. Thank you soo much for this video! I went to ask for a price in the nearest service they asked for 500 USD. Fixed it for 30. A big thank you from Southern Europe 😅 By the way I didn’t have any other experience rather than changing my car battery
Thanks for the how to, in my case, I just removed the blower motor, sprayed some "elektro kleen" (yes, it's an actual South African product), spun the motor by hand a couple of times, and the tested it. Ot works perfectly fine now
Great tip! Might be something for others to try depending on what is bad. I had mine apart a few time before this for squeaks, I don't think it was coming back to life. :)
You would still want the motor locked in (there would be a fair bit of torque when it spins up), but you could test before putting the cover/trim back on. I wasn't worried about it not working since it was a complete replacement. If I had done just the motor or the heater resistor, testing before assembly would be a good idea.
I don't remember, but I looked at my old footage and didn't see anything else. A good flashlight or work light is a must in addition to the screwdriver, it is hard to see under the dash.
I haven't seen that before! Check that the plug to the blower unit is seated correctly, if so, I would then get a volt meter and check to see if voltage is getting to the plug. That will tell you if it is the blower motor/resistor or if the problem is deeper in the car.
@@reileymckerracher9181 thank you! I will check. A second question. For this is a single fuse? In my case is number 88 and it is like 40A. I saw that there are two fuse for AC like 06 and 77. Should i check also those two fuse?
@@bogdanpopescu9725 Sorry, not sure how it is fused. I would expect one for the blower/resistor, but the controls would be separate. Just another though, have you had any battery warnings? With a low battery car will shut off non essential items.
